  1. Performance Designs Velocity 103.......just got it late last year and loving every single time I fly it! Jason Jerusalem life@jasonjerusalem.com
  2. If everybody here thinks Orlando is bad, I'm assuming that you all haven't driven in Miami. The scary part in Miami isn't the aggressive driving. It's the aggressive driving and lack of auto insurance combined! Jason Jerusalem life@jasonjerusalem.com
  3. Doh! I guess that's why we call them 'rumors'. Oh well, it was something to wish for. Jason Jerusalem life@jasonjerusalem.com
  4. Well, I've chatted with some people about Mike's deal for that weekend and it looks as though he's planning to bring one or two extra planes for that specific weekend! Not sure if it's absolute, but if I know Mike, he'll come through with at least one extra aircraft. I also heard there's a possiblity of Mike looking to get a freefly organizer. Not sure if that's true either. Even without an organizer, I think everybody will have a great time! It's actually a cool idea not to have all the big hype of trying to host a major boogie. It's like bringing the boogie style back to it's roots.....simple and fun!! Jason Jerusalem life@jasonjerusalem.com
  5. I used to own a Toyota MR2 Spyder when they first came back out. I ended up selling it to get something bigger, but I still miss it. I had a perimeter sensor alarm on mine, so even with the top down it could sense if you were in a certain 'bubble area'. Mainly because of the stereo I had installed in it, I was cautious with theft. Luckily nobody had ever cut it open to steal anything when I had it. Sure is tough carrying all my gear in there, much less anybody else. Little to no room, but still a fun convertible to drive (especially during those summer days)!!
  6. I have had a number of different lenses in the past. I used to have a 0.5, but realized that I wanted something a bit wider. I then bought my 0.42 lens and I've been using that one lens for the past 5 or so years. Has great versatility as an all around lens. You can zoom pretty far in (given the fact it's a wide angle lens) and it's picture is stable on playback with it's pulled all the way to it's 0.42 configuration. I ended up buying a 0.3 lens as well just for purposes of a belly mounted camera. I like it, except for the fact that as soon as I zoom in even just a bit, it will not focus anymore. I don't know if it's because of my PC-101, but it's not as versatile as I thought it might be. Either way, I love my 0.42 lens and I'll probably end up getting another one if something happens to the one I have. Jason Jerusalem life@jasonjerusalem.com
  7. From my experience, Sony is the best way to go if you're a skydiver looking for video equipment. I've had several Sony PC style camcorders over 5 or so years and I've been using a PC-101 for a few years now. Knock on wood, all of my camcorders have never had a problem with them thus far. My PC-101 still to this day has never had a problem with it either. The 101 is my favorite of all of them to be honest with you. I don't like the new PC's with the fragile zoom button and cheaper feel (at least in my opinion). If I were shopping around again for another Sony PC camcorder, I'd search around for a PC-101 again. Wonderful camera!! Do take into consideration what was mentioned previously already. I'd concentrate on getting more jumps and experience before you start making purchases toward video gear. The more gear you fly with, the more complex the situation becomes. Of course this is my own opinion and everybody has a right to do what they want. It's just a safety thing to me.
  8. There are a few good points that people are making here on this thread. There are so many areas of techno (of course some may call it EDM, Electronica, etc.) in which it branches out into. Many people who don't listen to it are quick to stereotype it and give their own narrow minded opinion about the genre. Whether you enjoy a style of music or not, there is some level of appreciation in what goes into developing the sound and vocals (if it applies). Take country music for example. I don't necessarily listen to country music, nor do I particularly enjoy it. It would be easy for me to categorize that genre of people as rednecks waving the confederate flag, drinking Budwiser and husbands cheating on their wives with their cousin. On the other hand, stereotypying individuals who listen to certain styles of music and associating them with this stigma is pure ignorance. I very much appreciate alot of different types of music (including country) and respect that every artist or dj has their own way of expressing their emotions and attitudes with music. Regarding Techno/Electronica, some people take it to a whole other level. Though many people associate it with using Ecstacy and many other drugs, this isn't necessarily always true. I do have to say that I was deep into 'the scene' for many years, but I also know now that you don't have to be on drugs and put this raver attitude to listen and enjoy Techno/Electronica. So whether you like or dislike anybody's form of expression, keep one thing in mind.... ..."don't hate, APPRECIATE" p.s. - for those who put the pacifiers in their mouth and feel the need to make others annoyed (possibly giving some people seizures) by waving glow sticks in the air....you can seriously stop....THAT is not a form of expression....you just look like a crack-head idiot.
  9. Well, of course I love this thread because it's the spot I jump at these dayz. We had some beautiful weather this past weekend and had a great time playing "Dirty Santa". Having to work every other weekend is quite a bummer alot of times. If it's raining or crappy that weekend I'm off, then I don't jump for about a total of one month. Oh well, don't mind me. I'm just venting. I DO appreciate the nice weather that I catch though...which this past weekend was an example. A bit chilly, but still alot of fun with my friends out there! Check out the pics!! Hope you all enjoy them!!
  10. Totally loving the Under Armour this year! I've been wearing the Loose Gear t-shirts this past summer (which seriously helps with the heat) and the Cold Gear for the current cold season (which has been keeping me pretty warm). I know there are other options out there for cold weather warmth. For me though, I like my UA gear. Definitely worth it for me!
  11. Matt, what's up kid? Coming to visit home anytime soon? Mel and i are still in Baton Rouge doing our thang. Anyway, good to see ya floating around dz.com. Any word on the schedule next year for the record?
  12. Wow, a boogie on Marco Island! Man, that place is absolutely beautiful!! I used to go out there for a long weekend back in the day when I wanted to get away from the craziness of Miami. It's so chill and low key there. Hope I can make it. Here are a couple of photos from a few years back during sunset at Marco Island Beach. Jason Jerusalem life@jasonjerusalem.com
  13. Oh yeah....here's one for ya Timmy! Jason Jerusalem life@jasonjerusalem.com
  14. Here's some more ol'skool shots....damn we're retarded!
  15. Well from what I understand from the rumors, Mike keeps getting weathered out bad and he's losing mad money. You know how rumors are around dropzones. Everybody out there tells me that he says this every year, but he ends up hosting it again and again. It seems he might be serious about not having it this coming year though. I hope not, because I love seeing everyone there during Mardi Gras season! I guess we'll see... JJ ps - thanks for the compliments (much appreciated)!
  16. Here's some photos of us goof'n off around Gold Coast...
  17. Great flyer, great peoples...that Luis!! Mad props to ya brotha man. Hope to see you out at Perris for the Record again! Always good to catch up with the "OLD SCHOOL"!
  18. Hey Treeman, what's up? Gold Coast has been my home DZ for a couple years now. Need some info?
  19. Yeah, from what I understand the Mardi Gras Boogie @ Gold Coast Skydivers is no more. It seems to be a rumor most all the time, but I keep asking people around the dropzone and they all give me the same answer. Pretty much there are no plans and interest this coming year for Mike to continue the boogie. On the other hand, things can change in a moment and he may go ahead and do it again. So far from the crew at Gold Coast, it's not gonna happen. I guess we'll see... Jason Jerusalem life@jasonjerusalem.com
  20. If you are open to a new idea and a new style of cruising around on your home computer, I HIGHLY (and I really emphasize HIGHLY) recommend the new... ...Apple iMac G5! (DVD & CD burner, plenty of RAM and processing speed, 17" screen....and the entire computer is all in one unit: just the flat screen!!!!) Most people say 'Macs are way too much money', but the brand new iMac can easily run you the price you want. You're looking for something under $1500, right? Most Dell computers (though I like Dells the most out of all the PCs) are going to cost you alot, especially if you get all the bells and whistles. From your thread, your needs are exactly what mine have been for the past few years. I edit videos and my photos online constantly, cruise online frequently, & play and download music all the time. I currently have a Apple Powerbook G4 (laptop) & an iMac G4. I used to work as a Microsoft technician and I can tell you one thing...the Apple computers are EXTREMELY stable by far. I've had both of my Apple computers for a combination of maybe 6 or 7 years and I can literally count how many times they've locked up on me on one hand! I've had several of my friends make the move to an Apple and they all say the same thing: "Man I love my Mac. I can't believe I didn't do this sooner!" Have fun shopping around!! Jason Jerusalem life@jasonjerusalem.com
  21. Here are some photos of my girlfriend (Mel) and I just playing around at our home DZ, Gold Coast Skydivers (Moss Point, MS).
  22. One more day of work for me until Mel & I are off to ATL! Can't wait to just see everybody and chill.... Jason Jerusalem life@jasonjerusalem.com
  23. Are we there yet? Is it Thursday?! Seriously, I don't even want to go to work this week...hahahahaha!! Jason Jerusalem life@jasonjerusalem.com
  24. What's up Ian?! Sure, I'm down for doing a few bigway jumps sometime Saturday. So many people are going to be there to jump with. I'd also love to do some smaller stuff with everyone too. Anybody up for doing some tracking & atmonauti? I know I'm still learning to fly my new Velo and everything, but I'd be stoked to do some canopy flocking too!! So how 'bout it?!?!?
