  1. Is it just me, or is old February news a little stale?
  2. "Punishers" Joker jumpsuit at The Ranch is one of the best
  3. I was wondering if we could get some other opinions on gear stores and independent dealers at other dz's out there. We have had an incident at The Ranch where a long time dealer lost club membership and was tossed from the property because of violating a exclusive agreement with the gear store on property. This rigger/dealer had a long history of providing service and equipment to people and has since opened his own store locally. This is my first experience with an operation having an "exclusive" on selling equipment at a location. I have travelled to many areas that had a variety of sources for equipment, advice and such and was wondering if this is a similar policy now and how it is perceived by others in the skydiving community. I have always enjoyed getting a couple of opinions and having the option of choosing riggers, sales people and selection that comes from open competition. I feel that both parties in this case are looking out for the best interests of the jumpers and their business, but wanted to know how it's handled in other places and what the attitude about this is. Thanks, the bikedude
  4. OK, I'll throw one in that is not totally skydiving related: www.bikeny.com I have a bicycle shop/cafe here in Gardiner with links to The Ranch and other local points of interest, and updates on weather and local activities. Any visiting skydivers can get 2 for 1 bike rentals if you find yourself with time on your hands up here. Peace, the bikedude
  5. I live here in Gardiner with the Ranch, and in over 20 years of skydiving, would have to say it is one of the most special drop zones around. Good staff, beautiful countryside, great airplanes and only an hour to an hour and a half from NYC, depending on your velocity. Our weather can keep you on your toes, but it's a great experience. Thanks!! PLF
