My plan was to head out to the DZ this morning and spend today - Sunday pounding out my solo and coach jumps. But... I'm just really not feeling it. I woke up feeling sick-ish and I'm just in the wrong head-space to be jumping today. The last time I felt like this and forced myself to jump I had two really meh jumps, failed and AFF level, and left the DZ on a really down note. So we'll see how I'm doing tomorrow and plan from there. I do intend to stay out there Saturday night...

0 : 6 : 3 AFF 5 - 8 (video of 8: http://www.vimeo.com/4700459) and two solo jumps. Beer owed for completing AFF, for my first solo jump, and for my first overnight on the dropzone. The Freefly Film Festival was hilarious and I got to meet a ton of dz.commers

That was some weak sauce out here in Glendale.... I could barely tell the difference between that shake, and a cat jumping up on the couch with me.

This is a stupid question but can you make Jell-O shots with anything besides vodka? The best thing I've ever used to make jello shots was vanilla flavored rum. Especially if you serve them with a little whipped cream on top. You get flavors like Peaches & Cream and Strawberries & Cream. REALLY good stuff. And the booze isn't overwhelming... so you can eat a lot of them Uhh... do not attempted to make champagne flavored jello shots out of unflavored gelatin and champagne. That experiment failed miserably. Part lemon jello, part lime jello, with tequila makes for a pretty passable margarita jello shot... served with or without a salted rim

I can't believe no one called you out on that. I saw it. I was going to bring it to his attention this weekend. I'm gonna go broke on beer this weekend! I owe for completing AFF today too I'd have paid up today but it was so late in the day everyone was taking off for the evening. I left as a (very light) sunset load was taking off; hours before sunset. Edit: I start my first solo jumps in the morning too. Damn. I hope I can bring some ciders as well as beer...

Jumping. Hopefully I'll be done with AFF tomorrow (two more levels!) and I can start on my solo jumps this weekend. I'm really looking forward to those

I camp a lot, so I've packed my tent / sleeping bag. With luck, I'll owe beer for completing AFF tomorrow -

I'm in. I stopped by the office this afternoon and got signed up. I'm gonna try and get there early in the morning to get a couple jumps in before the winds get to fast for students. Then I'll just hang out through the afternoon. If there's anything I can do to help, just let me know -
I'm two-wheels-only, so, I always go to the dropzone via bike... I do everything by bike.

An ex of mine used to host people often in San Francisco. She ended up making a long term friend out of it when she hosted a couple who was moving into the area. I think she lives with them now... She ended up surfing a couch in Hawaii for a week earlier this year. Another friend in San Diego had a week long fling with a guy she hosted. I've twice had people ask to stay with me in Los Angeles, and twice had them flake at the last minute. It's a good idea, and combined with a ride-sharing site can really open up some possibilities for travel and making new friends. It's just not right for everyone...

0:2:0 AFF 4 and 5. I failed level 5 I just wasn't in the right head-space and couldn't relax into it. I'm aiming to complete AFF this week. As long as work doesn't get in the way

I might go... it depends on work. If I'm still unemployed at that point, I may try and sign on with DPW to go out early and setup. If I don't go out with DPW, I probably won't go... I helped on a big theme camp last year and it was too much time, money and drama just to entertain some self entitled hippies and ravers.

0 : 0 : 0 I got to spend some time in the Perris wind tunnel on Monday which was a freakin' blast, but it left my arms really sore so I didn't jump that day like I'd planned. Between muscle soreness, SoCal's May Grey, and work I wasn't able to get back out to the DZ at all.

I started AFF last Tuesday. The first jump went flawlessly, so I did 2 & 3 on Thursday. During 3, I flew pretty good and locked on heading really well. Then I checked my alti and started to loose stability a little. My instructor cleared me to do 4 anyway, since he said I was solo for an abnormally long time during that jump. I wasn't so sure, so I did some tunnel time yesterday to work on my body position and gain some confidence. It worked GREAT!

0:3: I made my first jump ever and quickly followed it up with two more. And now I get to make my first contribution to a numbers thread (I've been lurking for a long while )

I've been lurking here for the past several months and since I just started jumping (finally!) I figured it was about time to speak up. I just started at Elsinore and so far the experience has lived up to everything I've dreamed it would be
