Verizon lied to me when I got my first Blackberry...said it could do what I needed to do. Only problem was, they were charging me for services that would not be available for another 6 months at least. Then they had the gumption to tell me that they could leave me signed up for the services I had signed up for, then I'd be all set for when the service was available. Hmmm...60$ a month for services that don't even exist yet. I don't think so... ----- ~~~Michael

$1.98 low grade 87 octane - ethanol enhanced $2.03 mid grade 89 octane - no ethanol in fuel as I recall yesterday - Central Illinois. OPEC was apparently meeting today (?) or this week about increasing production to bring the cost per barrel down. The don't want to decrease dependence on oil long term. (e.g. they don't want to affect their bank statements) ----- ~~~Michael

What year? If I remember correctly, my balloon jump at the 1997 convention was $55. I'd have to go digging through some old files (if I can even find them), but I believe the Balloon has been 89$ since 2000. ----- ~~~Michael

Not yet, but I do know where it is. First side road we took. Gravel road on the left behind one of the businesses. There were people out and about so I went right instead of left.

Friend in FL did. Car was local so he was able to check it out before he bought. He's had it for over a year now without issues. As with everything, check it out before you buy it. the more expensive it is, the more I want to put my hands on it before I spend the money. ----- ~~~Michael

Btw, even though you have my comments of being attacked, there was never an attack in any of my statement. Just the mere statement that hiding behind the mask give the impression that you're just wanting to stir the pot and nothing else. So, if Mile Hi doesn't want to support the experienced jumpers, why are they bringing in an Otter for the summer? Why are they putting on a Casa boogie in June? I'm obviously missing something here and need to move back and see what it is you're missing too. Edit to add: 78% of your options for the poll were negative responses. Like I said before, if you've got a problem, go sit down with Frank or Brad and figure it out.

It still loses credibility in a lot of people's books. If you're gonna say something have the balls to put your name behind it or don't say it at all. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I respect that. In this case, 'no one' has expressed anything because there isn't a 'body' behind the post. btw, this is something that should/could have been addressed first via the banter and announce lists. There's in issue here and well, this individual has decided to not do anything about it other than sling mud and not figure out what's going on. There are other DZs around where people get a bad vibe. There's a large one here that everyone loves that I've had two nasty experiences with. The vibe sucked, the people sucked, etc. But not everyone felt that way. Was I wrong in feelig the way I did? No. It was the way I felt about the experience. If you don't like the experience, do something to change it. btw, love ya Mar. don't always have to agree with ya, but still love ya!

It's not holding water with me. One - I consider your statement a personal attack on all 3 of us - Apology expected. Two - Annonymous tips do not hold water with me. Three - your statements are leading me to believe that you yourself are adding to the negativity. Four - Frank is doing a ton of things for the experienced jumpers - or do you think he's bringing in the Otter for grins? btw, I used to work at Mile Hi before I moved. I'm in process of building a new webite for them. I built the one currently in place for Denver Skydivers and did build one in the past for Front Range so I don't have any serious commitment to any. Also, I don't live in CO anymore but if I did, I'd probably be able to pick out who you were. ----- ~~~Michael

It is more difficult to work through an issue when 'a little fly said'...If you're having a beef, sit down and chat with Frank or Brad about it and see what they can do to help you out. It's very petty that you bring this to a public forum without dealing with it locally first and choose to do so annomyously. Frank doesn't have a beef with anyone and only wants the DZ to be better. btw, posting annomyously destroys ones credibility and creates the image that one just wants to stir the pot and not accomplish anything. ----- ~~~Michael

Well, recon mission one went well. We located the hospital and drove around some of the current grounds. It now sits in an industrial park so there's a lot of activity around. There are 4 cemetaries and we managed to find one. It appears to be the old one where all the strange stuff happens according to what I've read. most of the gravestones only have a number on them and are very small. There were a few that had been replaced with more modern markers that did indeed have names on them. There are 3 other cemetaries around that we did not immediately find so more research is in the works. And no, we did not find the elm tree from the stories where A. Bookbinder supposedly lives. Jump tickets were raised to 22$ from 21$. This was done at the direction, not the request of the DZOs family. The former DZO was in a Pitts crash approx 1 year ago. The family kept the DZ open against the advice of their peers since it is a risky venture, but the DZ has survived and grown. The $1 increase will be donated by the dz to a non profit fund that is being setup in the former dzos name. The current DZ Mgr thought it was appropriate to advise exactly what the increase was for to the jumpers. Based on the response, it probably would have been easier to just say the cost of living went up and not even have mentioned the fund. But, people will bitch about anything given the chance. ----- ~~~Michael
