by the way i still have no official answer from aerodyne.
-
thanks for your input! yes i am fully aware that the behavior of the canopy will change. i've done a couple of canopy courses (two with flight-1) and i am really into canopy piloting with the desire to slowly start swooping.

thanks for your reply! i've seen the UPT ones and i have to say that i like them. my concern is not that i need to put all my fingers in the loop but the fact that the loops i have now are very small and the material is soft. this is causing problems when i need to put my fingers to initiate a front riser turn.

Hello people, i currently own an Icon container and i am looking into changing the risers with longer ones. I browsed through Aerodynes website and did find longer risers available for the miniforce three ring system. The thing is that i would like to have bigger dive loops than the ones that came with the container when i purchased it. At the moment i can only fit 3 fingers inside and i suppose the longer ones that are sold from Aerodyne would have the same dive loops. does anyone know if i could fit other risers on the container? I have seen some risers on Vectors with really big dive loops. i have already sent an email to Aerodyne and while waiting for their answer i just wanted to get more opinions. blue skies

Aerodyne Icon with Skyhook: Service Bulletin
ellinas replied to gzimmermann's topic in Gear and Rigging
yes, looks like there has been a misunderstanding on this issue. I am really sorry for the negative publicity as it seems that there has been a misunderstanding on our behalf. Both Aerodyne's and Parachute Case's service were outstanding. Looks like our contact person has indeed asked for the reserves to come unpacked. -
Aerodyne Icon with Skyhook: Service Bulletin
ellinas replied to gzimmermann's topic in Gear and Rigging
Thanks for your replies people! The reason i asked this, is because we got our rigs back from the Parachute Case where we had send them to be modified according to the Service Bulletin. Both rigs were sent with the main removed and when we received them we found out to our great surprise that both had the reserves opened. I wouldn't really care about this but one of the rigs is less than a month old and mine had the reserve packed in November 2010. Anyway, i'm not going to start bitching about the reserve packing fees but it annoys me because i also own a retail company and when there is a warranty issue i make sure that the customer is never charged a single dime. The important thing is that we got our rigs back and we can finally get to use them! -

Aerodyne Icon with Skyhook: Service Bulletin
ellinas replied to gzimmermann's topic in Gear and Rigging
Today we shipped two rigs from Greece to the Netherlands to have them checked and modified according to the service bulletin. We were advised to send them to the Parachute Case. I hope this will not take to long. -
are there any other owners of Icon containers with this problem?
-
I happen to be the owner of a skyhook equipped Icon container. I received the service bulletin info via email last night and i am pretty confused as i happen to live in Greece. I contacted Aerodyne and explained the situation to them. They told me they are looking for a way to sort out the problem for international customers by leading them to certified riggers near their area. Lets wait and see how things will proceed...

Does the fear ever go away?
ellinas replied to Hunt_Joshua_G's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
almost 60 jumps later, i still feel weird when in the plane under 1000ft. The fear it self will never go away IMO. Its what keeps you alerted and therefore alive. -

Skydiving vacation in California
ellinas replied to ellinas's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Hi people! please excuse possible mistakes as English is not my native language. i will be visiting California in July for 3 weeks. Purpose of my visit is skydiving of course! I have booked my flights, rented a car and decided on the dropzone i will be doing my jumps. After reading this forum and talking with more experienced jumpers, i decided to visit Elsinore in order to get my A license and proceed towards B license (i don't know if this will be feasible) as i will be staying there for some time and all i want to do is jump all day! I did my AFF course in Texel, Netherlands where i liked the whole atmosphere a lot. I was planning to go again to Texel but they informed me that i could not do my A license there because the could not provide the exam in English. Next possibility was Empuria Brava in Spain because a friend was supposed to make the trip with me, but when he backed out i decided to take a step further and visit the US. So USA here i come! I will be travelling alone, landing in LAX, getting a rental car and going to the dropzone. Any heads up regarding places to visit (when not jumping!), eat, have drink etc? Thanks for reading ! Max -
Hello everybody, i;ve been reading for some time this forum but today i decided to introduce myself. My name is Max, and i am located in Athens, Greece. I started jumping in August 2009 in Texel, Netherlands. Since then i have not logged as many jumps as i would like mostly because of the conditions in Greek dropzones. This summer i will be visiting the U.S solely for Skydiving for 3 weeks. Hopefully this will be enough to get my fix untill my next travel!
