  1. Don't you have indoor pools in Canada? I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
  2. A tampon applicator with no indication of other garbage (that might mean spilt or blown out of truck). I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
  3. http://www.paragear.com/skydiving/10000274/L1199/EVOLUTION-FREEFLY-SKYDIVING-JUMPSUIT or http://www.paragear.com/parachutes/10000012/SLIPSTREAM-II-SKYDIVING-JUMPSUITS if you really can't find a used suit. Fill in your profile so we can help you. Tell us what you mean by small. Look through the classifieds here and the gear for sale on facebook. Also I've found many folks don't bother so much advertising/selling old jumpsuits. They just kind of collect. Hang out at your DZ and ask around. And post a Wanted classified ad to find out what is in the closets. There is NO reason for a new jumper like you to buy a custom suit until you know what you want to do, check out suits others own and learn how to land your canopy. BTW you SHOULD get a jumpsuit because they not only offer aid in flying (falling faster than without, slower than without, bigger range maneuver better) but they are a piece of safety equipment. Keeps your clothes from interfering with your equipment (covering handles) or beating your face silly flapping in the wind. Protects body from abrasions (dry cut stems of grass can rip skin, like thorns, branches, runways). I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
  4. In fire rescue it's 15x 9000lb rope for 600lb 2 man load., static load. Skydiving gear is no where near this. Look at TSO standards for structural load test requirements Pia.com public documents for the latest standard. I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
  5. Send it in, have maintenance done. It'll be fine. I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE

  8. I actually haven't used the 217s much. Haven't had them too long. But in the Pfaff 238 I've had for years I.was able to move the presser foot bar and increase the lift. So fsr I think I actually like the Pfaff better. A friend also told me something he's done. He's removed the tension release rod for specific tasks so that the foot could be higher without releasing the tension. Haven't tried that trick yet. If I could get that $2500 I would sell one.😉 Crazy asking.price. I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
  9. With the juki 1900a I don't have to tac with a zigzag anymore. But lately I prefer a needle feed. I use my double needle 212w140 with one needle and also have a 111w151 but haven't used it in a while. I've been looking for a used Sailrite LZ to have a walking foot zigzag but they are rare used and popular. Hard to get past the sheet metal head. We won't talk about what my wife realizes and doesn't. But I almost bought another walking foot straight stitch on a local auction yesterday but really don't know where I would have set it if I'd got it. I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
  10. Consew 199-1, or -2 for 304 or 308 stitch. The bernina 217 as above or my goto for a long time Pfaff 238. I have 5 total representing all three. But the one that did 6 layers of type 4 for a toggle nose best was a viking home machine with a low gear. I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
  11. BTW I ground rigs with very little velcro wear to the reserve risers. A moderately fuzzy areanis 30%+ weaker. NO damage to reserve riser is acceptable. I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
  12. The Racer should be used as kindling. The Cirrus was also sold as a main. I have/used to jump one. Nobody liked them because they could stand them up. I could but had to work harder than a Pegasus or Strato Cloud and nobody flew the canopy through the landing back then. Only sold as main for a couole of years. Big fat soft pillow that doesn't make for a good airfoil but out glided a Pegasus, barely. Not worth jumping as main and I wouldn't pack one as a reserve anymore. Certainly not in a Racer. I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
  13. You shouldn't jump a spectre 150 let alone the elleptical! ANY canopy 150 or smaller is a high performance canopy because the line are shorter and so is theiment of the pendulum. Standing up landings are not the measure of canopy skills. Tunnel time has nothing to do with seploying a main or habdling a high speed spin malfunction. Just make sure there is popcorn for the spectators, video and do it before your obama care goes away. Bye I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
  14. Forgot to update. It's a chandler 267 that is a version of the juki 241. We'll see what it goes for later today. I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE

  16. Okay, anybody want to go pick it up for me and hold it until I can get over to Chicagoland, in a week or two? Too good a deal to pass up. Hope someone has already got it. I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
  17. This is on a local auction and may go cheap. It's a walking foot with reverse under Chandler name but I don't recognize what it actually is. Anybody recognize it? Photos are low res, trying to tell if some parts are missing on front near tension disks. I'll go look at it tomorrow before auction. I thinks its a chandler 406, equals version of consew 206. Anybody agree? I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
  18. I used to do this all the time, but like I said my brain is working. I was reviewing an analytical procedure validation protocol written by a collegue who thought she could do no wrong, and reviewed and approved by her supervising PhD. It looked screwy and confused me for a few minutes. Then I did the simple unit analysis and realized it was completely wrong. The author had quit so I had to rewrite AND reexecute the validation work. Same woman made a calculation error in another validation protocol and ended up with validation fom 1 to 15% of label instead of 10 to 150% of label. If she had payed attention to the scale on the autoscaled detector traces she would have seen all the peaks were too small. The auto scaled peaks of course were full scale. We were two days from filing the procedure with the FDA and I had to scramble to redo that one too. 5 days before I was being laid off for ever. Anyway, thanks, and yes its trivial but so is my brain today. I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
  19. Thanks Lee, Obvious now but just too hard to turn on my brain these days. I need to get a real job where I actually have to think. I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
  20. Okay, I have a bachelor's in chemistry, took lots of math, worked in industry as an analytical chemist in the pharmaceutical industry for 30 years and can't do this without a lot of angst and time. Need to solve (A x X) + (B x (y% x X) + (C x (z% x X) = TOT for X where all other factors are know values selected by committee. Represents special assessment apportionment where A properties pay 100%(X), B pay one % of X, C pays another % of X and all gives a TOT dollar amount needed. K-5th grade math for 6 years and my brain is flabby. If someone can whip this out in 30 seconds like I out to be able to please help. I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
  21. Too many variables and unknowns for any drop test to be meaningful. Go jump them yourself for grins. BTW I have one packed 82 years ago and one packed about 50 years ago. Pretty sure the silk in the old would shred. I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
  22. Not mine. Found this on craigslist. http://chicago.craigslist.org/wcl/art/5933377194.html Blue 20u-33 looks very good. $300 is good deal on non-chinese version. Good first sewing machine for rigger. Somebody needs to go grab this. I have too many machines and a little too far. If it was local I'd snap it up. I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
