The reason why I wanted to know was that I am unhappy with the amount of knowledge given to student skydivers. I have 150 jumps and still very much consider myself a student. Jumping out of a plane is inherently dangerous, and you are relying on a bit of kit to save you. i am not happy with relying on other people to check my kit - i want to know for myself. also, after the recent discussions about BASE on this site i have visited the CR, BR, Blinc and ABA sites and have found a lot of interesting info on these sites about technical factors - which i am sure would provide some valuable cross-over knowledge for skydiving. i was particularly interested in the rigging and packing information which i have never heard being spoken about on any DZ.

still on the nun thing. a man comes stumbling out of a pub late at night, after having had a skinfull, and sees a nun walking down the road, robes flowing. he stalks up to her, and punches her in the face, then kicks the crap out of her whilst she is lying on the floor. he then dusts himself down and walks off saying 'you're not so tough batman.'

most of the students that i know were drunk on their first jump. i thought it was a prerequisite to go out the previous night, get lashed, turn up still off your face, hurl yourself out, then throw up under canopy? is this not the norm?

oh yeah, i forgot to mention, he was geeking the other skydivers in the plane before he did a dive exit on his hop'n'pop - still dumped stable after a 3 second delay. little b@stard. we'll show him fear!

ahhh the cessna - happy days! he is a skygod. finished his AFF - he did levels 6&7 in one jump - they had to make up a new level for his last jump. he's been practicing the mantis position and doing leg turns on his consols. we shall have to have a 'welcome to A license' jump with him, and monkey with his world. he has 3 or 4 more consols to do - then BEER! now that you are freefly guru, will you still jump with a lowly muppet like me?

you've seen my arm thing right blinky? i too am a mutant. we should form a team (you'll have to learn to freefly first) and call it 'Flying Mutants'. what d'ya reckon? then we can fly the flag (or the tube) for all those mutants out there.

blinky, i think the question is very appropriate for you. why do YOU skydive? you are terrible man! why do you come to hinton? you can't skydive, you can't hack, you're a mutant. i went skydiving cos i was drunk and someone thought it was a good idea - so we paid for a static line jump - we weren't gonna back out after that - i am not wasting £120! then after that i forgot what i used to do at weekends and just carried on doing that. it is not as if it is a big rush or anything, the people are all boring etc etc. skreamer only skydives so that he can get an aerial view of the countryside to find out where most of the sheep are.

how much do you want it? give up everything that you don't NEED! and i mean - new anything, expensive car, food, girlfriend. Give up EVERYTHING, then you might be able to do an extra couple of jumps a week.

yeah, i did a currency jump for this guy. it was weird. i kept checking my non existant handles in the plane, and two or three times i checked my non existant alti in freefall. lots of time under canopy and man are those toggles hard to pull down on! won't do anymore though as since i did it alot of people told me about all the possible mals that could happen on a tandem rig - those TMs are nuts!

the place isn't so friendly at night - they make you drink horrible cocktails of alcohol, mayo, pork scratchings etc, wear protecs and jump over tables on space hoppers and things. then geoff gets his @rse out! eerrrrghhh! run away, it is scary!
