    Bullshit. Todd Beamer & the others who made calls from the plane did NOT use cell phones. They used the Airfone inflight phone system. You know those little handsets embedded in the back of the seat on some commuter flights? They charge you a lot of $ per minute, but they work just find at any normal altitude. That's what they're for. They've been around since the late '70s. Todd Beamer picked up the receiver & dialed 0 & talked to the Airfone operator.
