Thanks for not letting the subject die. Before they bought the DZ, I was Bo's first graduating student (though he never told me 'til recently!) and Paula and I jumped a bit together when it was difficult getting anyone to jump with the newbies. I watched the two of them get together, and now that they own the DZ where we were all students, it would be heartbreaking to watch them lose it. I haven't jumped there in a few years, but I *always* tell the folks at the DZ I go to now that I am soooooo glad I was a student at (then) Skydive Goshen. There are many benefits of learning at a DZ that size (such as learning to spot with your eyes, not a green light) and I can't imagine having come up any other way, at any other place. There have been a few threads about this tragedy in the last week or so. I hope at least one of them doesn't die, and keeps going until Bo and Paula receive enough help to keep their DZ open. Please tell your friends. Your DZOs. Your favorite gear dealer. A little from one place adds up to a lot when it's lumped in with a little from a lot of places. Don't discount what you can offer ... btw -- I believe Bo was my first kiss pass (as a student) too. I wonder how many more of us there are out there???!! Right. Being *ready* is one of the keys for success. Kids that are born from unexpected circumstances stand little chance of having a Mom AND a Dad that are around full time and love them the way they deserve to be loved, *full time*. Heck. Even kids born in ideal circumstances (define ideal how you will) suffer a greater than 50% chance of not seeing one parent as much as they deserve. Why put yourself in a position where you are bringing a child into the world knowingly and willingly, knowing *full well* that you're still not sure if you really want that child? Are you really willing to risk children's lives and feelings for curiosity? Darius, Are you going to be a Dad? Or thinking about becoming one because you like someone, and are considering changing your point of view? Most people I know (not just men) that didn't want, but had kids unexpectedly, raise them out of a sense of responsibility. They spend most all their child-rearing years thinking how different life would have been had they not been "trapped" or had they used effective contraception. People I know that decided to have a child because their s.o. really wanted one eventually regretted not sticking with their gut instinct. People that don't want children shouldn't have children. There's nothing wrong with that. You'd be saving yourself and your s.o. a world of pain and misery. Hey guys -- Thanks to the people that have contacted the DZ owners or me about donating equipment -- but please tell all your friends and fellow jumpers (if they're not one in the same) that Indiana Skydiving Academy is still in dire need of anything they can get if they're going to reopen this spring. Imagine your DZ losing literally every single piece of skydiving related equipment ... that's a lot of stuff to replace. Blue ones ... Sure. This is the guy that manages the DZ. ward@indianaskydivingacademy.com Wendy "Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used u

We have more folks in need. Bo and Paula Coody, owners of Sydive Goshen (now Indiana Skydive Academy) lost all of their student gear, tandem rigs and personal gear in a fire at the building they store the equipment in for the cold season (here we call that everything but July). The only thing skydive-related they have left are 2 canopies that were out for repair and a pull up cord. This could mean the end of business for them unless they are able to recover a fair amount of the cost of the lost equipment. If anyone is interested in helping out by donating equipment or money, please let me know as soon as you can. Wendy Behr TeamFunnel20@aol.com Thank you. "Da Bomb: Final Answer" Too many scoville units to eat straight, but great mixed with lots of things, from cream cheese to dip crackers into, to the usual chili that needs spicing up. It's expensive, comes with a dropper of sorts, and is worth every penny. Usual "Da Bomb" is good for use straight on foods. No droppers involved. You have all the best vibes I can muster from here, my friend. We're supposed to bury our parents, not our children. I've always said that I just don't know if I could go on if I lost my girls. I don't even want to *begin* to imagine what you've been through this past week. I'm so relieved that you have this chance to keep loving your child, not your child's memory. And thanks for sharing that with the group. I, at least, needed a little perspective today. Brian, If I didn't know what I know when I knew it, I know I'd have known enough to know to know to do you. Just shut up and get back up to SDC. You coming to the XMas party? Bringing the run-away dog? Lemme know -- cause I'll bring my screen repair kit if you are Wendy "Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used u

Oh my gawd Bo, I'm Captain Kirk. You had to post this? Like I wasn't depressed enough already? Wendy "Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used u

OK, honey. Is the right answer: it takes only you, a fluffy matching bra and panty set, and some fur lined handcuffs to get me going? If so, should I post the photo? uh oh -- not a 'bandwagon' fan, but I really thought you were talking about Rainbo. C'mon, who wouldn't? I dunno about this weekend. Kids got soccer games, horseback riding lessons and all... BTW -- Marlins still SUCK! Wendy "Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used u

(Emma, getcher popcorn!) Sports fan? Right! I've been deep sea fishing! Reel the marlin in a little, let it get away a smidge in order for it to get tired, then do the BIG reel in! Dude, I'm just impressed that you can SPELL sports! Way to go! As for the whole misinterpretation thing -- if you want to say something, say it in plain language. Enough with the references! I wasn't the only one who mistook your statement about the lovable losers (you'll recall Rainbo's post)! I still love you though... Emma, isn't your comfy chair taken by a gimp with lots of pins and needles (external AND internal!)! How is he, anyway? Haven't seen him since eeneR and I showed to spank him in the hospital (you should have seen him struggling to turn over so we could do that). Yup. Get your popcorn. This could get ugly, no matter tonight's turnout. Do they still tar and feather folks? How about goat skins and chicken blood? *sniff sniff* Thanks for the backup, hon. OK, Bo. Now that I know you're anti-Chicago and should be banned from anything with the name 'Chicago' in it, care to call tonights game? Have some balls. IF you can find them... Wendy "Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used u

I wouldn't call anything Rainbo does *professional*. But yes, pyrotechnics is a hobby we share. He and I could blow up Bo in stereo. Hey Bo -- don't step on the orange cord... People from Indiana are attracted to lovable losers? I wouldn't get too close to Rainbo this weekend... Wendy "Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used u

Could you aim for Sammy? I hate that guy.... Admit it. When he splintered the bat last night you wanted to grab it to see if it would float... Bo. I know who owns the house that has the Budweiser Ad on the roof. I say we perch there tonight and take aim for Marlins # 25 Ugh. Was the painful last night or what? Rainbo. Please get a job. And yes, change the avatar. Button your shirt. Stand up straight. Don't run with scissors. Always listen to your mother. Close cover before striking. Some restrictions may apply. Did I miss anything? Me? Bored? Naaaah..... I think Renee should quit her current job and go to work on the demolition derby circuit. Or maybe a carnie at the bumper cars? Wendy "Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used u

eeneR, You didn't tell the folks how you (almost) refused to go to the hospital! Now, how about that bowling match? !
