I watched a particulary nasty malfunction from the door of the Shark 2 days ago. One of the PD guys was doing a hop-n-pop for the Para Performance Swoop event with that experimental, detachable pilot chute, bag, slider combo. (I still have no idea how it works) He got a hung slider and was spinning like crazy right on deployment right out the door. He tried to fix it for like 5 seconds and finally chopped it. He still took a good 3-5 second delay after chopping before he deplyed his reserve and was under it at a reasonable altitude. If he had an RSL, he would have had a f$%@ed up reserve deployment. I am big time anti RSL. I want my brain to be the computer, not a lanyard. I am always under my main at 2500, I have 2 audibles and I will chop rather than spend time (more than a few seconds) trying to fix a problem.

I have to bid my vacation next week. I started skydiving after I bid my vacation this year and missed it. Never again....Anyone know when WFFC 2003 is.....Now if I can just get Mom and Dad let me borrow their new Newell Motor Home......They wont even let me drive their car. For some reason they don't trust me with their 900K toy....

Warning! Unairworthy CYPRES Pictured On eBay (Again)
IronMike replied to slotperfect's topic in The Bonfire
As a manager for a railroad, I can say with all certainty that you do NOT want this Cypress. If any of you live aroud Perris and saw the 2 grain cars that were derailed across from March AFB about a month ago, that train was only going 10 MPH. Our UPS trains go 70 MPH. I can guarantee the forces in that crash were horrendous and with God knows what else was in that UPS trailer, these Cypresses are probably damaged. Why take a chance on such an important safety item? What really sucks, when a vehicle train derails with new cars on it. we take a bulldozer and bury the brand new cars even if they are just scratched.....Even Mercedes and Porsches!!!....They wont even sell them to their employees! -
Im really nervous about deployment. Jari and the Bird Man clan is here at Perris and I am told now is the time for me to do my first. I have 350 jumps, all this year but Im still more scared than level 1 AFF........More tomorrow night. I have to work tomorrow night so beer will have to wait....

Damn that Keely! How the hell did you know I had 8 Heinekins?

Lisa, Shut your pie hole! I sell Caddys! I know where you work now. Tristin showed me. You should be afraid, very afraid. Mike

I bought my STS less than a year old for over 20,000 off of sticker with only 12K miles. NEVER buy a new Caddy. However, this car kicks ass and hauls ass. For a little more than a new decked out Accord I got a 300HP Pimp Mobile with GPS, power everything, voice activated phone, OnStar, etc. I just had the windows tinted Limo dark all around and intend to complete the Pimp image with fuzzy dice and curb feelers.

I just pissed my pants for 30 minutes. Leave it to the Brits. There is a new show on Comedy Central that is one of the funniest things I have ever seen. Trigger Happy is on Sunday nights. You have to watch it. All of their pranks are very short so you honestly don't stop laughing the whole show. My favorite was the Bobbies drinking beer, littering and making out with chicks while the real Bobbies were changing the guard at some palace. The tourists didn't know what to think. These guys are great!

Hell, it rained all day here in Perris. We only got 1 load up. We all went and saw Signs, I personally thought is sucked but Mel did a great job and so did those kids. I bet the number of movies I see this year will match the # of rainy days.....2 or 3. Mike

Other than the justice system, I think we have the best system of government in the world. Me running for office cannot change why Im not always proud to be an American. On the global scale, we think our shit-don't-stink. 16000 Indians (the ones that don't live in TeePees) die in a typhoon and its in section C of the LA times under the Victorias Secret Ad. 9-11, in the grand scheme of history, was no big deal. It is only a perceived as a big deal because of the power of the media. If the Holocaust was televised, we would still be freaking out. On the National scale, we are a nation with no true morals. Just like the asshole that stole the go fast tube for the sake of stealing. Our country is full of people like this. That is why me getting elected to anything will not change this. As far as your sign in the yard thing, I CAN put that sign in my yard and the only laws I would be breaking if I put it in your yard would be tresspassing and littering. I don't hate Christians by the way, I consider myself one, I just can't stand Church. Top 10 Reasons I am not Proud to be an American sometimes: 1. Jerry Springer 2. OJ Simpson 3. No Autobahn 4. Welfare 5. Civil Lawsuits 6. All women wear tops except at expensive bars 7. Televangelists 8. Were friends with Canada 9. Drugs are illegal 10. Jump prices just increased

Show me in the constitution where you have the right not to be offended! Fucking everybody in this country seems to think that it is their birthright to never be offended. The reality is, I have the constitutional right to offend you. Everybody also thinks they deserve millions if something bad happens to them. People are suing the airlnes because of Sept. 11! None of the victims deserve money. Shit happens. That is what life insurance is for. Nobody donates millions to the family of the poor guy killed by a drunk driver, just as tragic but on a smaller scale. They are also suing Saudi Arabia and a bunch of other camel jockeys because they harbored terrorists. Why didn't we sue Kansas for harboring Timothy McVeigh? I honestly am not proud to be an American most of the time. This country (except Texas) is full of freeloading people with no real morals or convictions. By the way, I pissed off Jerry Jeff Walker really bad a few years ago. I was supposed to put his guitar on Mary Kay Ash's Gulfstream III because he was playing a benefit concert for retards or something. I forgot and left it in my trunk. Im sure he still hates me.

For Sale: 1 really cool tube. Says "go fast" on it and is slightly dirty. Looks like a big penis in the sky (it really does)$700 obo.... Steve, seriously, with the dragworms that live in and around Perris are you seriously suprised? I told Scott I would sell it back to him cheap after I traded it for crack. Mike

One cold ass Texas morning, 5am on may way to work, too lazy to get gas the night before. A bit of an ice storm froze my gas cap on. I decide, in a not-completly sober yet state, to "defrost" it with my lighter. There was a guy across from me that looked at me like I was the moron that I was.

emergency exit - bail out on main on reserve?
IronMike replied to Newbie's topic in Safety and Training
I think it totally depends on the situation. If the plane were not on fire, and anyone of the pros at Perris were flying the Otter, I would ride it down under 3000. If over bad terrain, Ill take my reserve below 2000. Anything above, Ill go main and take my chances. You also have to think, if you hit anything with ANY forwars momentum with 12 people sitting besides you, belted or not, that is one hell of a lot of kinetic energy stored there. Mike -

Give me ONE example (specific and tangible) of how slavery affects your life today.
-
Kato said -"After 400 years of BLOOD SWEAT AND TEARS we should go quietly away. Fuck that...we contributed a tremendous amount to help making this country what it is today and we also should reap the benefits of that contribution." I have a huge problem with this statement. What blood have YOU shed to make this country great? What have YOU contributed to the country? When did YOU sweat as a slave? When did YOU cry because you were not free? You say WE and include youself with the slaves that lived hundreds of years ago? Shame on you, you disgrase their legacy by comparing your meager modern day problems with their slavery. By the way, you ARE reaping the benefits, we all are. It aint about WE, its about YOU. Live your own life.

In a round-about way, yes. All of America is hyper-sensitive to African American issues. Women, Homosexuals, American Indians or whatever 'group' you want to identify as a 'group' have no-where near the stage, voice or impact for their plight in this country. It is because slavery was so horrible. (So I have heard, wasn't there to see it). The racism in the 60's and before should be more sensitive because there are people alive today that experienced it. I am far more ashamed of that because there are people alive today that promoted that kind of crap. My big problem with this whole deal is everbody in America seems to want to get paid for shit they did not do or get paid because something horrible happened to them or their family. I saw some asshole complaining that he did not get enough money from 911 funds when his sister was killed. His SISTER! Gimme a break. Money will never solve the wrongs this country has done in the past, all it will do is piss everybody off.

Who goes to jail longer, the drug seller or the drug buyer? Fellow Africans sold them into slavery, others bought them. Yes, there were atrocities on both sides, but the USA is the only one with money, so lets sue them. Slavery, black on black, is still practied in Africa, and even in New York at some African Embassys. Get over it. It happened, it sucked, none of us was alive to see it, none of us deserve shit. It could all be made up fiction for all we know, like the Moon landing. Mike
