I got a lot of shit when I started skydiving. THis is because I immediately wanted to be out there every weekend. So, I used to spend every weekend going out with whuffo friends and doing different things, but I don't live in a place where there is a lot to do. Grand Rapids, Mi is nicknamed "Bland Rapids" You end up doing the same thing over and over. Why do I want to go out to the same bars and get wasted? That leads me nowhere. Also, whenever I did hang out with my firends after I started skydiving, all I got was shit for it. That isn't too enticing, ya know? I do know that IF I only went out to the dz once every couple months, I wouldn't have gotten to know the people out there and enjoying that friendship is a big part of skydiving for me.

I know this type of jumper exists, but I think most people were afraid (at some point) to look stupid in front of other jumpers. PAlso, People thtat think they know it all are an accident waiting to haapen--it leads to complacency. THe thing is, if there is something a student doesn't recognize on his rig, and fails to say anything due to the reasons you mentioned, I think he will look a lot more stupid in having a reserve ride or if he was not so lucky, death. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The mind is like a parachute--it works better when it is open. Holy Cow! That is scary to me that someone can get through a whole training course and not be able to recognize that they have a static-line set up. before jumping, I think I was a good student (I actually put forth effort and enjoyed school). That was my focus. Funny how that changes. I was really anal. Everything had to be in its place. SHHEEESSH, that has definately gone the opposite direction. and I like it! I stopped doing things because other people wanted me to. if you look where at the tail of where the plane was parked, there is what looks like a wall, but is actually 2 huge sliding doors. It opens! There is a hangar off to the right as well(with 2 more of those bessies). The landing area is decent as far as I am concerned. There is a lot of space to land. I haven't been to other dz's, just boogies, so I can't compare it to much. I haven't had any problems. I hope I don't speak too soon... There probably wasn't anyone out at Gobles on Saturday, was there? You probably met Mary though. She is an awesome lady (and our manifest). As far as Marshall? I don't know much. Saturday weather was a wash, so I went to a bar with old friends on saturday night and was dancing quite a bit. That was a lot of fun. Then I jumped all day sunday.

Broke up with 1 whuffo boyfriend (not that I am proud, but happier) : 2 (yay! it was frickin freezing, but still fun!
