  1. I am confused. If he is using the land to let a single cow wander around, how is it miscategorized? Are you arguing it should be categorized as an empty commercial lot because his neighbors have commercial lots and it might someday be used commercially? Not with you on this one. For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.
  2. -1 Bad idea. Just my humble opinion. For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.
  3. I live in the Midwest where a lot of real farms eventually turn into malls and business parks. Real estate taxes are based on the value of the property as it is currently being used - not the potential use. I don't know that it is 'unfair' that someone rents cows or bees to get a lower tax rate on an undeveloped lot. I do think it is unfair to tax someone's real estate on what it could potentially be earning if they sold it to a developer. For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.
  4. If my uncle didn't have balls, would he be my aunt? For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.
  5. OK - How do you feel about 'use tax'. Should over the road truckers have to pay a road tax on top of whatever flat tax you come up with because they are causing more damage to the resource we are maintaining with tax dollars? For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.
  6. I actually followed Nataly's advice and thanked someone who works for me. He seemed to appreciate it and everything should be ok,until or unless he gets a DZ.COM account and determines I only did this because Nataly told me to. For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.
  7. I looked at both websites. You and I have a completely different definition of the word 'unbiased'. I was thinking more along the lines of http://www.btselem.org/about_btselem For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.
  8. I have read enough articles to feel there isn't an absolute truth that will reveal itself to a researcher. It is also difficult to find an unbiased account (if such an account exists). If anybody can recommend what they would consider to be an unbiased book, I'd be interested in reading it. It is clear Israel tends to kick ass. Part of that is because Palestinians tend to bring "knives to a gunfight". For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.
  9. More like a clusterfuck. For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.
  10. I don't have a dog in this fight and I can't begin to speak intelligently about the Israel/Palestine issue, but I would think he was referring to the boundaries of Palestine prior to the 1947 United Nations Partition Plan. That is the area of land bordered by Egypt, Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon (to use your words: "all land currently labelled Israel"). For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.
  11. Hey - I'm on your side. Sounds like good clean fun. I'm just saying if an FAA inspector sitting on the ground saw what you were doing, the pilot might lose his ticket (but I guess that is half the fun). For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.
  12. You can have fun worrying about something that has never happened in recorded history. I'm not saying chasing toilet paper in a Cessna is a bright idea. It isn't particularly safe, but not because of the concerns you mentioned. Most pilots I know would not do this because they might lose focus on other traffic in the air and/or the abrupt maneuvers stressing the airframe. I'd hate to be the pilot who has to defend chasing toilet paper if the FAA is asking the questions. For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.
  13. +1 As soon as the death tax exemption goes back to 2 million from 10 million you will see a lot more A|B trust funds set up to avoid inheritance tax. Most rich people got that way by being smart and somewhat greedy. It is a hard group to take advantage of. For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.
  14. If you could provide a single instance in the history of flight where any of these scenarios ever happened, you might have a point. OTOH, it is easy to creep into aerobatic flight chasing toilet paper and exceed the design limitations of the plane. Intentionally doing this without all occupants wearing parachutes would be busting FAA regs. I'm not saying that happened in this instance though. For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.
  15. There are far more Subchapter S corporations than 'C' corporations, not even taking into account DBA companies. Both Subchapter S and DBA income are taxed on the same 1040 form you submit if you are an employee receiving a wage. His argument is well founded. 18. There is a facebook page up that is rather vitriolic called "Fire Lindsey Stone": http://www.facebook.com/pages/Fire-Lindsey-Stone/303141669801170?fref=ts If you ignore the many rants, there are several excellent posts from loved ones who have buried friends and family members there. Some of the stories brought tears to my eyes. There were several classy responses to a classless act. For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.
