Thanks for posting that, you are right, tell everyone you love, everyday. Thank you to everyone for your thoughts to Tom's family and friends, the PM's. Please keep the stories, pics and well wishes coming, we will make sure his family sees this. Tom ALWAYS made everyone smile, I can even muster one now just reading y'alls posts, thank you from all of us here in the Carolinas, but our hearts also go out to all of y'all everywhere that are Tom's friends and family. We all miss him dearly.... Blair edited, I just read Tom's last post, he truely was preparing for a New Year's 'tradition'. I talked with him last Wednesday and he was taking a nap in the middle of the day...about the time all the rigs are packed and we've had lunch....don't worry brother, we all started a 'tradtition' together that will always continue. Now instead of just being around during the holidays, you are home always.

2) What are your thoughts on performance(wingsuit flight) with a full face helmet vs an open face helmet? Kris. Interesting topic....? I would love to hear your thoughts too. Later Blair Edited to add: Like Tom mentioned above, its not practical for someone like me, but I'd like to hear the theory and real world for those super pilots.

Yo Lou, I'm not sure AT ALL, but I'm HOPING that the Stinger offers more protection in the materials for the shell and liner....ie for head strikes in BASE. I want something with SOME protection, not just a fiberglass cover....not that a Bonehead is that. I don't know the Bonehead helmet either, but personally prefer not to buy from them. Can anyone comment on the construction of the helmet and type of materials used for protective purposes. (I'm sure UC will comment when available) As far as wingsuit flying, it'll be great as well because of the shape, should deflect alot of that headwind right to my phat belly Later Blair

Check out the Stinger I did a search in this forum but didn't find anything on it. I was curious if anyone could tell me more about them from the 'field'? I just bought a new 661 fullface for BASE but I sure hope to have a Stinger instead very soon Later Blair

Yo, I've worn tevas with my PF tracking pants and just larkshead a rubberband to the strap across the top and then hook the snap to it. I don't buy velcro tevas, old river guide habit. That said, the only time I really skydive with sandals on is at the beach boogie

Well I climbed up and down a nice A just to see a >130 off heading by one of the MOST experienced jumpers around the world...I had already decided not to jump due to windspeed/direction, but I'm sure glad I stayed up top to watch and learn. Plus I get this GREAT email from my bros at home on Christmas night, where apparently it was nice weather to jump (see attachment), cause where I'm at the winds howl and the rain pours.....so I'm headed home today

Good call, you are here today....

100 objects, over 300 jumps....F___ing CONGRATS DUDE!!! You SHOULD be proud! Of course, as evident in your post, its not quantity but quality that counts...IMHO. Later 700

edited to add: So we can go fly AGAIN!!!

Yo, I've tried Spectre, Sabre II, Vengence, Saffire...and some LARGE 7-cells, but for skydiving my wingsuits I prefer the PILOT over all others I've tried. The openings are why I went with it, but it also flies and lands great for me loaded at about 1.25 lbs/sq.foot. And because its a midrange 9-cell, it works well with other sub-disciplines I enjoy.....tracking, video, freefly etc. YMMV, Blair

Robi once shoved his stashbag down the back of his pantz for extra cushion on a 220' B jump.....seemed to serve a better purpose than in the side of my cargo pants... Not a ton of protection, but landing on concrete, something is better than nothing.. Later Blair PS all my armor only goes to the base of my spine, but I have a typical WIDE southern phat arse

Yo! Just wanted to thank THE MAN for all the hospitality over the holiday weekend. Even though we couldn't make Moab, OUR little Turkey Boogie was a BLAST!!!!!! Now hurry up and hit the lottery and we'll have that tower built in your yard, that way we don't have to worry about those silly roadblocks. Big thanks to my bros from the Charlotte Crew 515 and 704 as well, post some pics if they aren't too incriminating. I'm so thankful for my BASE bros, and for all the pioneers past and present. Later Blair PS Big THANKS for fixing my BlackJack!! I owe you you huge for that, send me the bill

Sweet jumps!

A little of both I guess...but mainly cause that's what I was 'taught' and have used. Do you know of anyone using a 32"PC/300+canopy in the WS BASE environment? I'd be more than willing to give it some tests. Thanks for the help, I think what I'll do is try the 32 on a GTI/BOC flight first...since that's the only suit I can BASE right now, and I don't think throwing a 32 on my skydiving rig is going to be much help.... later Blair

Thanks UC, I have a couple of 38's one with 30+ and one with 10 jumps or so, both from CR/Asylum. A brand new one from Morpheus also. None if these fit really at all.... I jump Ace/BJ 310 and Troll 285MDV so I tend to lean toward the 38, what do you think? Also are there options for opening up the pouch a little? The comments on the pull are helpful and will give that a try

Thanks everyone

Yo, Reluctantly, I've been working at transitioning from BOC to the suit mounted PC on my V1. Any tips for 1. Packing- I can manage a 24" skydiving PC, but I've not been successful at cramming a 38" internal handle PC (my size/type of choice for WSBASE) into the pouch. I'm thinking F-111 maybe..but that's new turf for me too.. 2. The Pull....What is the technique that works best for you. I've found that trying to pull at a 90degree angle to your leg is not smooth at all. And if I grab, pull down toward my feet to extract, then throw..well it takes awhile but is much cleaner. I've had more linetwists than ever on any of my WS jumps and am just looking for some help as no one in my area (that I know of) is currently using this type of deployment setup with this suit so I kan't git no real life coaching....until 704 gets his V... Thanks in advance, Blair

*** Here are the facts: two beginner jumpers were jumping a beginner object at night. the winds may have been an issue, but both managed to land safely. no harm no foul. 2 Beginner jumpers in 'shifty, gusty winds' on a beginner object? If the winds were 'questionable' and they were 'beginners' wouldn't a 'no go' call be the best idea for those jumpers?? 2000' TV tower is far from a beginner object, at least where I'm from. And apparently where YOU are from too according to this account. And if this is JT Holmes, the ex skibasewannabegod, well nuff said, sorry for wasting the bandwith sangrio... I won't even comment on his packing posts..... And if its not, then whomever should seek some solid BASE advice, especially if you are going to make illegal jumps in the states. Later Blair

Ganja, Let's not cast stones, 'we' (NCBASE jumpers) already look bad as it is....... keep that shite in the PM's Later Blair
