  1. Yeah but remember the time it takes you to evaluate, think, reach and do the reserve pull. Now thinking about it, maybe some hesitation may happen like ie. the people that hesitate to pull reserve and go for the main when they are low. HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  2. If am not mistaken Racer use 2 pin cypres, I already own a one pin cypres so its a no good. HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  3. It isn't to much if you can close the container using a pull up chord. It's the right amount if you can close it and make a lil sweat while doing it. You should try closing my container, now that sure gives a sweat! HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  4. I've been a PADI Dive Master for 3 years now and been diving for 10 years now, so I can't talk to much about the new rules (kinda ethics thing). >>1) Even after all the research, they really don't have difinitive answers. thats correct, since all the bodies are different some are more sensitive to the nitrogen than others (like the anaesthesia works different for every one), if you are a healthy sports man then most prolly is that the tables will be right for you but if you are a fat non sportsman, drinker and smoker kinda man then you should be a lot more conservative on the tables and try to follow the 24 hours after diving. Remember the dive tables were first made using male healthy regularly exercised NAVY soldiers (or test soldiers) and looking how the pressure affected them the time tables were made (first diving table made was the NAVY (cause they had the test subjects) then the others took that one as base). Can't talk to much about nitrox cause I have never used it. >>2) No one will give you a diffinitive answer for the minimum dive-to-fly time. I always tell my students or the group am taking to wait 24 hours just to be sure they wait at least 20 hours, some don't like to wait the 24. HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  5. RW= variety and last longer FF= to fast Landing straight = we always get to the spot. Swooping = sometimes has to bail out and end up somewhere else. HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  6. yeah thought of that but that would of made a huge poll, so I just put it there to get the vote and then I would read the critics and know that its the vector 3 or the micron what they chose. thanks for the suggestion. HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  7. problems with flying after diving is that the nitrogen bubbles get to big and clog a vein or artery but the expansion of the particles by going up is less almost nothing in comparison from undersea to sea level, What is the ATA pressure at 14k feets? almost nothing. Trust me for those test to have been called new rules there must of been a lot of testing, trials, guinney pigs etc... If you breathe oxygen it will help the tissues and might or will prevent the N2 bubbles from clogging. Of course that almost all the tests are made using healthy test subjects but if you drink alcohol or smoke you might want to rethink these new rules cause the body acts in a different ways with this substances inside. 8. RW-ers have more experience making points, and we can make a new position everytime. We even have more positions than the kamasutra! HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com

  13. from the Para Gear catalog: I think as a safety thing they all must be independent, or else it can fail. This is just a wild guess. HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  14. mmm... I see more poll answers than posts, please put in your 2 cents.
  15. Th AAD will trigger when the speed and altitude are correct, it doesn't cares about the pin or the closing loop, its independant. I have seen a case where the person having the emergency pulled the reserve pin and by the time the canopy was leaving the container, the AAD fired. before I get flamed: the team mate saw him pull the silver before he saw a reserve out so we concluded that. 16. do infinity have the chest rings? and just by curiosity, are the chest ring that comfortable? HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  17. hey Michele, its quite simple how a AAD works. The AAD has a cillinder wich has a cutter inside. The cylinder is a lil bit longer than the size of a 9mm bullet and thin like a 22mm bullet, it has a hole where you pass the closing loop and when it triggers what it does is cut the reserve closing loop and the reserve PC spring does the rest of the work. ------------------- | O
  18. Hiya Michele! good to see you too! Last time I talked to Lisa she suggested a Infinity cause its full extra and cheap but since I have the oportunity to spend the big bucks I am wondering what is the best thing around. Am like you, I have no idea of other containers, been jumping a dolphin for about 70 jumps. HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  19. I have been blessed by god and my dad and have the oportunity to buy a new container, so now am in the quest of finding "the one" (it will have to last me for a lot of jumps and downsizes). here's the Q: Which container do you prefer and why? am looking for comfort, security, beauty and friendly for all the skydiving disciplines (you can exclude wingsuit). right now am looking at the odyssey cause a friend told me that its the most comfortable of all, cause it has chest rings, hip rings, the cut-in backpad, etc. Can your choice beat this? if yes, how? I don't have the oportunity to demo so I will trust your answers and base my buy in what I read from you people. HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  20. You said it, almost. I know of a person here in dz.com that gets online coaching. HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  21. 1. Yes, sabres open hard from time to time. 2. Could have been a problem with the packing, not a packing error but maybe not enough roll to the tail, roll it about 10 times and make sure that the rolls are tight. 3. Fly the opening, transition your body from the belly position to the sit when opening, it will reduce the force. side note: check the line trim and check that the control lines are not twist. Check out the ram air canopy manual that PD has, it shows a way to pack for softer openings. HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  22. and the students might get overload, they need time to make questions, practice and think the things the instructor said. The more time you give them before putting them in the plane gives them more time to think of emergencies and ask question about it. HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
  23. Nubain you gotta take it easy, concentrate on your breathing and don't think of what you have to do, dunno what is level 5 (i did SL) but do a stable belly to earth, don't worry about anything else. The only thing you need to conquer is the exit from the plane, once you do it all the next dives will be easier. I got my nervous ride on SL jump 3 almost declined from jumping but I concentrated on "I've done it before, its safe, I have a reserve, red, silver, its costing me 60$ I gotta do it". Why you are nervous: its the sane part of the brain telling you that you are crazy for doing sh¡t like that and that you should be at house whatching TV, smoking cigars and spend a boring "safe" life for the rest of your life. On the other hand you have your not so sane but very insane part of the brain telling you "WOOOHOOO!!!! JUMP!!!!! PARTY!!!!" now listen to that and you will live a happy life. GO FOR IT! JUMP! dont wait at the door, don't think of it, just do it! HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
