Scientists feel stifled by Bush administration

If you refer to air quality the air outside is fine, I check it daily and it is good. Not joking, either. -
Plane stalls next to paraplegic tandem pasanger

That's the video with the 2 birdbrains in the front seat. Does that left seat guy have his commercial ? Or is he getting instruction on a commercial flight ? That flight could be so illegal as to be beyond belief although I dont have enough info to really know. -
Pennsylvania: More Concealed Handgun Licensees, Less Crime
dks13827 replied to JohnRich's topic in Speakers Corner
Dont confuse us with the facts, John. Our brains would overload quite easily. I actually saw a reporter say that surprisingly, gun restriction laws did not actually reduce crime at all, apparently, but that such laws are still a 'good idea'. No use arguing or discussing anything with pea brains like that, it cant be done. -
Cops Confiscate Lady’s Arsenal; Motive Pending

There are so many people who are fine when the government screws the other guy... fine as long as they dont screw me.. eh ???? That is so dumb as to be unbelievable, and sadly, it is not uncommon. Wake up, folks !!! -
If someone walked into the MSNBC lobby and pulled out his .45 to show it to his buddy, outrageous. If he pulled out a smoke and lighted up, why, that's even more outrageous these days !!! ( Neither of which is an illegal product, either. )

Once again the media whips everyone into a frenzy...

It reminds me of coverage like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8slEPV9LyS0 That's a great one. This morning the bimbos were actually kind of sad that there wasnt a ton of death and destruction. Reminds me of Geraldo faking a dive into a fox hole because he was ' under fire !!!'. Yeah right. -
I grew up watching The Rifleman ( good guy ) then learned hunting and gun safety. Never wanted to go shoot someone. My parents made it clear that it wasn't okay to do that, not that I didnt know it already.

Been there in training, never took hardly anytime at all to recover, though. Full left rudder should have fixed that, especially after most jumpers were out of there.

That's a great video of some safe landings, Roge.. but.. er... you were short 1 guy on your RW there !!

Did not Brooke set her AAD at home and not at the DZ, according to the report ? -
I suspect that pretty much ANYONE's wish list would be attacked vigorously by dz.com'ers.

I learned driving at 12, my Grandad's pickup with column shift. Bought a stick shift Camaro as soon as I could. Got a Nissan Maxima 5 speed when I had to teach my daughters to drive. They like stick shifts and one bought a Vue with a stick. My cousin's daughter learned in a Prius and he says she cant drive worth a damn, thinks she's in a state fair bumper car, go and stop,, thats all she can do. ( kind of scary, too ) I have a theory that if one goes to flight school and especially heli school, the manual shift experience is extremely valuable.

Wow !!! That is unbelievably happy !!!

Unions care about union leaders, etc. Nothing more, bottom line. Politicians, the great majority of them, care about re-election to the exclusion of all other considerations when it comes to their votes in congress. They admit that fairly often, too.

What conclusions might you arrive at given the data in the graph ?

I have my pencil out so I can write this down: 'When is statute of limitations up on blaming GWB?' I just want to record it so that I know. -
Too few people understand economics. It is like physics in so many ways, meaning, the laws of nature can't be changed no matter how hard folks try to do it. Things sell for what they are worth, hence some things are worthless. A canopy manufacturer can sell his product for what the market will bear, no matter what his cost to build was ( $200 or $800). If the costs become too high... out of business !!! Build some brand new parawings and you will see there are not many buyers of those. PhD's in Flagstaff, AZ make low wages ( unless they work at NAU ) but they make the choice to live there. Their choice.

I worked for Armour Foods for years ( I.T. guy... not in the slaughter houses !! ) When our plants in Iowa, MN, KS etc kept demanding pay raises that couldnt be met ( and they already made good money ), the company said, we would have to close the plant if you union guys wont cut us some slack. The unions said.. close the plant then.... so they did !!!! This happened over and over again. So no one in town had a decent job after that. Those unions sure do care about folks, dont they !!!!!

Joe Kittinger's record jump.... 51 years ago today.
dks13827 replied to dks13827's topic in Skydiving History & Trivia
On August 16, 1960, he made the final jump from the Excelsior III at 102,800 feet (31,300 m).[2] Towing a small drogue parachute for initial stabilization, he fell for four minutes and 36 seconds, reaching a maximum speed of 614 miles per hour (988 km/h)[3][4] before opening his parachute at 18,000 feet (5,500 m). Pressurization for his right glove malfunctioned during the ascent, and his right hand swelled up to twice its normal size.[5][6] He set historical numbers for highest balloon ascent, highest parachute jump, longest drogue-fall (four minutes), and fastest speed by a human being through the atmosphere.[7] -
I've kinda decided that......

"FWIW, I *really* regret not having waited long enough to have my hardware removed. " Douglas please clarify.... you regret not waiting long enough to have your hardware removed ? Is that correct ?
