Not to hijack....but have you ever experienced the white loop being trapped in the brake setting cat eye when unstowing the brakes on a slider down jump with the LRM? Effectively giving you what feels like a brake hang-up??...anyone...anyone...? Thanks Blair edit for thread title ~TA

I had 139 BASE jumps from 18 different objects....and about 200 wingsuit skydives. First suit is GTI. YMMV. Later Blair

That was a SICK jump and James' flights were AMAZING. Even after a rodeo, he flew upstream for awhile. Thanks for sharing the video, although memory burn is nice O and Perry, thanks for helping me dry my Troll Saturday afternoon.... Later Blair

Less than 20 jumps, off an Antenna, triple front flip.... From around 1800' though with a nice little tailwind You can view it on this VIDEO right towards the end. I've only done aerials on tall slider up jumps, that's because I've never been properly trained for the sub-terminal aerials...which is highly reccommended. 704 and I have talked about possibly going through some training, maybe this fall? Of course, a wise man once told me..... "C'mon man, aerials are SSSOOOO 90's.."

Hey Lou, THANKS!!! for the links! 704 should be all over that....but I was hoping you could post some info on BRACKETS for jumping smoke with wingsuits. Particularly a suitable cutaway system for an 'over the bootie' type bracket, not so much as how to attach the smoke to you, but how and where to attach a cutaway 'handle' on the outside of a wingsuit.......photos are great as 704 can fabricate just about anything....except a packing machine. Thanks again, Blair PS O do you have any personal feedback to offer on any of the suppliers you listed? I figured most of your smoke comes from work, but if you've bought any on the open market how'd it go? Edited to add: Excuse please if this is all covered in the book, so I just sent my $$$ to you skymonkey

Avery, That you would send me such a great DVD and hat as well! Muchas Gracias!!

NSFW!!! Yo thanks D, Was a pleasure, now you know I REALLY jump, as apposed to your lucid envisionment of me solely as a drug pushin', stripper mad, ground crew from hell.

Hey man, Hope this email finds you well. I was reading your posts about summerfest and had a couple of V1 questions for you. I too have about 40 or so skydives with it, and yes, I too though....'so much wing' for quite awhile. 1. what do you PRIMARILY use the wing gripper for...pitch control?? Also, what have you found to be the optimal postion for you legs for max flight ...specifically which way do you point you toes. On my GTI, I got as wide and flat as possible, and was able to point my toes outward. In the V-1 it seems my toes end up more pointing in and the pressure is primarily on the outsides of my calves to ankle... My best flights are REALLY incredible, but I still have at least 30% or more to get from this suit..easy . Any other tips you've picked up to share with a brother would be greatly appreciated.

Yo! No regrets on BASE, I DO regret living in a place where I must sneak around in questionable conditions, under the cover of dark just to persue my love. But hell, that's nothing that a few 10's of thousands of dollars and a few international trips can't fix I've made some incredible and irreplaceable friends, and my journey is still beginning. And the jumps....well that's what keeps me going. Like last night, me, my mentor and a good friend from ...well all over. Nothing too exotic, slider down from 315' off an A, all hand held solos.... but we reveled in the moment, 3 guys who'd probaly have never met otherwise and I'll know them for life.

Yo! I too had my first skydive on a Prodigy this past weekend. I was WAY impressed with the performance of this suit. This suit is PERFECT for beginners, but will also come in handy for the experienced pilot as well. I attached a couple of video grabs from a 2-way skydive, I was in my V1 and my buddy was in the Prodigy, he only had 1 GTI jump and 2 Prodigy jumps prior to this one. Thanks to Morpheus Tech for sending the demo, and Phoenix-Fly for making this suit which is sure to open the door to many new flyers! Truly another human flight innovation! Later Blair

Righto Tom, I should've clarified, I don't 'really' consider wingsuit as a 'terminal' jump, even though I know your vertical decent rate is decreased significantly, your horizontal speed increases greatly ...hence one of the reasons I use a 38" on WS BASE jumps. I think I'm familiar with the fatality you are referring, and wasn't this on a 'hacky' style handle? I do understand what you are saying, just wanted to clarify my statement. Later Blair

I don't have any experience with a floating handle PC, although I've considered it for my 38's...I only use 38" both vented and not for sub T slider ups...and I WOULD feel comfortable using a 32" for the 8 second delay. Now I always use 32" Vented for terminal, but I've considered going bigger when using a tracking suit. I jump 310 sq foot canopies both vented and non, and have good results with the above setups. I'm 'guessing' the reason folks tend not to use floating handles on 32's is that is 'usually' a terminal PC, whereas my understanding is that most PC/bridle entanglements have been documented in the sub-terminal environment. Except in skydiving...but of course you know, this aint skydiving Read....'guessing' and 'usually' etc, cause I don't really know, just sharing what works well for me with the larger-ish canopies. YMMV Later Blair

Last Saturday did 97 seconds avg 79MPH in a PF track suit, that was logged by Protrac. Also 5th of May logged a 48 second flight at 42MPH avg from 4800' helo exit on the V1, also logged by protrac....am currently working on understanding and implementing GPS into my flights. Will post results from there ASAP. Thanks Blair O PS: I'm a fat american at 235 exit weight and 6'3" tall....

Are you providing your new GAP-I's with their own 'strap on' or do we have to share yours? Also, how about the low-pull-ometers that seem to permeate ALL your gear, will we recieve one of those too? Gapmanship....and I thought it was only a game. Luv, Blair
