It was the only dive I got to make that weekend , and I got so into the dive I diddn't look down until pull time (and diddn't recognize a damn thing) Oh well , i guess it was kinda my fault . But they still shouldn't of taken 27 seconds in the door!!!!!

I think it was for orbitz gum or something
-
Screw airspeed , at nationals on sunday afternoon Airspeed 8 screwed our spot . our whole 5-way freefly opened up over I-80 and landed 3 miles out!!
-
Has anyone seen that gum commercial where there is a picture of a smiling freeflier on the refrigerator? Its pretty cool , the peices of gum come down and whiten his teeth

space boogie , by acid germs maybe?

Stable headdown- a helpful hint for beginners.

you can car surf down a bumpy road at 120 mph and try to simulate flying in peoples burbles -
there is a slight risk , i mean think about this scenario Parachute open pull toggles , turns into wad of crap behind you odds are it will open , but there is a slim chance that it wont . i think it's good to find the stall point of a canopy , but i don't think it's nescesary in any situation to collapse it and keep it there

whoa 136 on your head is sloooow . how much do you weigh? 80 lbs??
-
I am 6'3" and 290 out the door . when i fly head down i am usually stuck in a huge daffey with arms all the way out to stay with all the lightweights @165 . I am in desperate need of a new jumpsuit though . I have a tony suit tie-flie it has thick baggy fabric , but only has one layer . Once you get more comfortable with the head down position , you learn how to slow it down without even thinking about it .

I was wanting some of your opinions on triple risers . what would I gain from a pair on a crossfire loaded at 2.0?
-
dont rush it , you'll know when the time is right , and i would suggest getting a different canopy for hook turns . and also yes it would make your spot shorter , but so does hanging in deeeep brakes
-
I actually shortened the lenghth of the brake lines on my xfire and like it better with the shorter toggle stroke . it's just at the point when you pull a front riser down it takes all the slack out of the brake line but does not pull the tail down . I have yet to try a cobalt , but it better be one hell of a canopy to hold up to my crossfire , because i like the long dives and the amount of lift left at the last point of your flare . from what I hear the cobalt has a short recovery arc and a "mushy" flare

High Performace Canopies LOW JUMP NUMBERS!!!!!
freeflyswc replied to freeflyz's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
holy S#!t man , Dont get me wrong i'm a jumper with about your # of jumps and I fly a wing loading of 1.98 on my xfire , but 180-360!!! dont you think thats a little much . I do 180 hooks or 270 carves and get probably just as much speed . why chance it so early? you might think your just gods gift to canopy flying but you are still in the learning curve a little bit . I also beleive that you wont learn anything if you dont try it . So go big be safe have fun -
if you were going to pull on a left front riser and a right rear riser the front riser would make the canopy want to dive left while the rear riser would be wanting to turn the opposite direction and pull out of the dive , not to mention on a high performance canopy it would probrably harder than heck to pull them both and hold them . think about it , some people flare with rear risers

I think the go fast drink sucks , the can is cool , but i actually like the tangy red bull taste . that wakes you up as much as the other stuff in them

Reflex,main riser coverage,secondary???
freeflyswc replied to ChileRelleno's topic in Gear and Rigging
chile , I've been jumping a reflex for the last 300+ jumps (all freefly) , and i have never had my tuck tabs on my risers come open . My main flap comes open all the time )not good) , but thats because my container was built for a 210 and I have a 149 xfire in it .I just ordered a new voodoo about 2 months ago so that will be fixed soon. By the way if anyone want to buy my reflex check my classifieds! -
Reflex,main riser coverage,secondary???
freeflyswc replied to ChileRelleno's topic in Gear and Rigging
yoshi , your tuck tabs are always coming out because your rigger put to much material in the molars of your freebag , have suave or whoever your rigger is make bigger folds instead of putting all that material up top . -
whats up lew! (vern here) the weekend before the boogie is a hot air baloon convention . there will be over 50 balloons , a few of them have been confirmed for jumping out of . I think they cost 90$ , but i'm sure a little persuasion of boobage showing will drop the price .. later lew

Buy my Jumpsuit or get my A License taken care of? hmmmmmmm
freeflyswc replied to Viking's topic in The Bonfire
get the tony suit . Unless they make you pay $TUDENT rates then get your license and buy a rig , altimiter , helmet Ya know max out all the old credit cards -
Does anyone jump with the packing powertools around their neck? I used to untill I started thinking "what if that got snagged on a door or something on exit? well , it'd probrably cut your head off or strangle you , because that cypress loop isn't gonna break

What would be your dream canopy? (type size color)

what happens if you don't file an extension? I diddn't owe anything so does it matter?

I've been hanging out/working at a drop zone since I was 9 ,so I kinda started at the bottom (toilet scrubber , weed puller , trash picker upper ).It's been 10 long years since then and now I have been promoted to a master of the custodial arts , gardener , and skilled plumber j/k. Every weekend I pack a few student rigs and work at the local gear store (paraquip) I dont really get paid , I just get my gear at cost and discounted jumps
-
I Might be a little late at posting this , but if you only have thirty five jumps , I think you should be more concerned about getting to the ground safely and getting to be a better skydiver . If your not going to quit the sport tomorrow why rush learning how to swoop ?
-
the right pilot can get a canopy (even a spectre) to swoop long distances. I've seen mike ortiz swoop a spectre 1/2 through skydive chicago's hanger VERY Impressive , untill rook made it to the other side with his velocity . if you really want to swoop , get a canopy meant for it . landing a canopy like a crossfire or cobalt etc. straight in , or with slight riser inputs is safer (in my opinion ) than hooking the s#!t out of a spectre for the same swoop . also I think that the longer recovery arc gives you slightly more room for error on the altitude you start your "hook" turn
