  1. What's a few thousand lives here and there? After all, they're doing their job of keeping America and the world safe, and everyone is proud to have a hero in their family. Next thing you know the Costa Rican army will become a threat!
  2. Everything encourages or leads to black market or trafficking or smuggling. Any attempt by the government to set control measures or policies, no matter how fool-proof they seem, will eventually be overtaken. I don't know if the above made any sense, but it's just like with money: no matter how hard the government tries to come up with clever "unforgeable" bills, there will be someone out there willing and able to forge it. No matter what the tax strategy is, someone will find a way to find a loop hole. No matter how high or strong the wall between our Countries, immigrants will find a way across because there is always someone, at least one, corrupt enough to allow it. Enrique
  3. ... so far... just wait a few more years!
  4. Yes. We just need to give them a real reason to stop (fines) and take away the reason they're doing it (cheap labor). The cheap labor will ALWAYS be there. It is standard commercial practice: If you charge $5.00, I will charge $4.99 to get the job. It is not only cheap labor, it is cheap qualified labor. As long as there are people willing to hire cheap labor (regardless of immigration status), there will be hordes of immigrants (illegal and otherwise) coming to your Country... you have a better economy! It's like drug smuggling: as long as there are consumers, drug traffickers will find a way to sell their stuff. Or what do you suggest, eradicating poverty (not going to happen) and illegal substances (slim chance) in the world?
  5. Exactly. The way I see the problem is very simple: supply and demand. Perhaps if companies and individuals stopped hiring illegal immigrants they would stop crossing illegaly.
  6. 1.- PEMEX (Mexican Petroleum Company) 2.- CFE (Federal Power Commission) 3.- America Telecom 4.- Carso Global 5.- CEMEX (Mexican Cement Company) There. And here's the link http://money.cnn.com/magazines/fortune/global500/2006/countries/M.html Fortune Global 500 is a different group than the Fortune 500. True, but he did begin the paragraph with "Basically, english is the language of money." not differentiating between the U.S. and the rest of the globe.
  7. And from Venezuela: 1. PDVSA
  8. And more: Spain 1 Repsol 2 Santander Central Hispano Group 3 Telefónica 4 Endesa 5 Cepsa 6 Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria 7 Altadis 8 ACS 9 Iberdrola

  10. http://www.carrotmuseum.co.uk/recipeslist.html Too freakin' funny
  11. It is not walls and fences that you have to make stronger, but your immigration policies. Apply them across the board and you will see a difference: no illegal immigrants should mean no illegal immigrants, whether you need them to work the fields or the kitchens of your Country... ALL of them, out! Americans, Europeans and Asian alike.
  12. Well, you will have to settle for a president that "accidentally" kills eastern european civilians in mass bombings of their countries. And, don't forget... Mexico is part of America! ... really, check a map. Oh, and there ARE borders, very long, tall and solid ones by the way; they run all the way into the Pacific Ocean.
  13. The soldiers are not to blame, but the commanding officers and people coming up with the "strategies to fight" terrorism. Billions of dollars and increasing stress and fear is the cost of the alleged fight against terrorists..... they are becoming stronger!
  14. Now that's not the result of a very good job... terrorism up 29% compared to 2005. Something is not right about the military efforts.
  15. ... I thought it was meant to defend the Country...
  16. The way I see it, no matter how strict the background checks are, they will not show if someone has been harassed in school lately or if they are going to be fired from their jobs. Crazy people will still be able to buy a gun. In addition, there seems to be no tolerance for anyone or anything. The police are trigger happy, the President of the U.S. is bomb and Country-invasion happy... it is the way of the gun. You move in a way that I think is threatening, I'll shoot you. If I dislike you, I'll shoot you. If I don't like your type of government or your foreing policy, I'll invade and level you with bombs. That seems to be the norm, the set example, hence we cannot ask people to act differently... it is what they see their leaders do. Just a thought.
  17. Maybe the heads of the State need to stop solving all their problems with bullets...
  18. Try "Lapiz". One of the best out there within the affordable range.
  19. ... wasn't the American military who trained Osama Bin Laden??? ....
  20. I think it's a matter of principle, not a matter of what the guy did during his life. Government leaders are also killing thousands of their countrymen by sending them to war, but that doesn't give anyone the right to sell an action figure making fun... So you are opposed as a matter of principle to people who produce images and products which make fun of President Bush? I don't think it is a bad thing to make fun of people who are stupid, like GWB... he brings it on to himself. When he dies (and eventually he will), I would also disagree with anyone making fun of his passing. I don't agree with making fun about the way someone dies, regardless of who they are or what they did... it seems a little bit sick. Imagine a doll representing JFK's shooting. Not nice...
  21. I can hardly begin to imagine what a soldier going on his/her 2nd or 3rd tour of duty would feel like... Again, it is understandable that a soldier must follow orders, but I guess it would be way more encouraging if such orders were practical, logical, and objective. Hope all goes well for the people putting their life on the line.
  22. What if an Iraqi manufacturer came up with an action figure of a US soldier being blown up by a car bomb? Would that still be funny yet tasteless, or would it be something else?
  23. I think it's a matter of principle, not a matter of what the guy did during his life. Government leaders are also killing thousands of their countrymen by sending them to war, but that doesn't give anyone the right to sell an action figure making fun of the way he/she dies... at least not in my opinion.
  24. Yep, that's the one. (I fixed the link too)
