  3. Yup, know it. Know it well. Forgot it for awhile, but remebered it again. Thanks for posting it. Nice reminder of what I shouldn't ever forget. God, I love being cryptic ...
  4. Wow. Those colors remind me of something ... 10EA sumthin' sumthin', Bell222 sumthin' sumthin' ... Nope, can't place it.
  5. Hmm ... it would be interesting to do this poll by sex. Judging from the responses, I doubt the results would differ, but what if the 31% were 99% men? There goes your dating pool! However, if the opposite were true, you'd do yourself a favor to free up more than one evening ... 8. Hey Peaceful -- Giving up your zippy Miata stick shift (God, I miss that car) for a scaled down version of a full sized van (you can call it a minivan if you want, I make other choices) because you have kids and a couple of dogs is not compromising yourself. Picking up someone elses pants off the bathroom floor is not compromising yourself. Making a phone call to explain why you may not be home from the DZ for another few hours is not compromising yourself. Not standing up for issues you believe in is compromising yourself. Going against your better judgement to keep someone else happy is compromising yourself. Lying because you don't think someone would understand is compromising yourself. Lying to *yourself* is compromising yourself. Me shutting up now is compromising myself, but I'm doing it anyway. 9. QuoteWell I am another happy to be with me! reply] Oh? Who's the other happy to be with you? Snowdog and Showdog? 12. I'm with you. I'd rather be alone, and happy with myself, then in a relationship that drives me crazy. Looks like there needs to be another choice? 8) Working on me. Geesh. That's the last time I put together a poll when I'm listening to sappy Chicago tunes ... 13. Dang it, was gonna try to edit it and add the options: 6)Love? Ha! and 7)Alone and just happy to get laid. Won't let me add options. Sorry ... 18. Do you know where that line came from? (Hint: "I didn't do it.") Gonna have to spell it out for me, I'm afraid! Wendy "Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used u
  19. LOL -- I have that shirt! Says it repeatedly! Actually, it's not the REAL clowns that scare me -- it's those stuffed ones that hide under my bed, waiting to grab my ankles and pull me under, then into the closet (come on, you've seen Poltergeist!) ... 20. It's in my locker at the DZ, and I'm missing it terribly. Sure would be nice if the snow would stop falling ... Better question: It's 3:41 AM (now) -- why the heck are we up? 21. For those that haven't subscribed to the mailing list for updates, I am shamelessly and relentlessly reminding you that Indiana Skydiving Academy in Goshen, IN suffered the loss of all their skydiving equipment in a fire a few weeks ago -- and the fundraiser is fast approaching. For full details on the fire go to http://www.indianaskydivingacademy.com/fire.htm Below are a few excerpts from updates I have received from Ward, the DZ manager through the update list from the DZ. End me, start Ward ... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A big thank you to all of you who have helped with this event or with the dropzone in general. If you plan on donating any goods or services, or just auctioning off yourself off as a love slave please let me know as soon as possible and before March 3rd so I can get you or your items on the roster. If you would like to donate money you certainly can do so by going to www.paypal.com and sending it to paula@indianaskydivingacademy.com. The event is coming together very nicely. We will have a catered dinner, a band to play after the auction and dinner, and all the spirits you can drink, and a few thousand dollars worth of skydiving and non-skydiving gear in addition to jump packages. Everyone is welcome to attend so please do so. To get all the info about the fundraiser go to the current events link on the webpage and the isa fire link on the site as well. Also, we definately have a location. It will be in Elkhart at the Labor Union. I will send an email with directions as well as a map in our mailing to all our jumpers. (Edit from Wendy -- you know darn well by now that I'll send it along here) It seats 550 people and is a really nice place. Unfortunately hotels are not too close so you may want to think about sober drivers after the event that night. (Another edit from Wendy -- I have crash space available and live 20 mins from there) We have to be out of there by 2a.m. so plan accordingly. Again, we thank you so much for all the help and support with this terrible turn of events, it is impossible to explain our gratitude with words alone. 22. Lots of variations on Bobotie our there -- I think I have at least 3! If you like chutney, here's a great recipe, and saves TONS of money (it's pretty expensive here in the States). You can substitute just about any dried fruit ... Very good on kebabs, chops (esp lamb) and rice. Blatjang (Apricot Chutney) 500 g. (1lb) Dried apricots 30 g. (1 oz) pounded and sifted chillies 1 dessertspoon cayenne pepper 3-4 large onions 1 Tbsp salt 1 Bottle vinegar (500 ml) 500 g (1 lb) Stoned raisins or sultanas 60 g. (2 oz) Ground almonds 1 Clove garlic minced 2 Tsp ground ginger Sugar to taste Soak the apricots overnight and boil until soft. Mince the raisins and parboil the onions. Add all the other ingredients and boil slowly for 1/2 hour, stirring occasionally, so that the mixture does not catch. The consistency of the mixture must be that of smooth paste that will not flow when tested on a plate. If you really like chutneys, I've got a whole bunch more where that came from, from tomato to banana ... 23. Hostel. Hands down. I've spent a few years in other places, and lived in tents when it didn't rain, hostels when it did, and hitchhiked everywhere I went. Not something I'd do in my own backyard today, but will *never* regret it. I met some of the most interesting people I've ever met in my life and got some of the most bizarre ... no, coolest rides. Did you know there are no handles on the inside of the rear hearse doors? You miss so much when you travel 5 star or do the tour bus thing. You can let others point to what's out there or you can go taste and experience it yourself. Instead of a tour boat of the Great Barrier Reef, go find a small vessel with a captain and a marine biologist who will take you diving and have you tasting sea cucumbers. Instead of driving casually by the poor seaside villages in South Africa, hire a horse from a local and spend a few days roaming the villages and watching the faces of the children when you let them ride your horse for a few minutes. Instead of going of a group safari of some game park, try a mokoro (dug out canoe), a backpack and a guy with a gun taking you on a trek through where the animals can still live without fences. Instead of waking up to a coffee pot in your bathroom and paper outside your door try waking up to a wallaby rummaging through the food you *thought* was safe in a net up in a tree. Instead of scouring through pamphlets and books to find out where the best local places are to eat, drink, shop, tour, etc, approach a local and ask them. More often than not you'll be taken by the hand and led towards experiences you never could have found in a tour brochure. Life is good, memories like that are priceless. My .02 in a nutshell. 25. Wow. I don't think I've ever been described as a "hottie" before. I think I'm a little old to fit that particular description ... Or at least my girls would tell you that ... Schindler already offered a whopping 100 cents for a night in my bed. Fortunately, my bed is big enough that I may not even notice he's there Do I hear 101??? Any and all ideas are welcome, of course. Keep brainstorming!
