  1. From what I've read, Dirk seems like a nice guy, but I couldn't help but be mad when I read the below on the Citrusdal site. Scratch, I'm sure they are all cool and just protecting their "own", but dude!!!!!! So, yeah. Dirk 4/6/2002 10:36:45 AM Uhm, I started a website at http://dive.to/dropzone. Tell me what you think, and maybe upload some comments. Just starting out, so there's not much there, but hey, you can upload your own pictures!!! RE: So, yeah. Will 4/7/2002 11:55:34 AM I don't think you *started* anything, I think you STOLE everything.... swak...... Will PS nice pop-ups..... RE: So, yeah. Crazymel 4/7/2002 12:19:10 PM You can't think for yourself or have any, cool, OWN ideas??? PATHETIC!!!! BTW - all those pop-ups will drive an already crazy person over the edge!!!! I cannot believe a SA skydiver could go so low..... RE: So, yeah. Will 4/7/2002 3:24:44 PM >>I cannot believe a SA skydiver could go so >>low..... Pun intended? RE: So, yeah. Dirk 4/8/2002 8:47:52 AM Sorry guys, taken it off. Thought imitation would be the most sincere form of flattery, hehe. And it was something to do in my spare time. RE: So, yeah. Doc 4/8/2002 9:20:57 AM Oops, some toes were trodden on ! RE: So, yeah. Nut 4/8/2002 10:16:44 AM Dirk, Im sure you intentions where good- However, I think that we(citrusdal)have a site and should promote it to the fullest, There are lot of you propeller heads(programmers) out there with great ideas , so help Chunky Butt(louis) to better the site. If it is recognition that your seeking we can put your name @ the bottom of what you did..... I like to think its for the greater glory of the club, your intentions that is...... Otherwise be original.......... RE: So, yeah. Dirk 4/8/2002 10:29:01 AM Peanut, I'm sorry for any trouble I caused. I really only had good intentions and never wanted to make people angry. If the site I put up reflects negatively on the club: my apologies. I only wanted to give something usefull back to skydiving, not make people angry. I see now (after countless flames and criticism) that I went about it the wrong way. This was solely due to my ignorance and I have definitely learnt my lesson. Thanks to everyone who told me I was wrong, I really did not realize the extent to which I had done wrong. The website Louis "Chunky Butt" Stanford 4/8/2002 11:17:35 AM Hah, I missed all the action. Again. Well, Dirk you mullet, I can certainly do with some help... You have a nice concept though, your site did give me an idea, maybe we could have an international news section with a table pulling content from dropzone.com - I'll chat to Ajay and Sangiro and for yay or nay. The website is a mammoth task and I always appreciate any help, however the biggest problem (OK, yes, the XMAS photos issue is still my fault for delaying the launch of the new site) is getting content ie. weekend reports, weekend outlooks (Peanut, remind me to kick your skinnier butt when I see you again for not telling me about the three Cessnas). There are always complaints about the website but yet there's never any content forthcoming from jumpmasters etc. Take the forum for example, I lower myself to talking crap with that Kalahari just to get SOMETHING fresh on the site. Also, the website is primarily a marketing tool, secondly for use by the club members. The only 2 things that are really useful for experienced people is news and forum... which is why I've simplified the new site somewhat around the 5 main uses. I'm certainly not hogging the position as webslave, if someone thinks they can do better, well hey, I'll even throw in a free jump PS. the site also comes with Ajay RE: So, yeah. Papsak 4/8/2002 11:23:40 AM to everybody who has been "flamming" Dirk. GO F$#CK yourseleves.... at least he did try to put something together... and by the way do you guys actually know how many websites are copied from etc etc ...... If you had any criticm re this, lets see your own master piecs on the web, otherwise shut your traps for once, it is not up to you to flame someone for copying a website, it is up to the owner(s) of that site to politely request the removal of copied materiels, IF YOU HAVE PROOF THAT IT WAS YOUR ISEA IN THE FIRST PLACE...... o and peanut, everybody doesn't always just give their time and efforts away to the club.... have some individuality sometimes Thats my bit on this..... If you want to flame me now, please set flame throwers to ultra hot, I like it that way..... Papsak RE: So, yeah. Voivod 4/8/2002 6:10:40 PM This whole discussion is so *censored*ing contradictionary. What is so *censored*ing important about the design of a web-page? I thought we are talking about a tool for distributing information. Fuck it. Copy whatever site you want to, if you think that it's design ( menu structure, graphixs) is useful for a good presentation of what you want to say. There is nothing wrong in stealing good designs. However, the holy sheep dropzone.com is NOT one of those. (Too many frames, useless polls ;-)) go on Dirk RE: So, yeah. Nut 4/9/2002 8:38:18 AM Well , well Papasak, As alaways your there to defend - woo! hooo! you go boy !!! If you had only noticed what I actually said. Must be the "green light" factor. I understand that we all work, well sometimes anyway, It just makes sense to me that if there are any ideas for a web site , then why not make our "quiet" site more lively.I beleive that Dirk has in the past helped Loius - carry on. Our site is getting better, all the time. Rooi liggie Nut RE: So, yeah. Ham 4/9/2002 9:26:09 AM I can't believe that some misguided idiots would actually flame a guy who tries something, albeit not new in their not-so-humble opinion. What I find even more difficult to believe is that Dirk actually felt that he should apologise to these morons. He should have been the one to tell them to go and f@#k themselves, not Papsak. Maybe he is just one of these kinder, gentler souls - all too difficult to find. I find it painful to see how he cringes before your "excellencies". Adding my voice to Papsak and Voivod. Go and .... yourselves. That is all. Life is for the LIVING!!!!!
  2. BOOBIES!!!!! Sexy Boobies. Uneven Boobies. Big Boobies. Small Boobies. Dude - hang in there!!! Things could be a lot worse.....Skreamer could be your neighbour! Life is for the LIVING!!!!!
  3. Scratch - I missed the thread about day-jobs. What do you do? Life is for the LIVING!!!!!
  4. Cool - I was just worried I'll start spinning out of control or something... But I should have known better - it's not like I haven't jumped with booties before. Guess I'm just really desperate to know how my new suit will "feel"!! What's the sentence again for hi-jacking a plane?? Life is for the LIVING!!!!!
  5. I did my AFF training with a jumpsuit with booties (7 jumps) and loved it. Then I did another 7 jumps without booties, but ordered a jumpsuit with booties. As I haven't been able to jump, nor will I be able to jump for a few weeks (damn stupid plane) I was wondering what it will feel like to jump with my new jumpsuit. What can I expect to be different?? Will it effect my turning, fallrate etc??? Told you guys it was a stupid question!! Life is for the LIVING!!!!!
  6. I wear soft lenses, and lost two lenses in 14 jumps!!!! Yeah - landing with one lens missing can screw up your landing a bit, but my worse was trying to see the stupid wind direction with the lens missing. I lost mine purely because my goggles didn't fit snug enough, and I bought a new pair, but haven't jumped with it yet. I never saw any of my lenses again - must have dropped them when I took the goggles off during canopy ride.... Life is for the LIVING!!!!!
  7. I have no jump advise for you (it might have something to do with the fact that I only have 14 jumps
  8. I HATE mornings!!!! I only kinda open my eyes when I hit the shower, and only really wake up about two hours later. And if you really wanna piss me off, ask me to do something as I walk in the office, or phone me before 9 am!!! Life is for the LIVING!!!!!

  11. Baaaaahahahahaha!!!!!! You are funny Skreamer!! Life is for the LIVING!!!!!
  12. If Scratch will wrestle him naked, I'll post my boobies!!!!! Life is for the LIVING!!!!!
  13. I just wanna cry!!!!! The dz sold the plane, so no jumping for a few weeks! At least the dzo is gonna buy a brand new 410, but I won't be able to jump for another 3/4 weeks!!!! I know you guys have the same thing with the weather and shit, but imagine seeing blue, warm skies everyday and not be able to jump!!!!! Plus I wanted to do as many jumps on a 190 before my 170 arrives at the end of April, so I can jump my 170 in Namibia. And now I'm thinking I will not be "current" to do a solo (couldn't jump past 3 weekends due to plane being grounded) and I don't have my A license yet, so I'll have to pay for a jump with a JM again..... Life is for the LIVING!!!!!
  14. Exit the Cessna 4 miles prematurely??? Waaahahahahaha!!!!! Life is for the LIVING!!!!!

    Alti III

Okay - I have a really stupid question - can I engrave my name on the side of my Alti III, or will it "damage" it in any way? I know me, and I will most probably put it down somewhere and forget where - at least if there is some kind of "marking" on it, it might be returned to me.... Life is for the LIVING!!!!!
  24. This sux - I have no idea what you guys are on about....the site is blocked!!!! Life is for the LIVING!!!!!
  25. I feel your pain!!!! Just got an e-mail from my supplier - she received my container (Mirage), Cypres and Reserve, but the main (Sabre2) is only gonna get there in like 3 more weeks. Then I need to ship it out here, which will probably be like another week, and then I'm gonna have to give it to the rigger over here to make sure nothing got damaged in the transport process....But then WHOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!! Life is for the LIVING!!!!!
