  1. I am also a type 1 diabetic. I have only done tandom jumps (2 of them yeah im a little slow at getting around to doing more). Not to scold you, but they higher numbers can cause MANY problems later in life (blindness, failure of organs, amputations. blah blah blah.. i know your dr has probably warned you. (sorry). Now back to the question. test, test, test. Im on a pump. when i jumped i would test before and after my jump. I would also suspend my pump so i dont have a chance of going low during my jump. I would test and do any correction needed once i landed. I know the waivers at the DZ i went to said something about diabetics (yeah i overlooked that one :) )
  2. No prob! Good Luck with the new ventures. I hope i can come out there and jump with you there. What kind of plane are you using there?
  3. I have done a tandem last summer at skydive TC with the new owner of westside. I would recommend him too at his new company with the expirence i had at the old.
  4. I have only done tandem, I did it twice at skydive twincites last summer. The staff was very professional. They will make you enjoy your time.
  5. +1 again even though i have only done tandem a few times. my first jump i made when my fiance was out of town. I booked it and didnt tell her until i got done and i emailed the pics to her. Look at what i did today! I also never told my family due to them "trying" to talk me out of it. I think it was the decision i made.
  6. Thanks for the advice. I will look around the Minnesota area for it.
  7. Man I love this sport wish i would have done it many years ago. I just made my 2nd tandom jum over the weekend. I am going to look into aff next spring. I will only be a sport jumper. Right now i dont see myself going every day (just every other.. :) i would say maybe a few times a weekend) anyways i was wondering what people do for life insurance? who will cover a sport like this, what do i need to look for in a policy? the old bag at home want money if i go! Thanks
  8. I just did my first Tandom jump last week. I am a type 1 diabetic. I am on insulin pump treatment. When signing the release form i asked the guy what i should do. he said to just leave it blank if i am in control of it (which i am). I simply tested my BG before the jump. right before i got into the plane i took my pump off (causing my bg to go a little high, but only by about 20 points from pre flight check and after).
