Bonehead Mamba rocks!
-
Got my card in 10 days. License # 55525. Sweet.
-
Looks like Aerohio it is. Thanks for the info!

They do have 1 event this summer scheduled. That's it. I guess it is pretty chaotic. Thank god I finished my A license quickly. I may have to check out another DZ in Ohio for water training. I'll start looking around.
-
All they tell me is possibly sometime this summer. I'll have to wait and see.
-
I hope to have my B license in a couple of months. Jumps will be easy to get. It's the water training I have to find.
-
Thank's guys. I faxed it a week or so ago. I'll let you know when I get it. I know my yellow card is good to but can't wait for the real card.

I just finished my Class A license. I faxed in my yellow card, so how long does it take to get my new A license card?
-
Just letting you all know as of yesterday I am Class A license certified. A little less than 2 months to do it all. I'm going to be apart of this family for a long time. Next step: buy a rig. Thanks for all the support!!!

Skydiving on TV show - Good for sport
R1DOC replied to bikerxxuk's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I had similar high's and low's. Jumps 5-8 were by far more nerve racking for me than the first 4, but after that It got better. I think after doing flips and rolls I realized how much control I had and that set alot of my fears to rest. I still have some gear fears but that goes away after the first jump of the day. -
I ended up getting the bonehead mamba helmet. I just did 5 jumps with it yesterday and it was great. It is extremely light and the visability was nonobstructive in freefall. It made jumps alot more enjoyable for me. I would highly recommend it as others have. Thanks for all your opinions!!

Just subscribed! Can't wait for first issue.

I have talked to my instructor. He wants me to wait until 20 jumps or so before I use a full face helmet. I'm moving pretty fast toward my A license. I should be able to finish in the next month or so. Thanks for all the info. guys! I am probably going to go for the mamba at this point. As for audible alt. im going to wait. The new neptune 3 comes out in about a month and I want to check that out first before I make a decision.

Some of the audibles seem large, such as the skytronic gfx. Do these bigger audibles have any issues fitting in the Internal pockets of the mamba or other full face helmets?
-
Thank's for all the advice. I wish I could try on all the helmets but there is no dropzone near me in Cleveland that has any. I may have to play the shipping/return game until one fits right. It seems the mamba is popular in alot of your responses. That may be a start. The glasses I wear are oakly half jacket w/ Rx clear lens. It sounds like they should fit well in the helmet. I have heard alot for good things about the havok as well (anybody try one on and able to compare to mamba?). Also, the L&B protrack and optima seem nice. Do these fit well in the internal pocket w/o discomfort? Is the extra money worth the protrack in your opinion? Thank's

I'm looking at getting a full face helmet and audible altimeter(dive computer type). I wear glasses. With the current helmets and audible altimeters what are your recommendations? Thanks in advanced!

Thanks for all of the input. Both my AFF instructor and I will be ordering one this coming week. I'll let you all know my opinions on it after a few jumps.
-
Anybody have one? How do you like it? I was thinking about getting one.

So today I did AFF 3 and 4 here in Ohio. It was alittle windy (15mph), but I was able to control the canopy well with walking landings. Like I stated in my previous posts I was very nervous about my exits as these were going to be my first non-tandem ones. We were flying a c-182. To my chagrin the exit were easy and strait forward and all objectives were met. The first exit today I was shaking before the big plung but the on the second I was more excited than nervous. In the end the "good old", arch was what the exit was all about. Thanks for all the support, this forum rocks!! Now only 21 jumps to go for Class A License. Hopefully i'll do it all in the next 1-2 months. I'll be in Las Vegas April 30th, May 1st,2nd,3rd. Any drop zone recommendations to add a jump to the books? Mark

I did AFF level 1 and 2 this past weekend. Both were done tandem. I have to admit I was terrified on the exit for the first jump but after we were belly down I was fine and meet all of the objectives of the jump. The second was supposed to be solo but my instructor feel a tandem jump would be better because of my exit fear. The second jump was much better after knowing what to expect. This week I will do solo levels 3-5 depending on the weather. The reason I was scared on the exit for the first jump was that I felt such a drop out of the plane until we stabilized. The second jump I felt only a small drop. Most people say they don't feel a drop so I wonder if it was just mental. I am nervous about the first solo exit this week, but I want to get it over with so I can relax alittle. Overall it is more of an intense experience than I thought it would be. I feel like I have something to prove to myself now as I feel "Never give up Never surrender". I let you all know how it goes. Anyone have a similar experience?
