Aside from all the aerodynamic discussions, this is F****** hilarious. The number of people who go nuts; its a paper aeroplane being thrown in a hangar, I love flight too but, its a paper aeroplane, high fives and body slams all round LOL ;) Dont just talk about it, Do it!

Or you can just go to the website and get all the info and whilst the link says 2 its the 3. http://www.phoenix-fly.com/products/wingsuits/phoenix_fly_phantom_2 Dont just talk about it, Do it!

Read the forums there is enough information out there without asking the same dumb questions over and over again. Sorry if this sounds harsh but the answer is bloody obvious. You fly more high loaded elliptical canopies and you fly with increased risk period and with potential for more unpredictable openings. Dont just talk about it, Do it!

Jeb Corliss POV cam finally online :-)
verticalflyer replied to piisfish's topic in Wing Suit Flying
Funny Spoof, though the real footage would be quite interesting. Dont just talk about it, Do it! -
I don't think he was comparing them. If you can't see that... I was not comparing them I was merely stating the exits with the individual hitting the tail was blatantaly unsafe. As for commenting about grey cells I was having a dig at anyone; just stating lets collectively get exits right where we see they are clearly dangerous; if your first reaction is to have a dig about my intelligence thats fine just not particularly helpful. Having just watched the exit video of the strike, I have to say come on guys if you think thats a safe exit you need to stop flying wingsuits. Lets get a bit of basic safety back into the jump. None of us want to damage the aircraft or risk the lives of our fellow jumpers or ourselves so lets just have a chat when we see lousy exits and get out sh*t together. We all love this sport and want it to grow so lets get the basics right. Exits are not difficult, we used to jump a no flaps king air 90 with a GS1 and Pax750XL there is no excuse pilot or otherwise. We are responsible for ourselves and each other so lets just put this to bed and make some nice clean closed safe exits. Dont just talk about it, Do it!

Please keep this going this is the best entertainment I have had on here in years. As an aerodynamicist, safety engineer and reasonably experienced wingsuit pilot this is a very very entertaining thread. My take as of today is that with current material and human average shape mass and ability to access natural geoogrpahy with the right meterological conditions; even the most efficient wing means that you'll still sink. Yes materials and design in the future will no doubt improve performance on all aspects that have been debated here, thats just evolution. However the physical limits to be overcome are a long long way off, but hey I always encourage dreamers. However you may be waiting awhile longer before you fly off unpowered or soar safely. Hope he pulls through and is not seriously injured. Dont just talk about it, Do it!

In those 100 sport jumps build up you might want to look at a modified tracking suit to get him familiar with flight orientation and some of the assymetry issues; plus he can build some different m,uscles group control thast is likley to be more relevant for future wingsuit jumps. ;) Dont just talk about it, Do it!

Best Wingsuit For Slow Fall Rate/Long Flight
verticalflyer replied to skydiverkeith's topic in Wing Suit Flying
I think your missing the point entirely, a poll of this kind is pointless, skill set is far better and to be honest this kind of poll even if it could point to slowest longest etc etc just fuels many newbies to jump onto the biggest suit far too early. A poll around your progression route or a thread along those lines would be far more valuable. For example my progression below: Classic 1 50 jumps Classic 2 250 jumps Gti 150 jumps Skyflyer 1 250 jumps Vampire 1 200 jumps Jii Wings GS1 150 Jumps Xwing 50 jumps Stealth 2 75 jumps Vampire 4 - awaiting DZ opening ;) Dont just talk about it, Do it! -
Why? Even if someone did manage to genuinely soar a wingsuit she'd still be an ignorant non jumper with a crap idea. I am sorry I missed the original thread, just read it and its priceless. I dont think I'll be taking off anytime soon; dont understand why because I ran around the living room in my V4 and even after adding wooden spoons to extend my wing and change my AR I couldnt fly I just dont understand Nice video though, soaring gliding or flaling very nice.

Also if you have black booties and a white suit or other bright combo use a colour catcher otherwise you might just get a grey suit or other off colour ;) Dont just talk about it, Do it!

Good spot and good job all round in dealing with it, I see the cables, thought they might be suit handles first time but on second pass clear. Well done and glad this ended well. Dont just talk about it, Do it!

Glad to see your ok, post reserve deployment did you cutaway your main so if your pin dislodged you would avoid a potential downplane at low altitude also did you pull in your bridle and pilot chute or did you leave it trailing? Cheers Fraser Dont just talk about it, Do it!

Nice interview, when do we see the return of the hamsters ;) Thanks for sharing genuinely great to see someone so genuinely passionate about the sport and the flight. Dont just talk about it, Do it!

This is a moot debate, throw your PC properly and maintain a symmetrical body position with closed legs on deployment and there is not an issue. I have over 1000 wingsuit flights with a normal container, pc and bridle and have no issues. Keep it simple and deploy properly. Dont just talk about it, Do it!

What canopy has the most fatalities?
verticalflyer replied to cocheese's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
What is the point of this question other than to debate random interpretations of statistics. The real question is how we generate better more aware canopy pilots. Any canopy can kill if flown at the ground as we know; but its human behaviours that gets those people there. We need to generate a hunger to learn through working with others and learning from experience not simply stumbling in the dark while pretending we know the way driven by our ego's. Dont just talk about it, Do it! -
Pack job same as usual, no rotation, no modified container, no extended bridle or increased PC. Symmetry in pack job body and deployment worked so far. I use a Spectre 120 for my wingsuit jumps loaded at 1.5lb/sqft no issues in last 1000 wingsuit jumps. Dont just talk about it, Do it!

+1 Just pull the pud and out it comes. I've only ever jumped one on my Vector 3, so perhaps other containers are different, but i've not noticed any different technique required to get the PC out +2 In the last 1000 wingsuit jumps and all my skydives I have never made a two stage pull. One pull and my hackey, pud, pad or plastic tube has always been secure inside a decent BOC. Dont just talk about it, Do it!

14yr old daughter to Paris/London w/friends family???
verticalflyer replied to Glitch's topic in The Bonfire
Sounds like a safe way for her to expand her horizons and broaden her experience of the world. have a great time hope its not raining when she gets over to blighty! Dont watch taken beforehand. Dont just talk about it, Do it! -
A freefly pud is fine, I uised one for the last 500 wingsuits jumps out of 1000 wingsuit jumps. It is lighter than a hackey and I use a standard length bridel. the most important aspect to your wingsuit flying and deployment is the quality of your pitch. E.g throw the PC properly and have a close body position. Cheers Fraser Dont just talk about it, Do it!

Something from the 80's by the looks of it, I do find it interesting the whole idea of wanting to draw your sport on your body, what drove you to have a wingsuit on your arm or is this just a fun temporary tattoo in case you change disciplines lOl ;) Dont just talk about it, Do it! -
Sorry should go without saying that you try before you buy hence talking to instructor coach. Dont just talk about it, Do it!
