i was just wondering how many are still in school. i'm still in high school (senior) damn it, i can't wait till i can get out. later
-
it packs bigger due to the material they use (right cobaltdan) it's thicker than the material that PD uses. i think it may be south african material. i know that it feels the same as the PISA canopies. later

well during the summer, and on winter trips i would fit the stereitype kind of. i always color my hair a color. like bright yellow, orange, red, purple, teal, or royal blue. and some other colors sometimes. so i guess i would be one of those skydivers. or that freak that jumps out of planes. but it's kinda funny that when you go to the dz everyone thinks it's normal, or no big deal. later

both rigs are excellent rigs. both very comfortable. and both very freefly safe. but the mirage is a lot more $$, and i don't think it's worth the extra money. for riggers, javelins are much easier to pack, mirages aren't bad, but can be a pain (i don't mind either one). so i would say buy the one you think looks best. later

i didn't jump because i was stuck back in the cave (the gear room packing student rigs), but at least i was warmer than everyone else. i was the only one packing were there was heat. later

yes, i won something finally. later -
well i have about 200 jumps on a hornet, and about 300 on a heatwave 120, and about 200 on a heatwave 100, the canopy is very much different from a hornet. just as others have explained above. but as you "fly the opening" that just means to watch, if you see it starting to go off the the left, just lean a little in your harness, don't and i mean don't grab a rear riser and crank down on it in the opposite direction. you will give yourself line twist, and probably have to cut it away. as to the line twist, if you get it, at that wing loading, it won't be a big deal. you just have to kinda sit for a second, and see what's it's going to do. then try and stay nice and straight in the harness, and you'll spin out. i got line twist a couple of times, and i did what i just said, just sat there for a second, and let it settle down. now if it doesn't start to settle down and stop spinning, it probably isn't coming out. the 120 i wing loaded at 1.625 and the 100 at 1.95. had line twist on both of them before. i had to chop the 120 once, but i know that it was my body position when i pulled, so i fought it for a couple of seconds, and decided that i wasn't getting out of it, so by by main, and hello beautiful reserve. later

well, i got my first 2 rigs payed for by my parents. i started skydiving at the age of 13 i hit some growth spurts, and had to get new ones. now, i have bought my last 2 rigs, i just packed at the dz to get money. it's a quick way to earn money if your fast. and if the dz has some business. later

well, i will jump occasoinally, or when i get an itch, but i'll be going south for about 4 weeks all together this winter(not all at one time). the thing about cold is, i HATE wearing shoes, and when it's cold i have to put them on. why can't it always be warm so kevin, you going to make it out this weekend??? later blue sky's and long swoops kelly "hook low, flare late...........dirt, tumble, dirt..........ouch"

OK Freaks- how did you pick out your rig?
skygod7777 replied to dbattman's topic in Gear and Rigging
well out of the ones you said you are thinking about, they're all freefly safe. so pick witch one you like best, and at the price you want, and buy it. later blue sky's and long swoops kelly "hook low, flare late.......dirt, tumble, dirt.........ouch" -
well if it's windy enough, i take my canopy, hook it up backwords to my rig, and go kite it. and if it's cold enough, i go ski later blue sky's and long swoops kelly "hook low, flare late......dirt, tumble, dirt.........ouch"

well, it's $13 jumps this weekend man, so you can come try them out a lot. and for those other than mountainman the 13 dollar jumps are at skydive wayne county. later blue sky's and long swoops kelly "hook low, flare late...........dirt, tumble, dirt........ouch"

i would go with the NJK, my friend jonny has a NJK, and he puts a pdr 126 in there. if you call javelin, they and ask, they will tell you that a pdr 126 goes in, just a little tighter than say a dash-m 120, tempo 120, or a pdr 113. later blue sky's and long swoops kelly "hook low, flare late...........dirt, tumble, dirt.........ouch"

that's funny, but bad later blue sky's and long swoops kelly "hook low, flare late.......dirt, tumble, dirt.....ouch"
