I'm posting here since this is where I believe it should go? Last week and a bit ago, I had another mal on my Velo96, just relined with 500HMA...maybe ~100 jumps. I had to chop a month or so ago...break popped on deployment and it wrapped up, similar thing this time (a bit more violent) I looked up early on slider still up canopy still in a 'ball' as normal but i noticed a line twist about 2/3rd of the way up, I just put my feet together stoppd looking up and relaxed as usually this would sort itself out, anytime i tried to fix\fight too early I just made it worse except instead of clearing next thing I look up and it wrapped up tight I cannot tell if brake fired but I'm on my back spinning, been here before and no getting out (at this altitude anyways) however when we recovered the main, ( yes a brake was released, may have been release when we took it down from the tree but unlikely) on inspection there was obvious damage to 1 of the risers, see pics. also there is a tranfer of red die to the lines, I was concerned they were f$%^ but after inspection they seemed ok, I've jumped it a bunch since......can post pic of lines later on. exit ~5 G deploy 3500 wings container wing loading

Skydive Moncton Otter Boogie July 12-15 2007
sky301 replied to sky301's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Located in Moncton, New Brunswick Canada.....most loads end up going to 15000G ( thanks Girls) and even thought we get lots of altitude, of course you can bet, I will still get tandem passengers commenting on the short freefall etc :-) just craziness, regardless I cannot wait!! from a previous post The Moncton Skydiving Club is hosting the 2007 Gravity Powered Flight Festival from July 12 to July 15 2007 at Skydive Moncton. Fayard Enterprises is supplying a Super Otter for the event. This year's boogie will feature organising and coaching from none other than Arizona Arsenal's Steve Curtis and Sara Bennett! There will be 4 way competitions, large hybrid attempts, live entertainment, and more to come. Book your vacation, pack your tent, grab your rig and plan to come play in our sky for 4 days of fun. sky301 replied to sky301's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Looks like they may have closed, I received an email reply from someone at the ville....I guess I'll just keep looking for someplace.... "Unfortunately I believe the parachute club has closed down. I have forwarded your email to the guy that ran TACP. He may have so alternate places you can jump, but I believe they are not jumping at Clark on any routine basis anymore. JC" Just Go with it -
I was in Montego in the Spring...didn't find anything (official anyways)...the beach and drinks is a good alternative. peace Just Go with it

Hey all, I've heard lots of great things about this DZ foremost the visuals from altitude and of course the people, I originally was just going to try and stop by rent some gear and do jump just because I was going to be in the area......however after reading some reviews and seen the feedback from some other post I adjusted my flights and I'm taking my rig! plan on being there for Wed afternoon/evening as I understand theres usually some jumping going on and back fri afternoon to sat evening, so hopefully they'll be some good weather and some local freeflyers to jump with. I'll let you know how I made out. Peace Just Go with it

I had Eye Lasik on March 24 2005 and was jumping a month later, with the ok of the eye doctor.( she actaully oked me sooner....she said about after a week they are gona be healed as good as they'll get. I now wear sunglasses, and yes they came off a few times (now have one of those strap thingies) and zero issues. My personal experience has been terrific....no more lost contacts, no 'sqwashing" ( you know what I mean) of my brain trying to work on my camera helmet. Those thinking of it......just get it done..pricy but worth it!! Mike Just Go with it

Front riser pressure: Crossfire2 vs Xaos 21 vs VX
sky301 replied to gus's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Seriously, Any VX pilots out there, (currently or formerly)care share some of there techniques, I'm working on 270 the front-riser-harness combo(harness mostly for the last 90). A few questions?: Riser lengths? regular dive loops? ( having a hard time grasping mine quickly, have to fiddle with them for a sec) Braked approached? then double fronts and let the opposing one up? loosening leg straps? particularly with hip rigs. Whatever you have to offer will be cool Thanks Just Go with it -

I'd be interested in hearing more on the tools in your trick bag! I just started jumping my new to me vx 98, had an fx for couple of years, but still having managed to put the canopy in a dive\and stay there, riser pressure too high, working on the harness piece to help me out.. I have some canopy coaching coming up in few weeks, but would like to hear more. thanks Mike Just Go with it -
for sure. we have one in getting inspected right now. Can't wait to get a few more tandems under my belt. later Just Go with it

Hey All, A couple of us are taking the course right now, going to be working at a 182 DZ, and are actively looking for a used system, besides the classified here (which are usually great) where are some good leads on used systems, and what questions should we be asking? Obviously we are getting a tonne of good info here, but i'm just looking to spread out our search web and see what I can get for feedback out here in cyber world. Anything else you care to share will be cool too. later, Mike Just Go with it

Hi all, Maybe i didn't imput the correct search string but haven't been able to locate a delear\repair shop for the FT50 altimeter. I have 2 that require repair\recalibration. I'm not exactly a big fan of them at the moment but they're of little help to me in present condition..anyways Your help much appreciated. regards Mike C Just Go with it

Lasik and getting back in the air
sky301 replied to GraficO's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I'm glad this thread appeared when it did, I have an appt. to see if I "qualify" for the procedure next week....and i'm planning on going to lake wales to check out the swooping comp in Feb.....doing some jumps as well of course. So if it all works out I'll definetly wait until I return for the procedure. I'll be sure to ask lots of questions at the exam. So If i understand correctly following the procedure and the "inital healing period", wearing gatorz or similar type of shades in freefall wouldn't be recommended at all?....even after a few months? better to stick with goggles of some sort?
