My marriage lasted exactly 7 years (to the day); engaged and living together for 1 year before that and dating for 2 years before that, for a total of 10 years. In retrospective, 5 years too long ... I should have bailed out after 2 years of being maried . I personally no longer see a purpose in marriage ... I don't think I ever did ... I just followed the traditional thinking that being married is a measure of one's success. I'm no longer that insecure

Before your post gets clasified as "personal attack" and removed, I'm glad I got a chance to read and enjoy it ... Personally, I reached a point where short , angry, stupid men can't get me all worked up anymore; it is one of the things I enjoy about getting older

You're just using him for sex, aren't you? Not anymore ... ... and in reality, I never was. If I were practical and not a hopeless romantic, I would have kept it at that level ... in which case it would have not lasted for a year and a half ...

What makes it even more “tough” for me is the expectation (perceived or otherwise) that we should “tough it up” and accept that that’s the way it is. Yeah, we supposed to be tough, know and accept the risk, blah-blah-blah … we are skydivers, but we’re also human ...

The formula accounts for that. Assuming she's, say, 38, that makes you 53. Thus yielding: (53/2 +7= 33.5) = (You're not a perv.) Interesting ... (38/2 + 7 = 26) Phew ... so I'm not a "craddle robber" after all !!! That, unless there is a double standard applied when the age difference goes the other way around ... which often is the case. For the record, I am now 40 and he is 28 ... and I've called it quits because we don't see things, any things, with the same eye/mind. I know ... DUH!!! It is absolutely ridiculous that I tought things could go any other way ... O

Funny ... I was just contemplating starting a thread about this; I keep meeting people (i.e. guys) that have somehow "lost" their wedding rings. A skydiver friend explained this to me with a succinct sentence: “skydiving men are cheating bastards … while skydiving women are attention whores” . O
