  1. A quick update with regards to the Xtreme unit: Vigil WILL now offer the Xtreme unit to everyone (yay!) however, it won't be available for at least three months (you may have heard…we're a little backordered ) The Xtreme is a 2+ model and it is worth noting that it is a single mode unit. (Thanks Mike for keeping people up to date on everything!)
  2. I understand completely that this can be a bit of a confusing topic. I'm attaching a summary sheet that includes some information on the automatic shutdown feature (as well as some other info). Hopefully it will help
  3. P. 8 of the Vigil Manual: "The selected activation mode «PRO», «STUDENT» or «TANDEM» will remain visible on the LCD display until the Vigil® is switched off or turns off automatically after 14 hours. If the Vigil is airborne due to a difference in pressure equivalent to more than ±150ft (±46m) compared to the “ground zero” reference (pressure), it is highly recommended to switch off your Vigil® after your last jump of the day. Be aware that your Vigil® will not switch off as long as its “ground zero” reference altitude is not measured again (at ±150ft or ± 46m) by the Vigil®." Hope that helps a little
  4. Are you having trouble with your Vigil right now? I don't have your name in my repair records but if you PM I'm sure we can get your AAD sorted out for you :)
  5. If you or anyone else could PM with the details surrounding this incident I can certainly try to find AAD's official statement.
  6. The Vigils that experienced the firings were sent to AAD in Belgium for testing. I know that after their initial analysis of the units nothing immediately appeared to be out of order with the units but as I said, that was the initial analysis. I haven't yet received any further results from the testing process on those units. We'll definitely try to post as much information about any and all results but if you'd like to PM with your e-mail address I can be sure that you receive updates that way as well. ------------ Would the fact that the firings occurred in CO and the testing occurred in FL, at totally different altitudes MSL have any effect on the result? ------------ The results referred to in AAD's statement are just from the initial test. We're actually looking into doing more tests at the same altitude (preferably from the same DZ) and hopefully even with the same aircraft.
  7. Thanks for posting! If anyone has any additional questions or concerns please feel free to PM me and I will do my best to address them. -- Jenny
  8. Thanks for the suggestion brettski :) Just to expound a bit on what you already stated; Vigil has started the process of field testing a number of Vigil's in an attempt to recreate the incident of the units firing in the plane. I know that the first run of this battery of tests has been carried out but I don't yet have the actual data from the tests. As with all field testing, it's impossible to tell how long it may be before we have the answers that we're looking for. That being said, I'll do my best to post results and official statements as quickly as possible so that everyone has access to them. If anyone has any questions or concerns please feel free to PM me. I can't promise that I will have the information to answer your questions yet but I'm most happy to try!
