We got the record on jump 3 of being "allowed" to build to the full build. The 1st day was just Base and Sector practice jumps. Then we did some full size jumps but not planning to build the full 1st point, then full 1st point and only transition to the 2nd point. On the 2nd of the 3 full sequence jumps , we didnt get full altitude (ATC restriction), so we really got it pretty early on the plan!
-
Apparently, it doesnt have to be all simultaneous. But Every jumper needs to fly idependently at some point during the transition (so if Joe has my leg, and doesnt let go fast enough and I go from Grip 1 to Grip 2 on Ellen in front of me, it's a bust). And you cannot have any of the same grips on any of the points, even after a full break between points.

I don't know what next TBH. We used 7 planes (Twin Otters and Skyvans) and we started off with 156ways, so with the same number of planes, we could do a little bigger than 151. Could also add another plane without needing to ferry one in. Or a 3 pointer bigger than the 108, 3 point record (I beleive that's current 3 point TBS record). But it's been 2 years in a row for the Eloy events, not sure there will be one next year as AirSpeed is rebuilding with 2 new members, so they'll probably focus hard on 4way. It's getting harder and harder in Europe to get the planes... Chicago is doing a 250 single point next year I beleive.

We were getting 18k feet for the record jumps, and 16k for the practice ones.

Skydive Arizona in Eloy. Nov 6 2024. And for some reason, the .png's from the OP aren't loading up on my side, so here's the pics fom Trunk. And yes, as Joe mentionned, it's a Total Break Sequential record.

Yes.

"The Q analyzers" This, in itself, is hilarious.

Do you have a source for that story?

A much smarter, and more knowledgeable person than me (nerdgirl for those who remember her from here) posted on FB that, according to what she could find in the US code, there is no definition of what a coup is.

Why are we calling these terrorists a militia? -
buying new h/c. RI or UPT, can't decide.

You obviously spent a lot of time looking at the designs. All I am saying is what my personal experience has been with wearing multiple brands rigs. We can talk about ring placement, geometry and such for days, what matters is actual comfort IMO. -
Hey Buddy! Nice to see old folks pop up on here once in a while...

That's why online, and paper shopping only goes so far. I based my comments on actual fit. My 6'4" teammate agrees too... -

I jump a Curv now, I have owned and jumped most other brands in the many years I've been around. I've always paid for my gear: never been sponsored. Vector, Jav, Wings, Mirage, even Reflex and others... The Curv is, by far, the most comfortable rig I've put on. By far. From new, to well used several years old now. Every other owner I know says the same thing. I'm 6'2 by the way, so I'm not sure I'd say Curvs arent good for taller folks. -
I agree. Regardless of what someone thinks the right thing to do is, Dan's communication has been stellar.

Being concerned is one thing, but the bigger risk when skydiving will be spread from asymtomatic people, not their stuff.

Correct. Eloy, Perris, Snore.. All the "desert" dz's have plenty of dust devils, typically from April to September. And most often when it's dry and not as windy. And if you've only seen 1 canopy collapse, you need to get out more. They happen. The video looks more like a gust or general turbulence... Tho who know..

Skydive Perris VS Skydive Elsinore
Remster replied to David Wang's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
There really is not enough dirt been slung from the Perrisites or the Snorians! Come on! Lets have it! ;-) -
I've been using John Hopkins (which I trust and does not have the political muzzel the CDC has) for continuous updates. Also Worldmeters, though the data may be less accurate, but has been close to JHU so close enough for me. https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/map.html https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

Is that what you were told? Interesting ;-)

If you are on a moving group (angle or tracking) then absolutely, no tracking up or down flightline for the main part of the jump. If you do a solo or 2way, again, absolutely, do not track away along the flightline. Any bigger than that, your priority is to turn 180 from the center of the formation, and track away. Not going up and down flightline becomes almost impossible as 1 person will essentially be along the flightline. This is why having enough separation between groups is critical.

difference between tunnel and real air- how to turn?
Remster replied to David Wang's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
You will not find a decent FS coach that will say to look where you are turning. Always look back to the center for as long as possible. As late a head switch as possible, and then only to look back at the center. If what you are doing is a center turn, you are not going anywhere, you are turning in place. And looking out early (or at all) will make you drift away. -

Remster replied to David Wang's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Are you talking freefall, or canopy? Because in freefall (and that's what we've been talking about), you definitely do not want to look where you're going when turning.
