  2. Best welder I know has BASE # 516, maybe he'll add his comments... Blair
  3. Yo man! Glad to hear you are ok, your experience speaks volumes of your committment. Funny how I also had a mal on a McConkey off a freestander, you remember the vid I'm sure, luckily I missed the tower but hit the ground real hard Anyways, as 515 said we were up there again and I did manage to get off that damn A again without any mishaps. And I also had a FUCKIN hoot dropping through the bat hole off the slider up S. Let's get together soon, like 515 said, let's go do some high altitude jumps C-ya Blair

  6. Chuck Will you be offering the BMI course that was supposed to run that weekend in AL?? Thanks Blair
  7. WHAT?!?! The only reason 1500 is not good enough is because you already have a nice 'private' one like that on your 'own little island' HA, now all we gotta do is get that late model white Ford pick up,.....some hats.....and its ON!! Later Blair
  8. I originally used this as a result of a broken Lanc port, its a lipstick mirror courtesy of Surfia Rodriguez. **Batteries Not Included**
  9. HHHmmmmm, its looking more like getting a 120 for around 1100 (yea they're getting scarce) and getting rid of the 330 for only around 1400 That only leaves me $300 towards the purchase of my S3...errr...uuuumm...I mean Digirebel Blair
  10. So I dropped my PC-110 on the floor last November, and it would not eject the tape. I sent it to Sony for the $269 repair, they gave me the runaround for about a month, then said they were unable to repair the camera so they would "REPLACE" it. Well today arrives a new in box PC 330. I've read a couple of threads here about the 330, but honestly don't know enough about either model to make a decision. Should I keep the 330 or sell it on Ebay and use the $$ for a new PC-120 (also from ebay)?? I mostly shoot tandem videos from the top of my flattop pro, with the occasional side mount on my Hawkeye. Thanks for your help!!! Blair
  11. I don't think helmets should be mandatory, I think its a personal choice. I was happy to comply with the 'rule' this year for a diving board jump. For me personally, I choose to wear a helmet on every jump; save a couple on the legal potato span. Good luck with whatever you decide
  12. Will this help?? Later Blair
  13. Hello everyone, I apologize in advance if this is the wrong forum, or an inappropriate post, but I wanted to hear from other jumpers who may have experience with this situation. At the end of this post is an excerpt from our DZO's 'Weekly Update'. Please read it and let me know what you think. I've already emailed the DZO and asked what is his definition of a 'hook turn'; if this is a blanket statement on anything other than a straight in approach, front riser approach, high speed approach etc. I've not got a response yet, but just wanted to see what y'all thought. Thanks in advance Blair [snip] Safety Tip: Last week my safety tip was about landings and flying your canopy in the landing pattern. I mentioned that no hook turns or radical turns are allowed. I received a couple of emails asking if I am banning these types of turns. The answer to that question is yes. Common sense will tell you that hook turns or radical turns will injure or kill skydivers. If you do not believe so, go back and read every copy of Parachutist Incident Reports. I bet you that in just about every issue you will read about a hook or radical turn landing injuring or killing someone. They simply are unsafe. I am sure that some skydivers will take issue with this approach. Some will say that I am taking away their right to fly a canopy anyway they want. To an extent that may be true. However, as a DZO and an S&TA, I have a right to keep our drop zone safe for everyone. And I believe this a smart and sensible thing to do. I would love to hear your opinion about this subject. You have a right to voice it.
  14. Try searching the Photography and Video Forum

  17. Safire 189 loaded at 1.2:1, this was on recommendations from my DZO, AFF Instructors, and S&TA. I was very happy with the canopy and stayed with it for my first 350+ jumps. Good luck! Blair
