  1. Congrats.....I was blown away when I saw that video. Very impressive.
  2. Since a bunch of us were just talking about this last weekend I'll give it a try. I fly a Cobalt 150 I rented a rig with a Sabre2 150 which I jumped a couple of times and I was kinda pissed that the Sabre2 was noticably faster and needed less toggle input(not much but it was less). Also one of the jumpers at my DZ went from a Sabre2 120 to a Cobalt 105 and she says they fly about the same. I didn't riser carve on the Sabre2 but flying straight in it is more like a Cobalt 135. IMO the Cobalt flies one size bigger then most comparable 9 cell semi or fully elliptical canopies of the same size(note this is just an opinion based on the feedback of the 6-10 jumpers who have Cobalts at my DZ and is in no way scientific)
  3. well then how about this practcie a face off then 90 degree handdock face off 90 on the other hand. Then go to 180's no face off in between. Using only your hands to turn you. Gets you in the habit of flying to the dock instead of reaching, also since your using your hands to turn you'll probably use them to keep you from backsliding. That way you don't have to reach so far back to compensate for a dock. plus you'll have a little added stability from not using your legs to turn Right now where I am at if I'm going for a front dock I'll try to put myself at an angle to the person and then try to turn into the dock.
  4. On solos try clapping your hands twice in front of your face then putting them back to normal without falling on your back.....helps with stability
  5. However you want to term it the fact is that in this society race is a factor in how your treated sometimes. It is not a construct and no matter what your personal values are it doesn't change the fact that it exists at all levels in american society
  6. ....and thats the logic I can never understand. Fully realizing that theres an unfair advantage and then screaming for a level playing field.
  7. To start you want to ball and cartwheel into a headdown or as close to that as you can get or you can ball and fallover backwards into a backtrack. You'll still slow down but not near as slow as dropping to your belly. Either way the objective is to not go to belly and then track. After you learn headdown you can cartwheel into a headdown increase fallrate and then banana out. or turn and bactrck, I consider these to be the optimal ways break off a FF jump although I'm definitly not an expert. and can't really fly headdown yet.
  8. I'm sure all the ladies wanna know if that includes the patented crotch dock, or does that cost extra?
  9. We have a whole lot of superstars on this stage tonight, but I want you all to know one thing this is my house and when I say whos house ya'll know what time it is. WHOS HOUSE???? It's "Tricky" aint it
  10. Thats TAPOFOMS The Awesome Power Of a Fully Operational Mothership. Don't fake the Funk lest ye be labled Sir Nose D'Void of Funk
  11. Anyone that writes a song called "The Promentalshitbackwashpsychosis Enema Squad" just gots ta be funky....and I quote "The world is a toll free toilet. our mouths neurological assholes and psychologically speaking were in a state of mental diarea...." Just don't forget Parliment/Funkadelic was made up of some of some bad ass musicians that can tear the roof off on their own. Like Bootsy Collins, Bernie Worrel, Maceo Parker, Fred Wesley, and the late Eddie Hazel. The stuff they do with Bill Laswell (Axiom Funk) is smokin.....actually Bill's funky pseudo(sp) dub is pretty kick ass too.
  12. Wasn't that the plan in the first place God Damn it we'll finally win this war on drugs....this will put us over the edge to victory Ronny wouid be proud. The boys in the DEA love it..... What a joke just another example of our tax dollars being flushed down the toilet. I would have thought that they would go the logical route and legalize then tax and regulate, but that makes too much sense it would cost less and stop a lot of senseless bloodshed. You don't want to stop bloodshed do ya?

    stable sit

Exactly....... and even if you don't do it quickly if you do it right you should be able to keep level. Also when I say ball up I really mean drop the arm from the shoulder on the side your cartwheeling to and reach across your chest with the oppisite arm(if you duck the shoulder doing this you'll twist a little and bring the legs back to about sit position keep torso and head straight(I mean on the horizontal plane not vertical ie you can bend at waist as long as you keep torso and head facing foreward)......again this is just for a weedeater. Since I just started going headdown I'm the last person you wanna ask, but I don't think you wanna ball up much. From what I've observed it looks like most people bend their leg inward a little and tilt at the waist to catch air then pop their legs out and apart to stop the rotation in a headdown position Hope that doesn't muddy the water too much

    stable sit

This is what you need to do. using a weedeater or cart wheel for example. first break down the transitions into four parts 1. Stand for acceleration this will help make the trasition faster 2. let your self fall to the side still in the stand as your legs get to around 3 or 9 oclock the relative wind hitting the side of your legs will force you into the transition with suprising force. (don't be suprised if you can't stop yourself the first couple of times) 3. As you start to rotate from step 2 Ball up to increase the rotation speed. 4 as you are getting to 360 degrees in your transition stand to accelerate this also helps kill your rotation also key to this is looking at a target you never want to take your eyes of a target in front of you(or at least a heading) if you duck or turn your head then you'll end up doing a cartwheel with a twist and end up off heading at the end of the trasition. Go slow take it a step at a time don't try to rush and put all the steps together real fast cause it'll get messy quick front and back flips are the same concept but heading control is a lot easier. Hope that helps
  15. I'm so cool.......just ask me and I'll tell ya all about it
  16. 250 + jumps on a 150@1.4:1. One mal which was my fault (slinks + no bumpers=bad). I put a few jumps on a Sabre 2 150 openings were nice it was a little faster, but the Cobalt has a lot more bottom end flare IMHO.
  17. In the 80's I was working on a boat and there was no radio all we could hear was the sounds of mussels being pulled from a shell
  18. I went kiteboarding and besides the boards and canopies half the stuff in the shop was Da Kine they also make gearbags for snowboarding. BTW Kiteboarding rocks
  19. ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats the funniest thing I've heard all day. The fact that you believe that an old alzheimer stricken man actually knew what he was doing is cracking me up. maybe the greatest puppet ever might be a better title. I have to go get paper towels so I can clean up the ginger ale I spewed all over the place after reading that
  20. see this http://www.cnn.com/2003/LAW/08/05/pilots.hearing/index.html
  21. In short RADIO SUCKS!!!!!.......back in the day FM used to be cool lots of album rock, alternative/punk, R&B/Funk. Then came clear channel and others of their ilk to ruin the fun. Now radio is a vast wasteland run by 2 or 3 companies playing the same crap over and over As far as RHCP their best stuff never got airplay(most people have no clue about the greatness of Uplift Mofo or Freaky Styley) but them and Fishbone used to rule. The times I saw them in the 80's still stick out in my memory.......pure adrenaline and sweat in the mosh pit
  22. Crap now your comparing me to GWB Enron for for one. Ask Enron employees if they understand what scraps are. The sad thing is that the crooks had full support of some of the top officials in this country until they got caught. I wonder why? Could it have anything to do with money and lots of it. Trent Lott for one, and while I don't see them creating racist programs(whatever dude). I don't see them doing all that much to stop the racisim that still exists or maybe I'm confused as to why I have to be searched for handgranades on a normal traffic stop. I also bet on some of the older southern republicans I could go find where they supported racist programs in the past. Did they have a big change of heart...... I think you missed my point. You wanna be on the right go ahead. I'm not trying to change your mind. I'm just saying that both sides are so polarized and argue about a lot of trivial shit until an Enron or a S&L scandal happens, or maybe I'm jealous that my world isn't black and white like yours. Like I said the left and the right are a nice distraction. Both sides in the middle have some good ideas but the farther out you go the more circus freak you get on both sides, and I trust neither of them.
  23. Old enough to know better. Young enough to say fuck it
  24. And your so smart? while the left and right play footsies. The big money gets what they want and leave you guys arguing over the scraps what a hoot. Oh and there is some truth to both left and right stereotypes.
