Ministry of Silly Walks - possible inspiration for the Python skit
leapdog replied to sundevil777's topic in The Bonfire
That looks rediculous. I'm sure there is some sort of History and traditions that is behind that. After watching it, the stomping wasn't what I was thinking of. It is when the soldiers march in formation I think that had more of a british influence. I agree, Cleese would have ripped that up in a skit. I don't know about learning wing suiting yet. I'm not so sure I'm a big fan of the winfsuit community in florida anyway. I only met like three of them. I'm pretty sure someone helped me with that situation. As the prop turns Smoking it low. two weekends ago I stirred up shit with the S&TA one or two fo the instructors told me I wasn't base jumping at the DZ. call me a newbie but is a tagged base site a place that is watched so that base jumpers won't go there? I wouln't know the lingo since I haven't been a base jumper. I did two at bridge day. Both dry, standing up and unhurt landings. I furst visted Bridge day my first year of skydiving. I told myself I would be back when I thought that I could base jump. I studied a little over 4 years for a daylight, organized, no tresspassing, as safe as possible base jump. I know there is more to it than that. I plan to do it again, but not like bridge day. After that I will know if I want to continue. I remember saying after my jumps that day that I could just keep doing this. Now I have to decide if I want to sell my free fall rig or not. Whoa. That post has so much I didn't know even after asking questions from experienced jumpers. Thanks. Gunnery Sergeant of Marines "I would like it if I were challenged mentally at my job and not feel like I'm mentally challenged." - Co-worker

I beleive it depends on the rate and under what conditions of usage. Some jumpers have replaced at 500 jumps and other at 800 to 1000 jumps. I haven't heard of anyone waiting longer than 1000. This doesn't mean that there isn't a better answer. Gunnery Sergeant of Marines "I would like it if I were challenged mentally at my job and not feel like I'm mentally challenged." - Co-worker

I'm not a farmer, i would have no idea as to these matters. I only did a simple google search and open the first few links I got. The size I pointed out was to illustrate a point as to the amount of hide that was being used. So- if the beef breds are even bigger then again Damn. That's a lot of leather. There is a thing called naugahyde or in the 80’s was called pleather (plastic-leather) However- A Holstein cow weighs between 1100 and 1500 pounds when milking. A Jersey cow weighs 700 to 1000 pounds. About 41.8 million beef cattle are slaughtered annually in the United States. Damn. That is a lot of leather. http://www.goetzecandy.com/playarea/cowfacts.cfm http://www.svar.org/lovequiz.html Gunnery Sergeant of Marines "I would like it if I were challenged mentally at my job and not feel like I'm mentally challenged." - Co-worker

Cool. I used to have a few I raised a Columbian red tail boa, two African boas, a ball python, Burmese python. I sold them off one by one. The Burmese I sold last when I joined the Marines. If you haven't already, read up on thier natural evironment and typical food type and how often is enough. Don't want to over feed them. It's a movie. Movies are fantasy unless a documentary. Most of them at best are based on true events. doesn't make the movie true. Besides you can do anything as long as it is written in the script. I would fantasize about being in freefall for four minutes but I like CRW much more. A man after my own heart. Sometimes it's paid for in more than one way at a time. I think those types are what we used call a gold digger. I haven't used that term in a long time. I guess because I got smart and started to get to know someone and found out if they about me or my wallet and/or what I could do for them. OK, I'll give you more. Met the chick through my jump instructor while I was still on student status. Somewhere along the line, I started having feelings for her. When I expressed my feelings finally, she said she was still waiting for her guy in Iraq. I expected that, because I knew it was still sort of up in the air. However, since that time, she seems to have only become more certain that she wants to be with him. Every conversation we have about that particular issue just seems to rub salt in that big ugly wound in my heart. Not that she's noticed, or not that she cares if she has noticed, but yet again, here I am feeling like I was never meant to find that right person. Dude- Take my word for it. Do yourself a favor and don't look for comfort or advice on relationships in here.
