  1. Use two bumb bell weights make an S fold around them makeign sure that the lines are in between the ends of the weights. If you are careful enough you can pull the weights out with out disturbing the lines. I have actually used this while packing a tail pocket for CRW. Crude Diagram attached. 2006 Review

Can't really call this one a goal since it was impromptu but a month ago I quite smoking. It is one of those cliche new years resolutions that I didn't make. When I met my sweet heart and then got a chest cold I figured why not try again. I did slip and have one twice. I haven't bought any and I haven't had more than one each time. It is hard but as long as I keep getting "rewarded" then I'm distracted. She is such great support and help. Did you have any accomplishments in 2006 that were goals set at new years? 2006 Review

The year is comming to an end. Did any one set goals for themselves at the start of 2006? If so, what were they and did you achieve your goals? Brag on! Out of all the ones I set I completed one I was just about to complete another but the money just didn't go far enough. I did accomplish plenty this year just not what I told myself I would do. Lost a little focus but it has been a good year for personal accomplishments. 2007 is my over flow for last years goals. volunteer for RAM airborne, get another riggers rating(to become a master rigger later some other year), get a TI rating. Since 2007 is a world record year for CRW I'm adding being a record holder. Last year I finished my PRO rating (this one I actually set for 2006), got SCUBA open water certified, did my first base jump, bought my first property. I was going to get an AA degree on my way to my Bachelors but the school stopped offering them, so I have to skip that and keep going to the 4 year degree. Because of my PRO rating, I also achieved a dream I have had for 5 years. I'm a demo jumper for the U.S. Marines Not only that but I started the program. although it is small time right now if I keep working at growing it it could be huge. 5. Everyone that knows me at work knows I jump and do other "extreme" sports. I have been there a year and they are stll asking me why I do it. Everytime there is some incident in the news pertaining to jumping from the weekend, they are looking for me at my desk monday morning to see if it was me or if I have inside information. I guess no one watches nascar because they want to see the race, it is because they want to see the car wreck. Soul Mates

I'm not sure what it is that makes a couple soul mates even though I believe in it. To quote others, I have been with some soul squashers and have tried with some real winners in the past few years. I have also had some really great relationships that just slowly grew two different directions. I guess the journey experience helps you find your soul mate. My baby makes me smile every day and I'm gratefull for who she is. It all takes effort and time to figure out but maybe this time it won't be so difficult. 7. I was going to make a BASE container with it. this was before I knew anything about base. I figured with all the sneaking around camo would be the way to go. 8. FYI the candians pattern is called CADPAT. www.hyperstealth.com I used to have plenty of the USMC woodland digi pattern in 1000d cordura. I got lucky when I found that. I was going to have a rig made of it but someone talked me out of it saying it was too redneck. Now all I have is a gear bag and the rest of the bags I made I sold. Good luck finding it, it does have a pattent and so does the Canandian stuff. all the uniforms and equipment on ebay are either not authentic issue or it is a Mairne that is selling it to try to make a few extra bucks. We aren't supposed to resell issued uniforms of uniforms bought from Post Exchange priveleges. If you want the pattern for function go with the ACUPAT. It is the best pattern for all three environments woodland, desert and urban. the problem with all other camo patterns is that they are specific to particular environments. an example of this would be real tree. great three D stuff but you can only use it well inthe environment it was designed for. Hyperstealth explains all that. Gunnery Sergeant of Marines "I would like it if I were challenged mentally at my job and not feel like I'm mentally challenged." - Co-worker

  10. and I liked the comment above about "others being able to see them.. " specially in that state: passed out. Agreed. I friend of mine was knocked out on our skydive and I went to help him. He had silver which was what I was looking for because it is most common. White get dirty it will be dark grey later from packing and touch them. my bright yellow cutway pillow is turing dark grey. 11. WLO toggles would work but only on brake line that were set to length with a finger trap so that a small loop to accomodate the pin on the toggle release was made. You'll need a rigger who also understand base and exactly why you want to use WLO toggles to help with this. I am assuming that you want to use these toggles the even that you get a line over on your skydiving canopy and want to clear it instead of chopping. Some skydiving mains land ok with rears and some don't. the main you want to have the WLO toggles on would have to be evaluated (by you) to determine if this is a good idea. I'm pretty sure if you untwist your brake lines after every five jumps like recommended then whether or not the brake line is trailing or still attached to a toggle won't make much difference, if at all, when landing on rears. That is if the lines have the bow in them at fll flight like they are supposed to. this is the reason for untwisting them, to keep the right amount of bow at full flight.. Keep in mind that those toggles will have to be inspected at each pack job to ensure the release pin is still set well so that they don't release on opening or while flaring or something. I'm not sure of the forces that would or would not effect the toggle but I think there is a reason that they aren't offered with skydiving rigs as an option. opening foces may be one of them. manufacturing cost may be another. Hope I helped. Gunnery Sergeant of Marines "I would like it if I were challenged mentally at my job and not feel like I'm mentally challenged." - Co-worker

  13. Since high school, The largest age gap I had was 7 years older than me. The next largest was 6 years older than me. Third largest gap was 5 years younger. Everyone else has been around my age. The relationships with the two largest age gaps were not healthy at all, it just took me a while to either notice or just get sick of it. Two of my earliest relationships didn't end well either. Not that any of them ever do, breakups sucks each time. But I think that was maturity on both sides. just too young. Pro from all the relationships wuold be that I learned something that I won't do again. Con from each one is that because of the pro there is a sterotype now that when I see certain behavior those women are immediately screen out. Some people would call that baggage. I call it being careful. Gunnery Sergeant of Marines "I would like it if I were challenged mentally at my job and not feel like I'm mentally challenged." - Co-worker

It is well exercised. I was out shooting darts at the bar last night.
  17. No tools needed. Regular over the shoulder propack just like any skydiving main. I sit on the canopy and drag the rig forward as I'm stowing lines. I have ruer bands on the tail pocket. The corners can be unstitched, no problem, as long as the canopy is covered. Most CRW dogs have gotten away from canopy hanging out everywhere. every container has a range of canopies that will fit. The first thing to do is find the container that will fit the main you want to put in there and then discover the range of reserve sizes will fit. I think you may fond out that you are going to end up with a 220 or bigger reserve. My vector 3 has a 220 raven reserve. I packed a 260 ace in it for hop and pop to practice with the canopy before a base jump it and the canopy was hangin out everywhere look like an old school CRW rig. Are you in Florida? I could help you with this stuff in person if you need it. How long...

Does it take for novacaine to wear off? I'm starving. I didn't eat because I was going to the dentist and I didn' want them to get a mouth full of food or bad breath. So, I brushed and went to my appointment. I had completely forgot about the "deep cleaning" the doctor recommended so when I go the put the topical stuff on so I won't feel the needle. I bearly felt it. and they stuck me four times. Since I really don't like needles and the doc asked me if I needed a paper bag. My thought was I wish I could say one way or another but I havea needle sticking out of my mouth and I am scared to move. back to starving, I could try to eat but I'm afaid I'll bite my tongue off and not know. but seriously I think they said an hour but it has been longer than that and I'm still very much numb. How long til it wears off. Anyone know? Gunnery Sergeant of Marines "I would like it if I were challenged mentally at my job and not feel like I'm mentally challenged." - Co-worker
  21. We do use tail pockets as in base. Some of us use rubber bands for line stows some don't. That part will be up to you. A fine mesh slider is good so is a large chicken wire mesh slider or even an X slider. depends on how fast you want it. I think the going advice on reserve size is don't use a reserve any smaller than the smallest size canopy you have ever jumped. However, with a 266 base canopy your container will be rather big so the reserve will be rather big. Bigger than 170. It ijust next to impossible to have the right size main container without any canopy sticking out and have a dinky reserve. The method I use is to stow lines in the pocket, then flip the canopy over so the the pocket is in the pack tray nose facing up. Stow the risers, then S fold the canopy into the container. Gather the top skin so it is not sticking out and close the flaps. tha is basically it. there are other things to consider but only if you use the equipment like a kill cone but since you are using a base canopy you don't have to worry about the extras that CRW set ups have. Hope this helps
  22. I got all four of my wisdom teeth pulled in boot camp. I got a local anestetic. The doc wasn't all that gentle but after seeing the teeth he pulled I knew why. They were all inpacted and he had to roll them out because the roots curled like a roller coaster. He said GD several times. Afterwards all I got was 800mg of motrin that lasted about three days and cotton to fill the holes. a doctors note to the Drill Instructors to leave me alone if I didn't yell. That went right overboard. I could only take the motrin when I was eating because the D.I. left me alone long enough to swallow them. I should have had them pulled when I was a teen before they broke the gum line when a civilian dentist could have knocked me out completely and given me good pain candy to take home. 25. I have always told my coach student to have a equal size or larger than the main. My reasoning is that you are in an emergency when you cutaway. why would want to downsize and learn to fly a smaller and different canopy at that moment?
