  1. My first jump of 2009 was out of a king air!! woohoo Hope that leg heals quickly "If piloting an airplane is flying, then driving a boat is swimming. If you want to experience the element, you have to get out of the vehicle"
  2. If they used a p206 then we know they didn't make it up to 18k. The service ceiling for the 206 is 15700 stock unless im mistaken. "If piloting an airplane is flying, then driving a boat is swimming. If you want to experience the element, you have to get out of the vehicle"
  3. The service ceiling on a NEW 182 is 18100 for a naturally aspirated engine and about 20000 for the turbocharged version. Assuming that this is a 182, its highly unlikely that they routinely get to 18000 for a jump run. About how long did it take to get to altitude? 4. Thanks for all of the responses, I think ive finally figured out what works for me. I do the s folds, straddle the canopy and kind of sit on it then work one corner of the canopy into a corner of the bag and the same for the other. It seems to work pretty well.. Thanks again Andrew "If piloting an airplane is flying, then driving a boat is swimming. If you want to experience the element, you have to get out of the vehicle"
  5. Were getting 26 to 14000 from the king air "If piloting an airplane is flying, then driving a boat is swimming. If you want to experience the element, you have to get out of the vehicle"
  6. I wear regular tennis shoes and they seem to work pretty well....unless a shoelace breaks at 11500 managed not to lose the shoe tho. "If piloting an airplane is flying, then driving a boat is swimming. If you want to experience the element, you have to get out of the vehicle"
  7. That's a really sad thing to hear but just out of curiosity since when do they only send 12 firefighters with 6 engines?....that makes 2 per truck. "If piloting an airplane is flying, then driving a boat is swimming. If you want to experience the element, you have to get out of the vehicle"
  8. The closest tunnel would probably be raeford NC. From what I hear they have a pretty good operation going on. Go to: www.paracletexp.com/ "If piloting an airplane is flying, then driving a boat is swimming. If you want to experience the element, you have to get out of the vehicle"
  9. We jump a king air at west point and students use a check in, check out, up, down, arch(off) as our jump count. I don't know if it is universally done like that but it seems to work as well as anything else. "If piloting an airplane is flying, then driving a boat is swimming. 10. Thanks all, I think im just gonna head back to the DZ next weekend and get some good practice in, sounds like the best thing to do. Hopefully ill find my own little trick to getting the CANOPY into the dbag!! "If piloting an airplane is flying, then driving a boat is swimming. 11. Yea it was a hybrid 280sq ft student canopy I think. real pain in the ass. "If piloting an airplane is flying, then driving a boat is swimming. If you want to experience the element, you have to get out of the vehicle"
  12. Hi, I spent the past weekend learning how to pack so that I can try and work off some of the costs of skydiving. The only part where I had any trouble and still have some trouble is getting the parachute "cacoon" into the dbag. Any tips or tricks that could help? Thanks! 14. Im a new student (only 2 jumps AFF) so I could be wrong. I have been told that with line twists spread the risers and kick out, if this fails to work at 1000ft or above cut away and deploy your reserve. Basically I have been taught never to ride an unlandable canopy below 1000ft. When in doubt whip it out! (This is after I clear student status, our student decision altitude is 2500) "If piloting an airplane is flying, then driving a boat is swimming.
