there are other competions than distance.... but no one can tell you what is better, everyone fly's their canopy different, i've always like the high loadings, 2.5 or 2.6....it fits my flying style better, but other people don't do as well under a higher loading, and they prefer something in the 2.2 or 2.3 range. try them out, put some jumps on them, and decide what will do best for you. peace out ninja's

while it maybe a version, i doubt it being a ground launch specific canopy it will be built with the reinforcing to make it thru an opening, that just my theory on it. could be wrong though. peace out ninja's

The age old question... under 18?
skygod7777 replied to Zaccutt's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
don't know about canada but at my dz in richmond we'll let you do the aff course or static line at 16 with parent consent....i'm pretty sure anyway. too bad my dad's old dz isn't open still, we let people jump at 16 with parent consent also. but skydive wayne county if you want to make the treck down here. later -
i loved my heatwaves....i had a 135 a 120 and a 100....i put about 500 jumps on my 120, it was great......hell my 100 i really liked but i had ordered a vx at the same time i got my 100 so i just sent i back (i only paid 100 dollars for it and that was just for the artwork under it, had my dz's name on it). great parachutes, and great prices on them. too bad they're not around anymore. later

i can tell you that just seeing one fly you'll know it's a better canopy......i only put 2 jumps on one and the first jump i knew it was a much better canopy than anything i've jumped.....it's amazing, the performance gain without even having it dialed in is incredible. later

i went down the the farm from ohio for a 139 dollar all you can jump boogie...the weather was kind of shitty, but it worked out that i had a really good time. people down there are really cool, i had a cut-away on my first jump and some locals went and found all my stuff, i walked in the woods for and hour and a half and came up with nothing, locals found it in notime and didn't even ask for anything, i offered beer, jumps, anything and they wouldn't take it. great place. i will be returing soon for sure.

icarus has also be trying to get rid of the fx for at least 4 years..........when i bought my first one simon told me they wanted to get rid of the fx line, that the crossfire was close in performance that they didn't think they needed another canopy between the vx and crossfire, i disagree, but the fact is they have wanted to get the fx off the market for a while........i dont' know why, i loved my fx, hell i'm jumping and fx right now because i don't have money to buy a new canopy, and it fly's great.........maybe it's just because the fx is one of the first x-braced out on the market, and it's "old" technology and they just want something better. later

i like number one better, and the second is just cropped down to cut out some of the picture and it make it look bigger but it's not, i think anyway. later

skygod7777 replied to frost's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
i can........i had a neptune that always told me i was lower than i was, now it had some other problems also, but once i sent it back and got another one it defintally told me i was turning higher......i never really used it for set up anyway, i just got it as a toy to see how high i was turning and all the other cool things it did........hell i sold it 2 months after i got it fixed because i was done with the toy. good old eyes and alti 2 for me later -

well you see i go to school thru the summer.......and it's really hard for me to go to school when i can just go make a jump...... i missed 21 days of school so that accounts for most of it at 4.5 hours a day, but in the summer it's 6 hours credited a day, so that's where the extra hours come in. later

CPC - do staff members compete?
skygod7777 replied to AndyMan's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
yea i'll be going for the indiana league this year....the whole thing with having all the meets at aerohio sucked balls......the reason i was told it was held there was because the majority of the people competing where from there, which it cool but also more people would have competed if it was at other dz too.....not bashing you dave at all i understand the like cost benefit kind of deal of you guys driving all the way to green county or to richmond and only having a few more people compete, but in the same respect it that was the reason almost no one from other dz's in the southern part of ohio came up. later -
ok for real this time any info on the JSX
skygod7777 replied to sight_burner's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
the 2.0 cost another 500 bucks so if you paid 3000 for it instead of 2500 then you do have the 2.0. later -
