A little off topic but~ anyone have an idea on what kinds of numbers the commercial tandems mills average in a month or year? It would be interesting to guesstimate bottom-line $ difference that would be reflected annually between the two video systems on that scale. In the spring, summer and fall seasons it's not uncommon for Mile-Hi to have 100+ tandems per day on the weekends... like a lot of other dzs I'm sure. And likely some do twice that number. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----

Verizon = Incredible or The Droid 2. or Droid X I have the Droid 2 and love it, but I rarely use the keyboard. I'd probably get the Incredible if I was getting a phone today. The Droid X is pretty sweet, just a bit too big a screen/phone than I need. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----

I have one... The count down timer is a call timer, or count down until your next "now call". I never use it. It goes into stand-by mode, but it's always ready. You NEVER have to 'turn it on'. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----

**PLEASE HELP** - medical use of private plane for a friend
ridestrong replied to alanab's topic in The Bonfire
Oh.. just reread that. A private jet and maybe someone willing to just ride along (like a friend of family doc etc.) may be the only option that won't cost tens of thousands of $$. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.---- -
**PLEASE HELP** - medical use of private plane for a friend
ridestrong replied to alanab's topic in The Bonfire
Agreed, they would likely have to be hired through a medical transport company ie ambulance company, along with the equipment needed. If a stretcher was required at any time, it would then have to be a fully equipped medical transport plane. *I am not afraid of dying... **PLEASE HELP** - medical use of private plane for a friend
ridestrong replied to alanab's topic in The Bonfire
Hi Alana.... I used to be an EMT with Rural Metro Ambulance and know that Flight For Life has a jet for medical transport. We used to pick up patients and drop off out of Centenial Airport without security. If you can find someone willing to donate a plane and flight time another option might be to hire some practitioners and equipment for transport. Sorry I sent this reply without tracking down any numbers, but can probably head you in the right direction or connect you with the right people to get there if you need the help. I'm sure if done properly insurance would help cover some of the costs but maybe not? Good luck. Josh *I am not afraid of dying... Hahahaha... One of my friends in NY already had it posted on his FB page yesterday. I'm sure we'll be seeing more people post it before it goes away. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.---- -

ridestrong replied to ridestrong's topic in Speakers Corner
TSA? That was implicated in my joke... DIA (Denver International Airport) you were a TSA muppet? Yeah, I was a body scanner and got fired for false accusations.. No, I'm fully employed and never worked at the airport. I do however look at peoples 'scans' every day just not full body ones. *I am not afraid of dying... TSA BODY SCANNER MASTURBATION STORY IS FAKE!
ridestrong replied to ridestrong's topic in Speakers Corner
BODY SCANNER MASTURBATION STORY IS FAKE! Needed to post this before everyone starts ranting about it like it's true. Problem is too many people are now just looking to make this worse than it really is. There are likely 10 times as many false reports now because of all this type of bullshit. These agents, like it or not are just doing what their told. Until the TSA changes their policy, making smart ass comments and giving these agents a hard time will just make things worse. I agree these measures are stupid... stupid that their doing it to unnecessary people. Here's the fake story: http://www.dailysquib.co.uk/?c=124&a=2389 *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.---- -
THIS IS A BULL SHIT STORY AND NEVER HAPPENED! This is part of the problem... I've already seen this on Facebook and the fake story is spreading like wild fire. Pretty soon MSN will be reporting it a true story. Too many people/passengers and media included are making this out to be much worse than it really is. *I am not afraid of dying... You might be able to make it inconspicuous, but the bullet is still going to set off the metal detector. The whole idea is that they would stay in the brief case and pass through x'ray... not the metal detector. They can be made to still look exactly like a real pen (with a round inside) on x-ray. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----

Wow - just wow - So would you like to see sentences based upon Possible Future Acts too? -- Ptsss... of course not. Besides we all know he will be turned into a great law abiding citizen and probably LOVE America if/when he is released from one of our stellar rehab systems. Or maybe we'll get lucky and he'll receive some good old 'prison justice'. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----

Haven't we been through this before? The damn things don't exist. . What makes you think that? While there may be some bizarre prototype out there that nobody's ever heard of, there's nothing on the market today that would even remotely qualify as a "plastic gun" that can pass through a metal detector. . and there will never likely be anything like that "on the market". Metal gun pens on the other hand can be easily made and inconspicuous through a security check point... don't really need to be "on the market". Not sure that would ever pose a real threat, just sayin. But I bet it wouldn't be too difficult to get ~3 gun pens past screening. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----

Hahaha, guess I'm not too surprised to hear that. Definitely one of the more rickety planes I've flown in. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----

Turned out to be a great day... No fun jumpers, but still got some FF'ing in with the DZO and video flyers. Great group of guys up there and the Beech was a pretty cool plane to jump out of. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----

Sitting at DIA as I write this. Just passed through security with my rig. I have taken it as a carry-on the past 3 times I've traveled without incident until today. As the TSA agent looked at my rig through the x-ray screener I can hear him asking for a supervisor. They then ask me if they can ' test' my rig, I say, "sure". So another agent swabs my rig and gets a positive "warning". He then calls over a supervisor who tells me we will have to go to the "private screening room" and I will have to completely take the rig apart in front of a specialist. After which I would have to return my pieced apart rig to my car. After 20 min of waiting the explosives specialist shows up, takes out his Cypress x-ray card and takes my rig back to the scanner for comparison. It turns out to be quite the show as at least 10 different agents watch the specialists analysis. Thankfully, they came back with my rig, pins in place and hand it back to me. I thanked them for a great job, one of them said, "can you tell 9 News that". And here I sit. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
