  1. GoHuskers, Many of my friends used to jump there during the time it was open (Dec 09 - June 11 I think). They have a Porter and prices were 900 Baht ish for fun jumpers. Feel free to go if you really want to visit, but don't be disappointed that no one is there jumping. Hopefully they'll be opened within the next few months, only time will tell. As I said above, if you really want to jump to say that you jumped in Thailand then go to http://www.thaiskydiving.com/ open 7 days a week, but just call to make sure people are jumping. Only 1:30 drive from Udon Thani airport and you can arrange to have a driver pick you up (via the DZ) and drop you back at the airport for 1,500B round trip. edit to add: Saw that your home DZ is san marcos, there is an instructor at Bird's Paradise Extreme Resort aka the open DZ that used to jump at san Marcos back in the day and has around 10k ish jumps. Name is Doug For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp

  4. Simple answer, yes. I do 90's and fly my sabre2 at 1.2 and have the softest tippy toe landings while landing into the wind. Downwind I sometimes run it out but usually slide it out on my feet. Make sure it's flat though without divots and have "strong" ankles/feet 2 stage flare and always complete your flare Be safe, have fun and get your jump on! 5. 1) Hit the gym! 2) You'll most likely end up getting sport rig. Student rig allows more room for adjustment as apposed to a custom fit sport rig. There are also some details such as the clear windows to check your reserve pin without opening up the reserve flap. 3) don't worry about the weight of the rig at the moment, Since you're just beginning to jump you're jumping a rather large canopy most likely at 0.8 ish WL. The weight of the larger canopy is what you feel, as you progress IF you choose to downsize later on, the rig will become slightly lighter and potentially more comfortable for you. But mind you your rig will always weigh somewhere around 20ish lbs. 6. haha sadly not, they've been closed since June 2011. On their facebook page they've been saying that they'll open next month since last June soooo yea....... Anyhow, if you REALLY want to jump go to Bird's Paradise Extreme resort 1hr outside of Udon Thani airport. Good vibes and people, but now they've only got a cessna 172.......yea 40min ride to 10k for $49 USD http://www.thaiskydiving.com/ For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp
  7. Is Samsung's the current fastest SSD or is it still the OCZ's Vertex 3? I also heard that Intel just came out with their new 520 SSD, but the price is just too expensive at the moment with similar speeds to that of OCZ's I'm assuming you're using SATA 3.0 6Gbps interface to take advantage of the ridiculous speeds? Also try using "Blackmagic Disk Speed Test" works as a great speed benchmark test for your SDD! 10. Was supposed to be released September 30, 2011 ended up never showing or ever having been released. They never gave another approximation showing date either which I find awkward. Anyone know the reason behind it not being released? For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp
  11. Could you please enlighten us non BPA members as to what exactly is an FS-1 sticker and how do you go about achieving the requirements and attaining it? All I know is that within the States all you need to do in order to jump with whomever you choose to jump with is simply to attain your A license which usually takes 25jumps. 12. Just siting and watching the sky because of the weather? If you're in the UK just hop on over and jump in Spain/Empuriabrava where the weather is a bit better Or France, Germany, Belgium etc etc considering that you said you'd just get a USPA license so sounds like you've got enough cash to travel around. Simple and done now go jump and get tunnel time so you won't just have to "fall" For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp

  18. If you really really want it from what I know it's currently available in Europe. The only thing that is keeping it coming to the U.S from what I understand is the approval from the rig manufacturers. I've heard that this approval is going to be quite difficult after the argus incident and all. If you're in the market for a new AAD I'd suggest buying a Vigil or Cyrpes as there's no telling when it'd be released/approved here For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp
  19. For BASE jumping get an APEX rig or Adrenaline base rig. Buy a Tracking suit either from Phoenix fly or Tube3 from pressurized. You would want to do plenty of skydives with this tracking suit first then BASE jump with that THEN wingsuit For skydiving it would be beneficial if you got a huge canopy perhaps loaded at 0.8 to practice for future BASE jumping. Have fun! P.S if you really want to only BASE then MAYBE look at BASER rigs For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp
