    I believe the yellow material is made of coton,it's a kind of sleeve, surrounding the centerline....and this is a COBRA, by EAG Parachute Ent.

    I also have Victor III ( an older model, 1996) with a Skyhook retrofit, however, without the small pocket, near the RSL shackle, to secure the RSL. For older Vector III, I believe , a small pocket can not be provided. Therefore, in my case, the extra length of the RSL is lodged below the 3-rings, under the webbing cover... Once, and only once, I discovered the extra length of the RSL dislodged, floating around ! I will have to find a way to make this more secure.

    Thanks for all the facts and particularly your images of the Spectra Ripcord from UPT. At the beginning, I was doubtful , especially concerned with a spectra line going through a metal housing and also the tension on the ripcord itself, because of the shock cord, encased in the middle of the line. After seeing one, I have to say, it's simple, clean, and well made. Having a Skyhook on my V3, I like the idea that with the Spectra ripcord, the ripcord could go completly through the metal housing , giving you a certain peace of mind and lastly , no more worries about the swaging at both ends of the metal riprord, but I know, it's slightly unreasonable, since, I believe, (?) metal ripcords are '' put to the test '' , with a 300 lbs load for 3 seconds ... Would I purchase a Spectra ripcord, possibly...

    Good summary erdnarob and interesting info concerning the trim angle of the NITRO... In a few words, the Nitro 1 has fabric from Gelvenor Textiles, which is less slippery; a freely attached leading edge, to provide better stability during flare; small black TCNL Technora lines, an Aramid-based fiber, with UV protection ; black Dacron is used for the lower control lines ; suspension lines are continuous without cascades ; spanwise reinforcement tapes , however the Nitro pack a bit larger than the Nitron; a checkerboard pattern on the center cell which is not available on the Nitron ( Nitro2 as a different and newer pattern ); a different slider killing system with heavier lines ; and semi-curved winglets on top of the canopy ... The Nitro is available from 78sqft to 150 sqft.

    Certainly from French descent, the Jalbert family name is in the records as one of the first families coming to French Canada... As a young boy, Domina Jalbert moved to USA with his family, however, he came back to Québec for his studies. ( grade 6 ) . Later, the family returned to America, looking for work ; half a million French Canadians did the same. The family was poor, his mother made him kites, toys were too expensive !
