    I would never reline a Sabre I with Vectran simply because it would open harder. While Vectran does have more drag coefficient to slow down the decent of the slider (which in turn slows the opening), Spectra has more elasticity than Vectran which counts at the bottom end of the opening. This makes it a little more forgiving if you had a hard opening. I would reline it with my Black 600lb Technora. It would make the openings softer and more reliable and you should get 400-600 jumps out of it even in the desert environment if you take decent care of them. MEL How about relining with Dacron? Keeps trim, slows the slider down due to friction, and stretaches during hard openings. .

    I jumped on Storm and Spectre. For your needs, Spectre would be much better. Opens softer. PD says that in their flight characteristics. I have 900 jumps on Spectre 190 with Dacron lines, and slider from Spectre 230. Plus brass slider grommets (some people say they help, too). 27-inch collapsible F-111 PC for smaller canopies would be the best. .

    Reserve is PD Optimum, which is known for slower (bit snivelly) openings and being more prone to line twists. Tons of videos on YouTube.

    When the canopy might have come out or inflated. You don't know when the loop was cut. Plus, when he rotated to a vertical position, the burble disapeared, and the pressure increased A LOT on his back. So, the AAD 'saw' even more rapid descent. .
