I've seen that on a tshirt. I was thinking about buying it. I think "Who Would Jesus Do?" wouldn't go over as well, though...

For what it's worth, my friend actually did have a plane crash in his back yard, which was maybe a half mile from the municipal airport. Thankfully, the pilot survived. His yard wasn't particularly big either, the plane crashed short of it and then skidded across a road into it.

That whole "metabolism slows down" thing that people talk about is a bit of a red herring. People use it to excuse all sorts of bs. The reality is that people lose lean tissue (that burns lots of energy) and replace it with adipose tissue (that burns very little energy). This comes from not doing resistance exercise to maintain and build muscle tissue. Over time, they start gaining weight while eating the same amount. There is no good reason that the average person cannot maintain their muscle mass until well into their sixties. For the record, I'm another one of the those inclined to be pudgy. I managed to get relatively thin and healthy, and have maintained it. Eating well is the most important factor, followed by strength training. Aerobic exercise is good too, but not as vital. Anyway, I've noticed that the formerly fat seem to be the harshest on the currently fat. I guess it's motivation to keep it up, though. Anyway, there is no right to air travel. If you take up two seats, you should pay for two seats. If you compromise the safety of other passengers, well, there's always the bus. Obesity is not the same as congenital disabilities. It is a reversible condition, and, as such, should not be afforded expensive accomodation.

i belive it's called performance mod for safire. you can try to search for it here, it was discussed before. I seem to recall someone saying that the only differences between the Safire and Safire 2 were the lineset and the measuring method. Is this actually the case?

Um, no. It appears to be a way that Bonehead can raise some cash now while deferring some expenses. It's not like they continue doubling after they've matured. I doubt they sell too many of them anyway.

They quoted $750 for a 170, but I think the dollar has weakened against the rand. I'm somewhat inclined to just buy it from Rigs and Things, though, just because the idea of international bank transfers seems a little scary to me. If I don't find something suitable used in the next couple of days, I'm going to order one.

It's called the same thing in English, scoliosis. My friend's sister's friend had it, I think from birth. She had to wear this wacky plastic brace some of the time to correct it. Weird thing was that she was really hor and for some reason I thought it was sexy when she wore the brace over her swimsuit. I must have something wrong with me...

3:0:0 No jumping, but I'll have my beer rig (minus main, still looking) this week, hopefully. Went to a strip club friday with my friend and our girlfriends. Generally can't stand them, but it's fun going with the girls.

Yeah, me too. I always ask for a gear check. I'm confident that I know how everything should look, but that's no reason to not get a second opinion.

Canada actually has a similar amount of guns to the US relative to the number of people there. They just don't shoot each other with much frequency. It isn't guns that are the problem with America, it's the people using them that are the problem.

I got beaten to it. I just wanted the main, but I guess he found someone who wanted the whole rig. So, no dice. I may just break down and order new.

Seriously, if you want to sleep through a plane ride and it's 4+ hours, think ambien or sonata. Xanax may knock you out, but it may also leave you awake and inebriated. The worst part is that you probably won't remember what you did or said. "Traveler's amnesia" is a pretty common side effect of all benzodiazepines (xanax, valium, klonopin, etc.). I actually like plane flight and would only take a sedative on a cross-country red eye.

huh? why do you say that? I don't know if this is what homer is referring to, but can you imagine the updrafts and thermals from a raging inferno below you? Any ideas how a parachute might react to that? Would you pull high or try to out-track the blaze? Can you imagine how a novice would do on a BASE jump in that sort of situation? I think a 1 in 4 chance of survival would be generous.

I'm seriously considering the purchase of a new Hornet as my beer canopy. I'm purchasing a container/reserve/cypres, so I need to sort it out the main shortly. I've been renting Spectres, and I really like them, but I think I'd rather have the glide of a 9-cell. Also, a new Hornet would cost less than a used Spectre. I've been trying to find a used Hornet 170, to no avail. Actually, there doesn't seem to be much of anything used in 170 size. I also really like the idea of color coded line attachment points. Is there any way to demo a Hornet? I'd like to be able to try before I buy. Also, I really, really want a soft-opening canopy. I got whacked by a Sabre 2 two months ago, and I still feel it. I've heard that the Hornet can be brisk. How can this be controlled? Will going up a size in sliders slow down the opening? Anything else I should know about the canopy? Where did you get yours and how much did it cost? Thanks!

There are lots of reasons to vote him tool of the year...

OK. Let's get an improv story going. I'll begin: as I was making dinner... Why is it that people don't take my stories seriously...? What's funny is that she got him invited to last year's Halloween party at the mansion. He got kicked out (and arrested!) for getting in a drunken brawl with a security guard. No more playmates came over to visit after that!

My roommate's ex was a Playboy playmate. Anyway, one day she came over with another playmate and they brought a whole bunch of photos of various things Hef and them had been up to. For the most part, it was fascinating, as there was lots of glorious nudity. Until we got to the photos of them in the tub with Chyna... Uh, man, she's so scary looking with clothes on, but it's ten times worse with them off... It burned my retinas!

It is because the amount of downward force increases when you add weight, while the amount of drag countering the weight stays the same. You keep accelerating until the forces reach equilibrium, which is at a higher speed than before. This equilibrium is known as terminal velocity.

I'm probably going to be there for the weekend between xmas and new year's eve. It should be about a 6 hour drive for me from LA.

Have you thought about Taking a bath in some Nair You will be hairless

Actually, that might be the sensible option. Assuming 128kps, you'll get something like 8-10 albums on each CD in MP3 format, along with song titles and the like. My boss did it, and it's pretty cool. I'm thinking of getting or making a hard-disk based MP3 system for my car so I can have my complete collection with me. Phatnoise (www.phatnoise.com) makes a pimpin' system, but it's a bit pricey and I think I could make one myself with a lot more storage for less money.

It's not the size of the file that matters when converting to CD audio, it's the file length. Generally, you will get 72 minutes onto a CD, though there are 80 minute (and longer) blanks available. Audio quality is pretty dependent on how the files were compressed. They will sound worse than an uncompressed file, but they will sound identical to the source MP3s. Don't even think about taking those CDs and turning them back into MP3s, though. Double compression leads to wacky artifacts.

awwwwwwwwww yeah! ch'aji mokobonili isso??? (yes, that *was* dirty, btw! ) I'm going to have to get Alice to translate. She tries to teach me how to say various filthy things in Korean, but I never remember it.

My favorite cartoon at the moment is Invader Zim... A lot of shows seem to have lots of inside stuff for adults even though they're aimed at kids.
