"the flip flop jumper"
blueskiesbill replied to blueskiesbill's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
i have seen the teva jumpers and in my book thats not so bad considering they are attached....its the flip flop that gets me ... to me that would be like a girl running straight into a wave with only a bikini on --- hey its great for the surfers out past the break but not so much for her idea of covering up!!! I have always wanted to do the barefoot jump but i still have not found a DZ with a shag carpet landing area the condemned convict climbs the highest peaks without fear -
Why is static line a dying discipline?

also i think the most expensive part for me in S/L was always forgetting not to let go of that damn $5 rip cord --- effin piece of plastic that cost me some extra $$$ the condemned convict climbs the highest peaks without fear -

unfortunately I do not have my parachutist on hand at this moment but the other day while sitting on the throne i was purusing the march issue (which i have gone over three times cover to cover and couldnt even count the amount of times i have seen the pictures!!) and i came across the tropical pictorial section it is a two page spread and on the left side there is a 10? 12? 16? way hybrid and if you pay attention to the feet of the gentlemen on the left wearing white and black he is wearing flip flops when i saw this i let out a wild laugh and then thought how is that possible.... so i ask all of you out there --- have you ever made a flip flop jump...if so was it successful? or have you known someone to make a jump with flip flops .... all i can think of is freeflying with this guy ... coming in to dock from above and then off comes a sandal and smacks me square in the nose ... *** be a great thing to catch on video!!! blue skies!!! the condemned convict climbs the highest peaks without fear -

I am a product of S/L and here is my two cents: had it been more expensive i am not sure if I would have made it financially....well i would not have finished as quick...knowing that every jump after my first $160 investment was only $38 was cake for me...i didnt even think about the money although i must fill you in on my wonderful home DZ -- a tiny place in northern NY (now in Northern VT) that was a volunteer not for profit club...after i made it to freefall status i was jumping with 50 yr olds with 15000 jumps and 25 yr olds with 400 and everything in between ... and the 'coach jumps' were free .... so if it werent for S/L i prob would not be where i am today and even more importantly the static line definitley prepares you for LINE TWISTS i think it should be offered some more because given both options i think people will still take AFF for their own personal comfort reasons...S/L is not for everyone --- hanging from the side of a tiny cessna that looks like its about to go in a nose dive straight to the ground because all that duct tape holding the engine together that is about to break and then some guy is yelling at you from inside the plane and all you can think is what the hell am i doing then 10 seconds after you let go your like 'damn i love this shit!!!' the condemned convict climbs the highest peaks without fear -
hey J question ... not sure that i am going to be able to pre-reserve the hot air balloon jumps that i am going to take as my room mate situation is taking a bad turn and will probably be moving out within next couple weeks, when i was not planning on moving until august so money is cut short for the time being...when i jump out of the hot air balloon it will be my jump before my second jump ever so i would like to make atleast three considering i will prob get hooked... so i guess my question is : will i be able to snag three spots at the fest or like a week or two prior? and also can you offer any info on skydive orange in va .... i am thinking about giving them a shot this summer at becoming my 'new home DZ' but do not really know much about the place....any info? blue skies!!! the condemned convict climbs the highest peaks without fear

Ben that is a bold statement that you are making and i appreciate what you are doing....the skydiving community needs to realize that we are all brothers and sisters of one big family here and quite frankly we only have eachother to rely on ... and when one stabs the other in the back --- no bueno --- ***leave your problems and that door and jump blue skies!!! if you will be at skyfest i will see you there the condemned convict climbs the highest peaks without fear -
hey, so I once made this same post... my favorite is Z-hills because they have a great atmosphere, great jumpers/coaches, and i jump at the ranch in NY and the planes that billy richards owns (super otters) go down to the hills for the winter, i think there should be three of them down there right now if they are all running...the night life is great between the fire pit and the bar that paul runs... I have also heard alot of great things about sebastian including there great vibe, the late night hang out and the view from altitude... I have heard Deland is rough because they have alot of teams there and it is not really geared towards a under 500 jump newby Also if I were you I would check the calendar on DZ.com and on the dropzones web pages as well to see if anyone has anything fun and exciting going on if you have any other questions ask away blueskies!!! ***also i just moved to baltimore and will be checking orange out this summer...can you tell me anything about orange the condemned convict climbs the highest peaks without fear

gotta follow the best planes in the industry (thank you billy) when the weather gets cold up north....and plus the people at zhills are the greatest .... during student status I had the pleasure of learning from lori, aaron, tony, and many others who are jumpers that i feel are very well accomplished in this sport oh and lets not forget the wonderful afternoon dust devils that make landing so fun and interesteing the condemned convict climbs the highest peaks without fear

ok .... i will take out the lose money portion of my reply...after reading the post you put up i became quite irate, and responded with anger... everything else stays the same --- i just dont wish that you lose money as you are still part of the skydiving community... but obviously you dont care about etiquette hope you guys have a good time...you def have some great organizers, some great events, and some great ideas (maybe not yours orignially) but that is how the skydiving community has grown to where it is now by sharing ideas ..... blueskies the condemned convict climbs the highest peaks without fear -

Ok so I will be going to skyfest .... but i do need to say that this is some serious shistiness... I mean that is something maybe you do to your uncle that molested you your whole life but not to the man that showed you how to throw a real boogie... and further more --- ok your going to steal J's boogie (yes you are stealing his boogie, and if you think otherwise you need to go back to common sense school) i mean come on now the two weeks before his....i mean that to me is just flat out disrespectful did J steal your wife for a weekend or run over your dog...because he is a pretty cool guy and what you are doing is about the lowest of the low...i hope you lose money and i hope a lot of people realize what is going on and decide to attend the real "....fest" as always blueskies to all except for those who bring the 'Dark Cloud' the condemned convict climbs the highest peaks without fear -
J - is there a fee for the RV slot? I want to pre-register and want to pay only once. I didn't see that selection on the registration page. Hey J!!!! So uber excited about this...not sure if you made note to the favor I asked to make this event more teacher friendly ... but i am in like flynt on an eighteen yr old freshy going along with the quote --- what is the slot cost -- i am looking into buying a lil tiny camper to tool around with this summer... so i may need a hook-up so this better be all its cracked up to be or i will hold a bottle of seagrams seven just out of arms reach in front of you all fest.... the condemned convict climbs the highest peaks without fear

try the royal flush -crown royal -vodka (fruit flavored makes it better) -peach schnapps -cranberry juice -pineapple juice all equal parts or upside down pineapple -parrot bay -151 -pineapple juice **pour in shot glass and add grenadine (pour gren. down side of shot glass and it sits at the bottom, this is what takes away the hit of the 151) the condemned convict climbs the highest peaks without fear

a buddy of mine who lived out there told me that the weather is relatively calm in the flats cosidering you are on the leeward side of the rockies --- so therefore no real storms--- i guess i was misinformed but def thanx for the info --- it will def be a boarding trip but i was hoping to maybe mix it up a lil bit plus my best friend from HS i guess moved out there and he and i had talked about getting into the sport together but unfortunately i went one way and he went the other, anyways he ended moving to the rad and got in to the sport before i and i did not find out about him being in the sport until i watched a memorial video --- broke my heart and i would love to go jump with some of his co-workers and hear/share some stories blue skies!!!! the condemned convict climbs the highest peaks without fear
