  1. The dealership I worked at a while ago had won the state bid for new police cruisers. We had ordered some 'extras' under the factory order to allow municipalities to get the deal if they didn't get in under the initial bid. With the 'extras', we added lightbars to some and undercover lights to the others (lights in the rear windows). They all came with sirens, and the full array of all the cop toys, less the radios. Well, got the spec sheets one day so we had to take it out. Got clocked by a state trooper doing 147mph with the lights and siren going. I did pull over like a good boy for 2 reasons: 1. This was the state trooper I worked with for 4 years through high school in the grade schools with DARE. 2. He knew my dad Didn't get a ticket, just got chewed out pretty good. The cool part, he never did tell my dad until many years later. ----- ~~~Michael
  2. Bingo...btw, don't take all the credit. I brought up the insurance thing in the other thread too... ----- ~~~Michael

  5. It's his sandbox, he's entitled to his interpretation of the rules. If you don't like them, deal with it. You can deal with a tongue lashing two ways...Cry and hide or say Oooolala...more please. Choose wisely... ----- ~~~Michael
  6. Hopefully we all learned from the DZ fires/hurricanes this past year? Renters insurance isn't much. Just make sure to catalog everything and make sure you have enough to cover your loss. Also, make sure that your skydiving gear is covered - you may have to buy an additional rider to cover it. ----- ~~~Michael
  7. I'm sure there's some good ones out there, but the one's I've seen that have the funniest side stories come from Skydive Greensburg... ----- ~~~Michael
  8. I used to sell wines as a part time form of self employment for a couple years. It was kind of fun actually, go to peoples homes, get them drunk and take their money. Kind of rewarding actually. Anyhow, favorite variation of a wine - from Hungary, it's called a red ausbruch and it comes from several vinyards. The soil that the vines are grown in is generally volcanic slate from a long extinct volcano. The soil gives the grapes a very unique flavor and a very narcotic buzz if you drink to intoxication. The year is not important and I've found many that hold the same characteristics. ahhh...sweet nectar...damn...I'm almost out too. I've never been able to find this on the shelf anywhere and have to order, but it is definitely worth it... ----- ~~~Michael

Ex G/F's family - 3 of her aunts had been married a combined 18 times would be the reason for my comment. They always thought there was something better and they were always trying to out do eachother. None of them ever won though, they were all just screwed in the head looking back now... I do know people in the lifestyle that are perfectly happy. I do know others that it consumed their life so much that it destroyed the intimacy they shared for each other. It's not a lifestyle for all... ----- ~~~Michael

Thanks for reminding me that we live in a disposable society where people continue to believe there is always something better around the corner. ----- ~~~Michael

  17. One of my first cars was like this - '73 Buick, original sticker had been carefully removed and folded in the glove box. Original sticker was $2990 then for a 350 four barrel V-8 refinery hog. I picked it up 14 years later with just over 10k miles on it and it was itching to run. Ended up putting just over 180k miles on it before it threw a rod. With exception to the my current (20k currently) and last vehicle (traded in at 7500), I've driven most of my vehicles well beyond 200k each. ----- ~~~Michael

Used to work at a dealership a long time ago...Other than the back office used for gear storage, all those spots have been checked off the list. You need to have keys to the place to open everything up for your use.

  21. Thanks for the explanation - it was a hypothetical. I don't have any of my photos I'd consider 'worthy' online. Circle C was my intention, but again, thanks for the clarification. ----- ~~~Michael

  24. On the copyright discussion...If I as a photog post my 'work' on my website with a notice that says the photos are copyright me and not to be used for commercial purposes without written consent, where does that leave me? Do I actually need to fill out the copyright paperwork and submit the fee for each item? I thought the copyright 'C' was sufficient. ----- ~~~Michael
