  1. I am mildly annoyed that I have recieved two pieces of USPA generated spam snailmail since I submitted the paperwork for my 'A' license and I haven't received the 'A' license yet. For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.
  2. I guess I found the answer to my $64.00 question. By definition a 'parchutist in command' is not a flight crewmember since the rules governing tandem operations are in: Part 65: Certification: Airmen other than flight crewmembers The FAA does not care or require you to have a 3rd class medical certificate to be a TI, or a rigger, or a mechanic, or several other non flight crewmembers. For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.
  3. It is my understanding that it does not negate the current medical. The specific requirement is: Sec. 61.53 Prohibition on operations during medical deficiency a person who holds a current medical certificate issued under part 67 of this chapter shall not act as pilot in command, or in any other capacity as a required pilot flight crewmember, while that person: (1) Knows or has reason to know of any medical condition that would make the person unable to meet the requirements for the medical certificate necessary for the pilot operation; or (2) Is taking medication or receiving other treatment for a medical condition that results in the person being unable to meet the requirements for the medical certificate necessary for the pilot operation. The 64 dollar question is, "Is a tandem instructor a required pilot flight crewmember?" For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.
  4. If you follow some of the completely legal advice given thus far, you will lose, but I think you understand that. It sucks that decent people have to put up with jerks, but life insn't fair. For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.
  5. Back to the howling old owl in the woods . . . For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.
  6. Isn't that something Al Gore invented? For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.
  7. I was trained to toss the handles an not focus on them in any way other than getting rid of them, so I for one don't consider you retarded. For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.
  8. As long as you correctly logged your jumps and had them signed off, they never expire and will count towards your 25 for an 'A' license. For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.
  9. +1 Living in Ohio, I am interested in all the info I can collect on Florida DZ's for winter jumping. You would be doing yourself a favor responding to the entire forum rather than having one person call you on your cellphone. For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.
  10. I got a 150, but I am clearly not as smart as you since after reading your profile I don't see how anyone could have an 'A' license with 20 jumps. For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.
  11. : 2 : 0 I am up to 23 jumps now. I got everything done for the 'A' license but the jump count. The good news is my dropzone doens't make you buy beer when still on student status. That will be over soon For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.
  12. I made a pseudo-commercial for the Company I work for involving winter gloves. I was practicing for my 'A' license check dive. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYc90SAEpt4 For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.
  13. I would bone the blonde from estonia. For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.
  14. 11/20 Not much better than flipping a coin. For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.
  15. Aren't they less fattening if they are baked? For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.
  16. I've been lurking on the forums for over a year getting a daily fix of BillyVance's NSFW thread and thought I should finally introduce myself. I did my first static line jump in 1978. Just like most first time jumpers I loved it and assumed I would be a full time gravity rat and be a skygod within a year. However, living life got in the way. Fast forward 31 years to my second jump. I went through AFF at Start Skydiving in Lebanon OH. (Great instructors, great facility). I used to get my kicks flying, but the FAA doesn't like to issue 3rd class Medicals to people who snore too much (sleep apnea). The sport is fun - the people in it are great. I've been a SCUBA instructor for 20 years and can testify that skydivers work order, play harder, appear smarter, have whiter teeth (Nataly) and are a whole lot more fun to hang around with. 17. I too am just trying to get feedback. My son is selling popcorn for the boy Scouts. Does anyone think it is a good idea to send me $5.00 and I will send you some Boy Scout Popcorn. It's not like I am trying to sell you something
  18. But in the 1950's Chessman didn't have the luxury of having a fake ID. He had to use a red flashlight to make his victims think he was a cop. It was a well-written book, albeit from a worthless piece of shit author. It does make you think about the decline of society. Remember the good old days when the people on death row were literate? For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.
  19. You would need 5 balloons to represent the nucleus and 4 orbits, or skip representing the nucleus and use 4 balloons. You would have to inflate the innermost balloon first and that would take strong lungs. For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.
  20. I'm just making it all up. Someone told me chicks dig guys who understand particle physics.
  21. Good luck - I think you will need it. What kind of teacher asks for a 3 dimensional model of 3 layers of spherical clouds? If you can somehow find 3 clear spheres of different diameters you could draw 'dots' on the spheres to represent likelihood of electron locations, but that would still be half like a Bohr model since the electron likelihoods aren't really on the same radii. For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.
  22. Maybe they discovered that dark matter is made up of moles and freckles? For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.
  23. Funniest post I have seen For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.
  24. I'm pretty sure I bid on that suit also. If you don't like it, I'll take it off your hands right now for $69.00 I'll even pay shipping so you aren't out any money. For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.
  25. Thanks for the info. I was at the work Stinks boogie Friday Night, but missed Saturday night. Great show Fastrax guys. For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.
