  1. I'm in the same boat you are. I made 15 jumps 2 years ago... got cleared from AFF and had a couple solos. Didn't get to the dz for a weekend or two and ended up never getting around to going back. Every sunny day since I've rued not getting my license and keeping with sport. At this point I assume redoing AFF is my only option but who knows... I haven't touched based with any instructors on that one yet. Let me know how it works out for you...
  2. Ultimate Boot CD is usually a decent move and it can load from a flash drive. Lots of handy tools on there including data recovery which is what you're looking for. http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/
  3. WOO FLYERS!!! Bring on the Habs!
  4. Anchorman. "That brewery turns out 10,000 bottles of beer a day. I take 45 off the assembly line, and I'm the asshole."
  5. Congrats on the first jump. I just made my first jump on May 1st as well, a quick ride down I-80 from Sky's The Limit, at Above The Poconos and like you, now I'm absolutely craving getting back into the sky. My first jump class is next Saturday. I can't wait! Keep us updated on how your AFF goes.
  6. My tandem on Saturday was absolutely incredible. I can definitely say I've never experienced anything like that, nor had my girlfriend. She loved it as well. Everybody at the dz was extremely friendly. knowledgeable, and knew how to use humor to lighten up the first jump. That helped in keeping our nerves in check. The only quick moment of anxiety came as I was swinging my knees out the door of the Cessna but from there it was ear to ear smiles. It all happened so fast though... I didn't want it to end. I signed up for the solo jump course in 2 weeks. I can't wait! I'm definitely hooked . It should be a blast and I can't ask for a better place to learn either. Above the Poconos is run by Don and Darlene Kellner... between the 2 of them they have almost 55k jumps combined! There's more to be learned from them then I can fathom. If anybody wants to check out the video of my first jump here's a link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zmo30cb4rNs.
  7. Hell yeah... I'm all for that. Capitals go home and my Flyers get the Bruins next round! BOUCH!!!!!

Pretty damn good for being a kinda death metal / mathcore mix... these guys can definitely throw down.
  9. I can't relate to dip but I'm working on quitting smoking cold turkey after being between a half pack to pack a day smoker for 9 years... Haven't lit one up in 16 days and still going strong. Granted, I 'quit' once before for 3 months a couple years ago. That went down the drain when I got hammered beyond all recognition one night. In my experience, it's solely a mental thing. When you get the craving just find a distraction and it'll pass in a few minutes. Easier said than done but after a week or so it definitely feels much more doable.
  10. So, after several years of the urge to take the leap coming and going I've finally made the decision to schedule a tandem. It's 2 weeks from today weather pending of course. I'm super excited though a bit apprehensive but I suppose that's normal. It's not every day you decide to jump out of a plane. The comical part is I've convinced my girlfriend to jump as well. We'll see how that works out... Anyway, I have a feeling I'm really going to enjoy this and will hopefully want to pursue skydiving after that initial tandem. Anybody here familiar with Above the Poconos or Sky's The Limit in Northeast PA? Those are the 2 closest dz's to my home, ATP being only about a 15-20 minute ride and the one I'm doing the tandem at... Just wondering if anyone has any experience with either location be it jumping or training there.
