Coolest skydiving experience yet
Dano302 replied to tmarine253's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
That's pretty cool. I've seen Eric Roner, Special Greg and Rooftop at Elsinore on a couple occasions now, super humble guys. -
+1

Wow that's a major bummer.

There's not one single thing for experienced jumpers on that website, kinda thrown off by that...

I remember getting more nervous with the increased complexity of each new jump level. Specifically being in a new "unfamiliar" unstable position. The AFF program is setup to learn a lot fast so I think it's normal to feel like that. It also took me awhile to "trust" the gear. Once those thing's are out of your head there will be some normal nervousness here and there but overall it will become more fun that you can imagine.

I've washed mine at least 3 to 4 times this summer. In 100-110 heat I find sweat stain's on the outside of the suit, and can smell the suit in the back seat of my truck. Cold water and hang drying doesn't seem to have done anything to it yet....

Perris vs Elsinore... any suggestions?
Dano302 replied to jrmolayvar's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Having jumped at both Dz's, I'd probably do my AFF at Elsinore. Perris is an awesome DZ but can be very busy, which typically means more canopy traffic. -
7th Annual M.O.A.B. (Mother Of All Boogies)

a link for the non-facebookers? -
Elsinore does not have any LO's on friday's, and can be fairly slow on friday's too. I primarily jump at Elsinore, but the few time's I've been to Perris I've been impressed with how many plane's go up on a average weekday, and there seems to always be someone L.O.ing during the week.

wow, those clips were awesome!

Jim is the man!!!!!

That's strange because I don't think the end cells on my pilot 150 have ever been closed on opening. I was getting line twists fairly often until I stopped pushing the nose in. The sabre 2 170 I was flying before the pilot would have closed end cells on 90% of openings, but immediatly open after a quick flare.

They don't fly it anymore, not for several years now.

-
mine took about 1 1/2 weeks, i got it last saturday...

That's fairly typical, I worked for a local dealership as a mechanic for several years. Car maintenance get's pricey, more reason to learn to work on your own stuff.
-
personally I wouldn't wear one unless it came off a rig I jumped.

being a novice jumper, i miscalulated the winds on my pattern last week and landed just prior to the "beer line" (aka student landing area/experienced landing area border). luckily my coach understood and waived the beer fee, but on my log book he clearly wrote "honor the beer line" heh

New Kid looking for warning
Dano302 replied to JumpsOffCliffs's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
why the need to know what to expect? half the fun of the first jump is having no idea what your about to experience. -
i've got 3 more jumps till i get my A license, but when i do i plan on getting the uspa wings. i've got full sleeves and just one open place saved for it......

Why would anybody jump from a perfectly good airplane
Dano302 replied to BHogg's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
my response is always- "there's no such thing as a perfectly good airplane, every airplane is an accident looking for a place to happen." rarely does someone comment about it after that i think thats in one of the skydive handbook/manuals -
Have you ever spat under canopy?
Dano302 replied to KermieCorleone's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
yep. i've been chewing gum on the way down lately and like to spit it out and give it a nice boot under canopy
