Looks like someone photoshopped the "baton" out of the image, Gary. "Even in a world where perfection is unattainable, there's still a difference between excellence and mediocrity." Gary73

Roboform. Robust, functional, easily accessed from all your devices, and it has a separate feature that allows you to securely store notes and information that isn't related to logging in. I wonder if I don't use this feature more than the PW mgr feature. It's free to try, but I've found it worth the cost to purchase. No - I'm not affiliated, paid or in any way compensated. I just like and rely on this program. Daily. "Even in a world where perfection is unattainable, there's still a difference between excellence and mediocrity." Gary73

Thread Drift: And the sun rises is the east BUT I last jumped my 175 Falcon in 1990-91, and it had almost 2000 jumps on it but flew and landed beautifully. We're talking F111 landings, but they were comfortable and easy standups. Maybe packing on the grass, in the sun, isn't so bad!! The PEP was stolen from a local airport. It's partner rig, #s listed, was manufactured at the same time so the #s will be very close to those listed.

Need a pilot with jump plane in WY this weekend
NovaTTT replied to Briharp9's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Not necessarily. If you find a Cessna pilot willing to fly, several are STC-ed for flight with door removed. Info on STCs can be found here: http://www.airweb.faa.gov/Regulatory_and_Guidance_Library/rgstc.nsf/MainFrame?OpenFrameSet "Even in a world where perfection is unattainable, there's still a difference between excellence and mediocrity." After spending over $7000 is it unreasonable to ask for a free reserve pack?
NovaTTT replied to Nerra's topic in The Bonfire
Congrats on the new gear. What is being overlooked in this thread, unless I missed it, is that your rigger should inspect and assemble the gear. Reason? Despite being brand new and fresh from production, new gear can and has been received with mistakes and/or manufacturing problems. Your rigger can inspect and assemble the gear, and let you know that everything is OK or not. The A&P cost is peanuts, no matter what. Keep local rigging local. Blues. Cost is very much regional, and there are a lot of PEPs upstate. I charge $65. Many of the pilots in your area consider $50 reasonable. Education is key. ;-) "Even in a world where perfection is unattainable, there's still a difference between excellence and mediocrity." Gary73

Why not? Sent. It's the Preamble to the Constitution, Ski. For ghosts, apparently. "Even in a world where perfection is unattainable, there's still a difference between excellence and mediocrity." Gary73

Sent email text is still being stripped. . . my outgoing emails are going to recipient(s) with text gone, just vanished, but with the Signature intact. "Even in a world where perfection is unattainable, there's still a difference between excellence and mediocrity." Gary73

Emails I send from DZ are having the text stripped. Recipient gets a blank email - but the Signature carries through. "Even in a world where perfection is unattainable, there's still a difference between excellence and mediocrity." Gary73

Perhaps you're better off writing a negative report: Why it is impracticle and/or impossible with current technology to utilize a BRS on aircraft that exceed xk#. It's that or some kick-ass sci-fi! Not New York . . . Gov. Cuomo is the dipshit here. The citizenry, law enforcement community and local communites/towns are deeply opposed to the SAFE Act. "Even in a world where perfection is unattainable, there's still a difference between excellence and mediocrity." Gary73

I've not personally had a problem with our kids in this regard. We'll tell them to get their gloves, etc., but if they want to freeze their asses off, let 'em! What I have a problem with are the girls wearing camel-toe pants (yoga pants, etc.) and titties-out tops. They're great for hookers, but not for teen girls, IMO. It's an ongoing "fashion" battle here in the Forster household. Might be alone in this, it's hard to tell. Target Stolen Customer Information - Anyone Here Get Hit?
NovaTTT replied to LuckyMcSwervy's topic in The Bonfire
I don't know if we were hit, but we both shopped at Target (with 3 separate cards!) during the breach period. Bit the bullet straightaway and had new cards issued. PITA, but it was better than having an ID theft, which Laura had about a year ago. Don't want to go through that again. Jealousy. Plain and simple. Ask Santa for some Mad Skilzz and then, maybe, you will be on a level to discuss the backwards WD-40 rigless foot landing with this skygod. Maybe. "Even in a world where perfection is unattainable, there's still a difference between excellence and mediocrity." Gary73

Hold your breath (figuratively) for a few months, and the whining from those people will fade away. Wait a year, and you won't hear a peep. Wait 5 years, and pulling at 2k will be a story 'old timers' tell around the bonfire. Anyone remember when they upped the D license requirements to 500 jumps? There was an uproar from anyone within 50 jumps of the old requirement (200 jumps), and the rest of the sport sort of looked at it and said, 'Probably a good idea'. When was the last time you heard anyone complain about needing 500 jumps for a D license? Years for me, and I'm sure the same for everyone. This too, will pass. Like it or not, the sport and the gear is constantly changing, and if you take a 20 year break, you'll see a lot of changes. I know that 2k has been the D lic pack opening altitude for at least 20 years, and look at the differences in that time. Smaller faster canopies that open much slower. Freefly friendly rigs (meaning tight and secure) with more tightly packed reserves. Like it or not, these are the facts of what the vast majority of skydiving rigs looks like today, and we need rules that reflect those realities. So you jump an older rig, with an older canopy, and you can dump at 2k all day with no problems? Good for you, you're in the minority and can't reasonably expect the USPA to cater to you when there are 14 other people on the plane with you DON"T match that description, but more closely match the description of the rig/jumper I described in the previous paragraph. Not that you are not correct about the ebb of change, which is universal, not related to only skydiving. But in particular contradiction to your theorem, the minimum opening altitude (say, 2000') isn't a required opening altitude. As has already been mentioned, if you choose to open at 2500', or 3000', go ahead! Inform those who will be in the sky with you and have at it. Or shouldn't one be able to choose a lower opening altitude because you (or another) chooses to jump a slow opening parachute? Generally speaking, who's being the dick in this equation? Those who want the ability to choose or those who insist on denying the right of choice to another? West Wind Sport Parachute Center, Jenkinsberg, Georgia. The dz effectively ended 9/29/85. Soon changed hands and operated as Atlanta Skydiving Center (a/k/a Billy World) for a few years. Billy World was a fun place to jump, even if you didn't follow the rules. Separating L bars is easily accomplished with tools you already have. Remove the two screws and slide the link over the thin end of your metal tapered paddle. Stand it up on the wide end and tap the ends of the L bar with your rawhide mallet. Cheers!
