Any ideas on where to stay for Ballunar? Preferably less than a 10 minute drive... Is there a site that has a map of what hotels are where in the area? Haylee

There are quite a few people from Skydive Houston that will be attending. I'm still trying to find a good place to stay down there - not too far from NASA, but not too expensive either... Haylee

UPDATE: Thanks for all the great info guys! We'll have to get together in town and go out sometime... I've decided to live outside the loop. All I have to do now is pack up all my crap and move by June 6th! (evidently they want me to start ASAP) See ya' around! Haylee

Does anyone have recommendations for where to/not to live in the Houston area? Does anyone know of someone looking for a roommate? I'll be needing to move to the Houston area sometime between mid-June and mid-July... I'll be working at MD Anderson (Medical Center)... Any help is greatly appreciated. Haylee

My favorite toy had to have been my little brother. Unlike those "action" figures and moveable dolls, this toy actually moved on its own! You pinch, hit, kick, bite, etc... and it cries or fights back!!! Although, I can't play like that with him anymore - He's about 10 inches taller than me, and outweighs me by about 50 pounds! He calls me his "little" sister now (even though I'm 6 years older than him). Haylee

We have $18 Otter and $15 Cessna 182 loads at Skydive Houston... May 16-18 we're having TSL #1 with an Otter and a Casa! May 24-26 we're having a Memorial Day Boogie with an Otter and a Casa! (at least that's what we hear...) Depending on how much experience you have with camera - you might be able to do some student/tandem videos and make yourself some jump money! Plenty of freefliers around to play with too! Haylee

I know exactly what you mean. I'm looking for a new job now too! My wonderful boss () told me last week that her funding wasn't being renewed this year. Then she tells me that she's been meaning to let me know this for about 6 weeks - she just kept forgetting! Fortunately, there was a job fair in my field this weekend that I was able to attend

One night a friend and I had the same dream: The two of us go up do do a 2-way - all is going well in the dive - we get to break-off and track away - we dump and look up at wads of canopy: line-over with line-twists (in both of our dreams mind you). Since we had decided to dump early (4500') we both decide to mess with the canopy to see if we can fix it. Start kicking and twisting and pulling on lines trying to find the one that has created the line-over. Keep fighting it to 2000', grab the cutaway handle, look up one last time... and there it is, a perfectly flying canopy. We both had the same dream!!! Not exact though - the canopies were different colors... Haylee

I would say, regardless of whether it's an internal or external interview, send a formal thank you letter (either via the United States Postal Service or via an internal mail system). When I interviewed for another position within my company I sent a letter through the company mail system. Further correspondence was through e-mail. Haylee
