  6. Some friends and I are thinking about organizing an under 40 big way for later in the season. Right now I am just trying to find out if there will be enough interest for the event to even be possible. Ideally, the size will be around a 40-way. The plan is to host the event in the southeast most likely in GA or FL sometime between August-October. If you would be interested in participating send me a PM or e-mail me at gseebs@gmail.com. 8. My teammate and I are looking for two more people interested in competing on an intermediate team for the 2010 season. We plan on competing in the local GSL meets as well as possibly doing some FSL meets with the goal to be going to USPA nationals. Team would be based out of Skydive The Farm in Rockmart, GA. Tentative plan would be around 100 jumps and 10 tunnel hours throughout the year with flexibility based on time/finances. We have both have tunnel experience with the AA dive pool at point and tail. PM me if interested and I can give more details. Is it bad when I am consistently dreaming about skydiving?

  12. One hour of time is great for learning and advancing your skill set but you also need to go in with the understanding that it is not going to instantly make you an expert or anything like that. Just wanted to say keep that in mind. Ari Perelman is my coach and he is fantastic. Good both on his belly and at FF. He is on tunnelcoach.com so you can find him there. If you want any more info just PM me. Is it bad when I am consistently dreaming about skydiving?
  13. I would spend part on a canopy course and the rest would go to tunnel time and coaching while there! Is it bad when I am consistently dreaming about skydiving?
  14. I have demoed a GAS and own an Ozone. I loved the GAS and did not have any troubles with it fogging up. With respect to safety no skydiving helmet is really going to give you 100% protection if you just have an insanely hard landing. However, the D3O material in the GAS is supposed to be more impact absorbing than the standard skydiving helmet, including the Mamba. Personally I like non-flip visors as I believe they give you a larger field of view. In addition, I have seen people's visors come up in freefall and depending on what you are doing this may pose issues. Especially if you want to do serious FS and are looking to bang out points! This is just two cents from a noob. Is it bad when I am consistently dreaming about skydiving?
  15. I only have a little over 2 hours in the tunnel and already I have been kicked in the face and kicked people in the face. I am definitely glad I have a full face. Just my 2 cents. Also, it is a Factory Diver and it works great. Is it bad when I am consistently dreaming about skydiving?

  17. When you come back by find the kid in the neon orange and black and say hey. I love The Farm. Also, I would def take Kathleen's advice and come out this weekend it should be amazing. Is it bad when I am consistently dreaming about skydiving?
  18. I have jumped at two different DZ's in the ATL area, Skydive Atlanta and The Farm. Both are great places but in my limited experience it has been easier for me to get on loads doing something bigger than a 2-way at the farm. Either way I am sure you would be very happy. If you do happen to go to The Farm, which I would HIGHLY recommend, and want to do some belly jumping ask for Greg and if I am there I would be more than happy to jump with you and find other people willing to do so. 20. Hey all I will be in clewiston this upcoming Saturday night and sunday and was looking to find some belly people to jump with. If you jump here or know someone who might let me know. Thanks in advance. Is it bad when I am consistently dreaming about skydiving?
  21. I would also check out Mike G at Chuting Star. www.chutingstargear.com He has some deals on there and his prices are always good. Is it bad when I am consistently dreaming about skydiving?
  22. Just demoed one of these on Sunday. It was amazing. I prefer to jump a full face that does not have a flip-up visor just to eliminate the chance that it could flip up while in freefall. Only problem is that the other helmets I have worn tend to fog up in the plane or even sometimes under canopy, even while breathing out of my mouth through the vent. Jumped this thing and intentionally breathed out through my nose in the plane with no fogging at all. Like Mike said the tightening system is very easy to use and secures the helmet extremely well. I love this helmet and as soon as I get some more cash in my hands I'll be heading to chuting star to pick one up! Is it bad when I am consistently dreaming about skydiving?

    Skydive The Farm

Having only jumped at 4 different DZ's my knowledge is a little bit limited but I am absolutely in love with the farm. At first I was weary to jump there as my home DZ WAS a different one in GA. After making my second visit to the farm I can assuredly say that I have found a skydiving family I hope is willing to keep me. I am a belly flier and although there are a ton of free fliers there, the belly fliers are in no shortage. I met up with the people around and did some very fun and interesting jumps. The people there made me feel welcome and at home. Ultimately it was they who made me want to go back more than anything. Hans is amazing and loves the sport which makes him easy to deal with and also a lot of fun. The after hours vibe is a ton of fun and one that made a lasting impression on not only me but my whuffo friend who came out one night just to hang out. Overall, this place has everything one could ever need in a skydiving home. Chuting Star is located on premise, the packing area is huge, the landing area is nice and big, and the people are phenomenal. I can happily say that The Farm will be my new skydiving home and I have found everything I was looking for.
  24. I will first preface this with the fact that I am new to the sport and my knowledge is limited. I just got my new mirage G4 in last weekend and did some jumps. It fits like a glove and is extremely comfortable. As with many others delivery time was a big deal to me and although quoted 6 weeks it came in right at 4. The inset laterals are amazing and make it feel rock solid. As a student I jumped Vector SE's, Infinities and Javelin's. 99% chance it is due to being custom fit to me but my Mirage is by far the most comfortable and I am extremely happy with my decision. 25. This place was amazing. I am in Ohio on a 4 month assignment and have been jumping at a DZ much closer to my house. They weren't open on Saturday so I decided to make the 3 hour drive down to start. I am extremely glad I did. I walked in with 14 jumps and needed to do some coach jumps to get things checked off on my A card. After filling out my forms they had someone orient me with the DZ and the landing area. About 5 minutes later they had me matched up with a coach. Even though my coach also had to do some camera stuff that day we got three jumps in. Everyone there was extremely nice and many people just introduced themselves. The gear is all less than 3 years old and student gear is Vector 3's with skyhoooks. I had never packed my own canopy so my coach helped me out and I made 2 jumps on my own packs. The plane was in amazing shape and extremely nice. The building was very clean and the whole environment was very professional. Overall, this was one of the best days skydiving I ever had, it was unquestionably worth the drive and I would recommend this place to anyone remotely near the area.
