  4. I've been doing it the same way for about the last 300 jumps with 0 problems, but that doesn't mean it will ALWAYS work....any other experiences with this method? Blair
  5. Example #2 (tape) is just like I have my G3 setup, except the extra pocket for the excess line is on the back of the riser, between the 2 pockets for the toggle tips. Thanks Quade! Blair
  6. Uuummm, ok, so how come it 'feels' just the opposite? Thanks Blair
  7. OK, so in lamen's terms, why can't I get my canopy to dive as fast and as steep on these humid June days in the South...anyone else notice this...I never used to, but I guess its more pronounced at higher wing loadings etc??? What's up wit dat??? Thanks Blair
  8. We get $30 for Video only, $40 for stills only, and $50 for video and stills. Customer pays $75 for either and $100 for both. Good thing we're slow this weekend, I'll get to jump off some of that dinero I have on the books with my BOYZ!!!!! C-ya Blair

    First 180

The winds were coming straight down the back wire, so we wer're jumping into a pretty stout crosswind, I thought I'd have the usual 30 left into the wind so I kinda 45'd the windline and jumped into the left half of the 'quadrant'(what do you call those things since there only 3?), so basically I had a complete 180 that put me facing almost directly downwind, I looked up and down for the red light immediately, knew I was underneath the first wire, and opted for a slight correction with the left rear, and landed on the other side, a complete turnaround had me turning over top of the staircase up to the platform where the vader is..and basically at the time it seemed like a much longer landind, and I figured I was about 150' when I made that decision. I've hooked it in out there before and just figured to take the 'easy' way out. BUT, hindsight is 20/20 right, I was immediately dissapointed that I didn't just get it all the way around, but I'm taking my big arse to the potatoe state this month, and I plan on trying a bunch of that. But yea, mostly it was 515's fault, he was showing me all that kewl video of y'alls recent antics from higher altitudes, while I was trying to pack....uuummm and all the feed back he could offer was, yea dude, your PC just took off to the right, you could'a taken another second or so to get up some more air speed...from 320' yea right Hope to see you soon, congrats on #420, hope you went from the right 'altitude'. First 180

Last night off the local A, from 320', first wire set is at 170', so I planned a 2 second delay to open below the first wire, as usual. I, as usual took about 1.5 but still opened below the wire...not by much. DEAD 180, rear-risered just past the tower to the other side, deployed my brakes and set it down in the short grass. I knew it was only a matter of time, but that's why we plan our jumps the way we do. We used to do this tower from the same side routinely from 400', same delay...last night that would've put me on the wires. Thanks to 515 for the guidance, keep thinking up those theories and we'll keep testing them.
  11. There's a couple of kewl kats from South kakalakie that were doind 2 stacks and such at Bridge Day a couple of years ago...if there is one thing I KNOW to be true about BASE....NEVER say NEVER...and nothing is impossible. Good Luck Blair
  12. Pendejo, Great job, you live, you learn. I too jump a G3 and refuse to leave my excess line unstowed, so I had a rigger sew an elastic keeper on the riser between the top and bottom toggle keepers. Same concept as the elastic do-hicky on your chest strap, just sewn on the back of the riser. Does the job nicely, I don't like to put the excess in the same keeper as the toggle. Good luck to you and the rest of your team this weekend Look forward to seeing you in Chester again sometime. C-ya Pfuego Rodrigez
  13. Funny, that's what Mick said
  14. EXACTLY, it does depend on the site, but the less 'evidence' you leave behind the better.
  15. Bryan, I also use a .42 Macro for belly mount footage, it works great for face shots especially. hhhmm check this out http://www.blincmagazine.com/cgi-bin/gallery/imageFolio.cgi?action=view&link=Span&image=b16.jpg&img=64&tt= That's the .42 in action. Its cropped a bit from the original version, but perhaps it'll give you a reference. I bet the .3 would be nice too. C-ya Blair

    SL jumping

Yo!! Hopefully 704 will post a pic, I know he's at home now doing nothing...with a new camera, and slick computer....but like he said, he's a wus so I'll do it tonight if he hasn't by then. Faber, no problem at all, I used some yesterday off a 240' span, had a nice opening and a very fast, but soft landing. I'll try to send you a compressed vid of it later. Hope all is well for you. Also, I'd rather do a S/L than a PCA, cause all my friends think its 'cool' to throw your PC past you right after the ya, in C-ya. They call it freefall assist Later Blair
  17. I can hear SkymonkeyOne saying right after he hung up the phone with Jari, probably sounded something like this...."NOICE!!!!!"
  18. Somewhere, a fat American BASE jumper is laughing... reply Hahahahahahaha from south kakalakie
  19. OK here's my first goofy photo, thanks to Viking for the help, I'll work on some better chit soon I KNOW I KNOW, I have a custom colored cutaway coming any day now.....blue should stand out much better
  20. I currently only jump a velcro rig, so I don't know, but what's the poop Dex, I expect to have a pin rig one day for wingsuit BASE, but that's off a ways yet, and I'll prolly get a gargoyle. Is it just misrouted or is it a tension issue? Blair
  21. Yo! I got a goofy shot of me geared up in my living room, I've been trying to use it as an avatar, but I can barely post, much less shrink a file enough to post a pic or use as an avatar. If you want me to email it to you I can, but it'll have to be later when I get home on my PC. Its definately kewl to me, but I'm sure I look a fool to everyone else...especially Quade. Too bad my flocking partner can't keep up or I'd have some aerial photos for ya heheheh f-aQ 704 Later Blair
  22. Totally FUKIN UNREAL!!!! The proverbial envelope just went up in smoke. Well done, THANK YOU FOR SHARING this indescribable moment of human flight at its finest. Blair
  23. Right on Blaizetailman, I've gotten myself in sticky situations before, that given a tighter LZ, I would've been toast. Thanks for your reply, and encouraging words....so much to learn. Thanks Blair
