  4. Thanks all. Didn't realize purchasing used gear was going to be such a taxing process. Appreciate the advice.
  5. Sorry if this is not the place to post this, I have searched and looked only to find out this seams to be the appropriate place. Anyway, Can anyone recommend a safe way to exchange money for goods when buying used equipment from individuals on line. Looking to buy my first rig and have found a few. But each transaction goes south when it comes time to make it happen. I will not forward money before I see the product. I offer to pay shipping, have it checked by my rigger then send money or pay for shipping back if not satisfied. I offer my uspa license number as collateral or security measure, i've offered to submit a cc number as a hold, but everyone wants the money first, and I frankly do not trust that measure. Any ideas?? Thanks in advance.

  11. Looking to buy my first rig. I'm 6'2" about 195 pds with 52 jumps. I have been jumping on student gear. Mostly nav 240's, 220's,260's,300's. All over the map. Looking for advice on what to get. Something comfortable, fast but not to risky at this juncture. Maybe in the 190-220 range? Any advice as far as main, reserve, container etc will be appreciated. What to stay away from, what comfortable, affordable, new vs used......

Does anyone know year round DZ's that are open in the northeast? Whats within driving distance on east coast?
