His surviving crew and even the Captain of the Jap sub that sank him defended him. He was finally exonerated by Congress in 2000. The story of this sinking and what happened to the survivors is one of the most vile of WW2. Unfortunately, Capt. McVeigh commited suicide from the shame he felt. It was not one of the Navys proudest episodes nor will this Canadian Friendly Fire incident be one of the USAF's. Mike

Does anyone know if the structural frame of the plane is also wood???? Or is it metal/aluminum framed??? The whole dang thing is spruce. It was a big waste of money. Just got back from a week in Texas.....DAMN, I forgot how many beautiful women are there.....10 times better than CA and they aren't full of silicone and they can cook and sew. Perris is the only thing that keeps me sane in CA. This place has some seriously fucked people outside of DZ'z. In Texas, I miss the people, grocery stores, thunderstorms, Pappadeaux, and all the cool flying in the area with all the private airports. Im probably moving back to Ft Worth in the next couple months....I do dread a few things: 1. Infrastructure - CA has got TX beat hands down. The roads and traffic suck and they do big projects right in the middle of rush hour, not in the middle of the night like in CA. 2. Fucking DPS and other cops...I drove from Sanger TX to DFW Sunday morning. No traffic at all on the 35 mile drive but there were no fewer than 8 speedtraps. Corinth/Lake Dallas had 4 on thier own. CA cops have better things to do. This is how small town in TX generate revenue. 3. Crickets, Grasshoppers, Chiggers, Mosquitoes, Fire Ants and all the bugs that get all over your car. 4. GODDAMNMOTHERFUCKINGPIECEOFSHIT Gravel Trucks. Dealing with those 4 things is better than dealing with the ignorant, tree hugging liberals in CA. One thing I find very odd. White Californians are very prejudiced against Mexicans. Odd for such a liberal place. There are way more Mexican Immigrants (legal and illegal) in TX and everyone in TX I know loves em. I find them to be hard working and friendly and they have great families. For the backwards ass rednecks we are supposed to be????? Mike

Screw it...I need more sleep but Im off to Perris. Last night at work sucked....I was sitting there and had just mentioned to an employee how bored I was when the phone rang. Some morons digging a trench for a 15ft diameter sewer pipe 100ft UNDER our tracks at the top of the Alameda corridor managed to collpase the ground under all 3 tracks....All of a sudden, lotsa trains with no place to go. Lots of coffee, phone calls, conference calls, pages and emails later........ugh! And a blue hand to cap it off. Mike
